I wonder if Overlord will come with a couple Powermasters along with the Headmaster. wouldnt be too hard to switch out the Titanmaster Faceplates for Engine-Plates.

They'll do Black Shadow. Retool or not he's unique enough and he's one of Japan's babies.

I think he might. He's got the cavities in his chest for two Titan masters. I'm sure Takara will take advantage of that

Good to have confirmation that Takara is doing these guys. Since I haven't found Topspin or Perceptor yet I'll just wait and see what Takara will do. I'm glad they're coming with Titan master drones instead of targetmasters though. While I love the targetmasters the inclusion of them takes away the figures original weapons. So Perceptor should still have his sniper and Topspin should still have his handguns.

He is indeed based on Haywire, but Firebolt and Recoil are not based on their G1 counterparts. Rather, they're seemingly based on Fracas and Peacemaker. Go check it!
That was probably done since Firedrive and Flintlock already resemble Firebolt and Recoil.

Peacemaker? Man, I hope that doesn't hint at Pointblank not happening... or maybe this is proof of him happening, with his Titan Master resembling Peacemaker and hence Takara decided to give him Firebolt instead? Puts a hole in my 'pointblank is a retool of hot rod' theory...

You can never be sure with Takara. Liokaiser was a G1 original of theirs & it looks like they passed on doing a version of him.

I still think pointblank will happen but it does raise the question as to why Takara didn't just give Kup and Rodimus their proper targetmasters in the first place

I apparently can't read. Perhaps they'll include Firebolt with pointblank like Kurona said but then that still leaves recoil.

That is some very unfortunate autocorrect.
Regardless, they're not talking about Lio Convoy - they're talking about Liokaiser, the Decepticon combiner from Victory which Hasbro made a Platinum boxset out of but Takara didn't bother with.

Some future figures like Perceptor will probably get Targetmasters as well, so using up all the designs should be easier than you think. Checklist time:
Pinpointer: None
Peacemaker: LG46 Targetmaster Chear / Kup
Spoilsport: None
Firebolt: None
Haywire: LG51 Targetmaster Doublecross / Twinferno
Recoil: None
Aimless: LG52 Targetmaster Misfire
Blowpipe: LG49 Targetmaster Triggerhappy
Caliburst: LG?? Targetmaster Slugslinger
Fracas: LG45 Targetmaster Hot Rodimus
Nightstick: None

Aha, that solves it! They'll include Recoil with Pointblank instead, still leaving the possibility of Pointblank being retooled from Hot Rod!
... rest in peace Firebolt.
Also now I know Firebolt doesn't actually come with Hot Rod, I have no reason to want Legends Hot Rod! Yaaaaaaay!

Derp... too many lio characters. Even so it doesn't mean Takara won't make black shadow. Takara just didn't do liokaizer because they wanted their Combiners to be as faithful as that could and just didn't want to make Jaguar and leozack. They didn't do it. Just like we didn't get Grand Galvatron or ruination.
I still see them making black shadow though. Just later in the line. They're not exactly following the same release trend as Hasbro

Ah, but wouldn't they want Sky Shadow to be as faithful as could be? That's why it's a little up in the air; same with Megatron.

Exactly! Takara has like no pattern to this. Redecoes that do not accurately represent the character WAS the pattern I thought they had... but then they go and do stuff like this
Then again, it's mostly relegated to exclusives rather than the mainline - Armada Megatron, Black Convoy, etc. I personally think they won't do him outside of an exclusive, but who knows?

I don't think you're quite right there. Based on what I've seen Legends Recoil is at least similar to the G1 version, with the double barrels and all. And, uh, Legends Firebolt being based on Fracas? Where did that come from? The only images I've seen of Legends Firebolt look more like a recolor of Legends Recoil, which is highly different from the single-barreled Fracas.
Speaking of Fracas, his original toy long ago received an update in the form of Universe Nightstick (thanks for getting the character models mixed up, Marvel and Sunbow!).
Legends Roddy might not be coming with a true update of the original Firebolt, but he does make some decided improvements on the orignal Titans Return version: His chest tucks in without the additional fold which I think looks much better. Plus the engine hides in robot mode like it should and has a 5mm port instead of those slits, meaning he has a port that's actually useful for mounting Targetmasters and the weapon modes of the various Titan Master vehicles (the 2 ports ahead of the exhaust pipes are too low to play nice with anything other than the combineable paired guns). This is why I'm interested in seeing him from below in car mode

since there are no pics yet i'll just share my thoughts on the my expectations on what these figures will be
Overlord : i'm expecting a Masterforce accurate deco (and maybe his Powermaster partners) but i'm praying to god that we might get an IDW deco I NEED THIS and MMC's Overlord ain't gonna satisfy me for much longer.
Bumblebee : How in the living hell are they gonna make this guy more accurate to the Cartoon he's not a bug in this mold I predict all their gonna do is give him Painted rims and tighter Joints and maybe Emissary repainted as Spike.
Slugslinger : I am so down for a Toon accurate Slugslinger! just please give him a Targetmaster.
Seaspray : Please dear god give him a toon accurate headsculpt!
Perceptor : either an IDW design with the Targeting eye or just a 100% toon accurate retool with a new gun like Kup will suit me fine
Enjoy my money Takara I'm wondering though why Takara hasn't done a Getaway/Breakaway Deco yet

TakaraTomy normally doesn't do straight redecos with only the head and other minor parts switched out for regular retail.

I'm sure that Overlord will be on both Boxsets together with Super Ginrai i suppose..... and also will be sold seperately

From the looks of it, this new wave changes things a bit:
- Legends Class figures come with an additional Headmaster, as before
- Deluxe Class figures will come with a new mold Targetmaster
- Voyager Class figures will come with a Titan Master vehicle instead of the Deluxe Class ones
- Leader Class and up come as is.

I do have to laugh at Sixshot retaining the sub mode in photos over the gun mode even with Takara Tomy.
Surprised they didn't bother painting up the mini Aerialbots that come with Broadside. Guess they aren't that committed.
With all of the newly molded stuff we've been seeing lately (Targetmasters, Kup's new arms, Sixshot's new head and helmet) I'me very hopeful that that means the Overlord figure will be extensively retooled to give it a little more height. That would also make it easier for Sky/Black Shadow to get a release.

I don't really understand why you would think that. Overlord is more than capable of being released as his own main line retail release, there's no good reason to make him an exclusive. Especially when rumors coming out of Tokyo Toy Show point to a God Ginrai box set with Cab and Minerva Headmasters. Takara Tomy isn't about to release Super Ginrai a third time with Overlord. Plus we've never had a Legends box set before (Unite Warriors aren't technically Legends) so it seems unlikely that they'd suddenly drop two on us.

Modifying the right parts could get it done. If they gave him new lower legs that were a little longer and maybe a longer torso it could probably match Super Ginrai. It would take a lot of retooling, but knowing all of the changes made to Super Ginrai purely for aesthetics this is certainly doable.
