Posted by El Duque Mar 1, 2011 at 7:10am CST 40,964 views
Takara-Tomy has updated their website with MP-01L's official product page. The figure itself appears to be the same and have the same accessories as the original MP-01 release with the addition of the display base, which is rumored to give a clue as to the identity of the next MP release. Some of the images have been mirrored below.

I only considering buying this after Takara first announced him, but after looking at the first picture, I'm pretty sure that I'm sold, I know that this guy shouldn't be anything new by now, but that pose is just so cool! :-(, by the way has Takara revealed the release date for this guy yet?

ofcourse the one part of this article that really caught my attention was the hint on the base about the next Masterpiece. So naturally there is no more information or pics about the base. We should find out soon enough. DIG PEOPLE DIG!!! :D

Such a great figure, if I didn't already have it I would buy another one.

I have to question weither or not we may start seeing some mold degredation on this, what is it now, sixth use of this mold.

MP-01, MP-02, MP-04, Hasbro version 1, 20th DVD version.

I think every Transformers fan in the known universe must own this figure by now. I just want another chance to get Megatron!

Megatron was re-released last year (or he comes out soon?). I thought it had already come out, but BBTS has it listed as a preorder for March.

QC has gone down since the MP-4 release (paint chipping, missaligned windows) and the second issue of Ultra Magnus (missassembly of the lights). Let's hope TakaraTomy fixes those issues.

You think wrong. I, for one, have yet to get him. I just can't decide between the base and the trailer with a bootlegged Roller.

See thats the thing, some of the poses shown sometimes aren't possible as the ratchets in the leg pop to wide so it justs looks wrong, I just checked that the pose shown is, but I remember when I first got that I had a problem with some poses that ha dbeen depicted, I think it was due to top heavyness also making the legs want to spread more. Great figure but I wish he was all plastic to help posing.
On another note is it me or are the legs more metalic looking, or is that just he promotion pics. As the thighs look metalic instead of a more flat grey.

The very first release of him had some paint chipping issues, as was also pretty common with Binaltech figures.

Just to add to this, the chest alignment issues were supposedly fixed in the release of Sleep Convoy or the one before. I can't remember which, for certain. It was one of the advertising bullet points that Takara Tomy were using for whichever release it was.

I really want this, but I'm already buying Megatron in March and I want MPM Starscream, so I don't know if I want to spend that kind of money... I don't know, looks like I'll be putting in some extra hours at work (:|

You're right about the heaviness and ratchets hindering posing but the pic of him holding Megatron IS possible. Mine is currently doing the pose exactly as shown.

Yes, they've painted the thighs in pretty shiny silver. Whether or not that paint app makes it to the released figure, who knows?

I believe the clue is supposed to be in the base (which does look like the plastic MP Prime base). A Bumble bee isn't completely out of the question, however unlikely IMO. I believe Galvatron is the next.

I take it the Japanese text over the display base says there's a hint regarding a new Masterpiece figure?

Who else has held the Matrix other than Rodimus, Starscream, Ultra Magnus?

Alpha Trion? Galvatron (which actually could be a sweet Masterpiece figure)?
