I wanna pick up the toys and check them out! I wanna play with them without someone walking up to me and saying "sir please put that back you're a grown man"

I think that may be one of the staff members (very casual attire, I'll give you that) setting up the Dirgesplay.

That's what they want us to think...
"Sir put that back"
"He's playing with it!"
"He's a staff member"
"Where's his badge?!"
"Where's yours?"
"Alright I'm going..."

Usually the reason I wear red tshirts at cons, to be honest. Pretty sure if Hasbro dusts their Victorion cabinet for prints they can clone me straight away.

I hope not. They still got a couple G2 Seekers to make. And with the G2 MP love they've been showing I'm sure they'll get to it eventually.DecepticonFinishline wrote:They must be in a big hurry to retire the MP11 mold.

I would buy those up SO fast, but I'm doubtful we get any official MP love for them.Sabrblade wrote:Not to mention additional Seekers like the other two Rainmakers, the Air Warriors, the Welcoming Committee, etc.shajaki wrote:I hope not. We got Acid Rain, didn't we
Posted by Sabrblade on July 29th, 2016 @ 11:00pm CDT
Thanks to Hasbro, yeah, but I wouldn't count on much more than him since all of Acid Storm's toys had been Hasbro-initiated with Takara never releasing their own Acid Storm toys of any kind. Takara's release of MP Acid Storm was a straight import of the (cartoon-inaccurate) Hasbro version with a new ID number sticker slapped on the box.Hellscream9999 wrote:shajaki wrote:I would buy those up SO fast, but I'm doubtful we get any official MP love for them.Sabrblade wrote:Not to mention additional Seekers like the other two Rainmakers, the Air Warriors, the Welcoming Committee, etc.shajaki wrote:I hope not. Oh, it was hasbro only, guess it must have conflicted with TT not wanting to release every repaint out there, wasn't there also an mp sunstorm too? Maybe we should be praying to hasbro for these repaints as opposed to the other repaints we don't want, seriously, there's now winning with this fan-base

Yeah, there was a Sunstorm from both Takara and Hasbro, but Sunstorm originated from e-HOBBY, making him a Japanese-original character, with his Takara MP directly based on his cartoon deco.Hellscream9999 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Thanks to Hasbro, yeah, but I wouldn't count on much more than him since all of Acid Storm's toys had been Hasbro-initiated with Takara never releasing their own Acid Storm toys of any kind. Takara made Sunstorm years before his MPs, and Hasbro made Acid Storm years before his own Hasbro MP, but the rest of the background generic Seekers have gotten no such toy love outside of some Fun Pub toys or some other obscure merchandise.

No, they appeared in Season 3 too, particularly in "Thief in the Night" in which all three appeared together. And again in the Japanese Headmasters cartoon.skywarp-2 wrote:I'm probably going to get them once I get all my other seekers bought. But it's funny, the coneheads only last 1 season. Lookalikes did get chomped on by Unicron in the movie:
NOM
Dirge seems like a tough nut to crack, as he seemingly died not once, but twice:
Dirge goes kablooey, Five Faces of Darkness pt. 5
His luck got worse in the comics

#1. Why is Dirge's missiles, forearms & head/nosecone GRAY??? They're supposed to be black.
#2. Why are the colors on Thrust's jet mode completely wrong? His wings aren't supposed to be gray & why did they put that black patch on it?
#3. Why haven't I seen anybody else mention these problems?
Thrust was always my favorite since G1 & that IS NOT Thrust! WTF?

Actually, Thrust's colors were discussed in his thread here. (More of the coloring discussion above the post linked here.)

I also noticed how dark Dirge's wings are in this photo. If the Masterpiece Dirge's wings were a little darker, then perhaps they would complement the rest of Dirge's body.

I still don't have any of the MP-11 toys so I'm not completely familiar with the transformation yet -- why didn't they use the actual jet piece for the head?
But otherwise he looks pretty cool.
Posted by Sabrblade on December 20th, 2016 @ 5:30pm CST
Probably because it would have made for a ginormous conehead. And if they'd shrunk it down to be more proportionate for the robot mode head, then the jet mode would have likely ended up with a humorously dinky nosecone that would have looked far too ridiculously small when compared to the rest of the realistic-looking jet body.Cyberpath wrote:I still don't have any of the MP-11 toys so I'm not completely familiar with the transformation yet -- why didn't they use the actual jet piece for the head?

I will forever disagree. The classics toys did something simple but smart which the amsterpiece line could have ameliorated on:
Transformers Henkei Thrust Gallery
And if it had to be a fake head they could have done a new mold to make a cleaner transformation that hides the nosecone. But no, instead they reused the same scheme from 10 years ago and just stick the nosecone in the back.

The nosecone of the Classics Seeker mold is built differently from the nosecone of the MP Seeker mold. The Classics Seeker mold built the robot mode head into the nosecone; the MP Seeker mold did not.william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Probably because it would have made for a ginormous conehead. The MP Coneheads are not as bad as you're exaggerating them to be. Yeah, the Classics Coneheads did an interesting thing with the nosecone, but if you're making this big a deal out of a visible nosecone on the MPs, how well would an eternally visible face in jet mode sit with you? And that's just if they maintained the thing from the Classics design. If they made a jet nosecone helmet type thing, the nosecone would be too big and it would look dumb.It also makes the jet mode of the Classics Coneheads look short and, I think, bad.
I've got Ramjet and Thrust, and with exceptionally little effort have managed to position the jet nose in such a way that only by expressly looking to see it is it visible, and even then it's not much. It being black lets it hide itself between Ramjets' thighs, and it is surprisingly unifying visually with the black of Thrusts' chest. I think the visibility is more of an issue on Dirge because the color is grey instead of black, and I'm not sure why the nose doesn't plug in the way it did on the original MP Seeker mold.
