He turns into a Wooly Mammoth and is one of the most complex Beast era Transformers. He is also the first toy to be released with a Matrix accessory. Hasbro did release the mold as a black redeco and fun pub released it in a blue deco as Ultra Mammoth. We can see see this Encore release on display at Wonderfest, in Japan, right now along with the blue lucky draw version which is just there for reference purposes as the most recent release of the mold.
As with all Encore products since Takara's move out of G1, this will undoubtedly be a pricey release and we will give you more details when we have them. He is sure to have a nice box though.
Images of this toy were found on Twitter and Dengeki Hobby.

I wish they'd bring back e-Hobby exclusives already and continue Magna Convoy and Convobat's story, they really left us hanging there. I still want a blue TR Astrotrain and I hope Takara Tomy does give us a slightly tweaked blue Big Convoy at some point somehow.
I'm definitely getting Big Convoy, he definitely has a place in my collection and I don't have any version of the mold yet.

Yeah me too. Although as the post says, it can sure drain the life out of someone's life savings. I do prefer the brighter colors on this mold. It makes him look more like a Convoy.

Probably just display art meant to decorate the Transformers booth.NTESHFT wrote:Ok......so is there a reason for the dinobots artwork in the background? The Legend Commander Collection version was pretty show-accurate (and a much better mold overall, and more show-accurately scaled towards the much bigger Galvatron).ZeroWolf wrote:does this mean lio convoy encore is on the cards?

Yeah, I know, but I have a dream that one day they will surprise me with them in the MP line.....
I feel they do need to bring a new, bigger version of Grimlock too....

Hopefully enough positive reaction to this show-accurate deco might lead to a wider DVD release of said show.

That's... not how it works, but rest assured, the English-speaking world will soon have its long overdue fill of Beast Wars Neo in a fully understandable format.Bumblevivisector wrote:Hopefully enough positive reaction to this show-accurate deco might lead to a wider DVD release of said show.

Found a picture to illustrate my point nicely.
Compared to the regular sized figures.
Yeah, I like him with the RMs better.

I think he is amazingly gorgeous too, thosr colours really pop, and i know its a fun mold. If i did not already own it, i think i would need a looooot of convincing not to buy him.

Talk me out of it, not convince me to want it more based on personal experience. come on man!

Maybe we should call him Anime Big Convoy?
The Good
From the images, all the gold color has been changed to yellow orange. The gold in my original has "faded" despite my minimum touch policy on his delicate parts.
Left arm seems to be solid plastic. I really hope so as the original's transparent material in my version just broke off in the socket connection to the torso (got a replacement part from the Korean.
The Bad(?)
His face pain job. Maybe it's just the not very reliable PC images but the details seem muted. The original's silver aluminum really accentuated his badass visage!
Just a few thoughts anyway. Get him while his there folks and hopefully this won't be GodFireConvoy par deux

Well he is both a shellformer and parts former. And this is twice the price he originally retailed at. Maybe check if those 25$ ones on ebay are still available?

I got my replacement arm from a loose but grade A Korean Big Convoy but unfortunately, even loose, the price has already shot up.

Back in 2016, I got mine for $17.00 including shipping for my arm replacement part (same vendor). 2 years really had the price appreciate.

-The deco is bright and jaw dropping.
-The mold is a big badass bruiser.
-He has a giant ***off cannon.
-He has a removable Matrix.
-He's not as outlandishly expensive as the other newer Encore's.
-He's so awesome that its a miracle that all that awesomeness can be contained in a single piece of plastic.
Wait... my bad. I just did the opposite

I am assuming Beast Wars Neo is better than Beast Wars II right? I wasnt a big fan of II
Posted by Sabrblade on August 8th, 2018 @ 11:21pm CDT
From what I've been told, Neo is the lesser of the two, until the Unicron arc towards the end that most agree to be the best part.william-james88 wrote:I am assuming Beast Wars Neo is better than Beast Wars II right? I wasnt a big fan of II
Me, I'm just gonna go in with an open mind and, like with BWII, expect nothing great but hope for something decent.
I enjoyed BWII for what it was and thought it was nothing special but still a fairly okay and somewhat charming series overall, with some of the standout characters being Scuba, Starscream/Hellscream, and my favorite character Lio Junior.
Other characters who had their moments were Megastorm/Gigastorm, Autostinger, Halfshell, Lio Convoy (during his "deadbeat dad" mini-arc in the middle and also near the end when he confesses that he's finally become proud to call Lio Junior his son), and Galvatron (during the Nemesis arc when he gets more philosophical and begins to have civil debates with Lio Convoy over why he--Galvatron--wants the Angolmois Energy).

A lot of Japanese Autobot/Maximal leaders have young "Animated Optimus" type voices. Though in Big Convoy's case, he's a new leader having just been assigned his own team, so I guess they wanted him to sound like he's fresh into his new commission. Not to mention how he's said to be an atypical leader type (being a guy who never wanted a team of his own in the first place, preferring to work alone), so him having an atypical voice would tie into that as well.Emerje wrote:I've never actually heard Big Convoy's voice, but in my mind it's something deep like Cullen and Chalk, not generic 20-something anime guy. I guess Junichi Inoue being the husband of influential voice actor and singer Keiko Toda got him the role, certainly not because he fit the role.
