TakaraTomy Masterpiece MP-10 7-11 Ultra Magnus repaint hinted and leaked

Finally, with Ultra Magnus, my collection of 7-11 robots can be completed in the only logical manner: through absurdity.

(I don't own any of the 7-11 Gunpla, actually, but this makes me kind of want to.)

That 7-11 promo is hideous. For those who want this deco without the the advertising there is a high quality KO thats been out for a while.

I'm gonna wait until we find out the actual name of this thing before jumping on the Ultra Magnus bandwagon. For all we know, it's just another white-colored Convoy toy like the white Smallest Transformer, the white and blue Sports Label figure, the while Music Label figure, CW Battle Core Optimus Prime, etc.

I mean, hey, Pepsi Convoy just looks like Convoy/Optimus with a bit of extra blues here and there, but he's his own guy.

I assume nothing.

Even though I'm in the minority of those who are fans of the white Prime inside the armor concept when it comes to Magnus, I hesitate to call this Magnus until it's officially announced that it is. I don't think it will be, because of the trailer.

I have that. And I would use the term "high quality" quite loosely. That thing is a POS.

Well this was unexpected.

Sounds odd that we'd get this 3 years after the proper Magnus was made. I really hope this mold isn't facing degradation.

Don't even lol about that. I've been waiting for an MP Pepsi Convoy since day one.

Instead of a Matrix, they can put a "Big Gulp" or "Polar Pop" (or whatever 7-11 calls it) inside his chest.

My interest in a Pepsi Convoy would depend on price. If it cost around what the MP-10B re-release is going for, I might consider it. If it was closer to what the Evangelion Convoy sells for these days, I would skip it.

I've never heard of Hess Trucks before, had to look it up. Some gas station toy I guess, we don't have those in Maine. I do see the resemblance, though.

I LOL'ed at this to my wife's annoyance while I read your post to hear while we are supposed to be watching Lion. Back to watching Lion. I have to put my laptop away because of all of the distracting comments.

Can't wait for 7-11 Ultra Magnus Convoy. It looks amazing and I'm thrilled it comes with the trailer.

I still say it's not Magnus without a car carrier trailer. Just a white Prime. Even though its predecessor was called Ultra Magnus and didn't even have a trailer.

I know the STT Convoy one was a Chase piece, but was the Sports Label one an exclusive of some sort? Or just one of those special redecos they didn't bother making a special box for?

That's exactly what I was talking about. Just because it's "styled" like a certain character, doesn't mean it's that character, not until it is officially named as such. And besides, the only time Magnus appeared as a white Prime inside the armor was in DW's G1 story. Unless these releases are homages to the G1 figure?

Yeah, these generally are homages to the original figure. They've done it in Masterpiece, in Classics, in Henkei... even in RiD 2015. It's kind of just such a common thing that MP-22 and CW Magnus were huge surprises.

Thanks to 7net we get official images and designation along with price of Masterpiece MP-711 Convoy. MP-711 Convoy will run you 25,000 yen. The images show the robot and trailer along with the accessories which carry on the 7-Eleven green. The included Spike figure is also sporting a 7-Eleven uniform. The images also show the shoulder emblems to be stickers as you can choose between the 7-Eleven logo or the more traditional Autobot sign. Check out all the new images below.

MP-711, I see what they did there. Does this mean we'll get *counts* 671 more MP figures?

And is it just me, or is the blue clashing with all that green elsewhere? It sticks out quite a bit, and not really in a good way.

So, it's Total Commander Convoy eh? Those bastards TTomy are still in denial to give me a proper MP 10 white Magnus after all these years. The ingredient to slap Prime name and it will sell well may work to the general public, well I ain't one of those folks. I maybe a sucker to a white Magnus or UMagnus figure, but for an official product, if his name isn't label as Ultra Magnus, he will not be welcome into my Magnus/UM collection. With that being said, a big pass to 711 Total Commander Convoy from me. Although I don't support KO TF, in this case I'm glad KO MP10U exists.

Now I'm beginning to hate OPrime. With all the rainbow colors that he had released, they couldn't reserved the white one with red eyes and blue faceplate for Ultra Magnus. And then there is Magnus Prime, another OPrime, unbelievable! Good grief, next thing you know they'll call MP22 as OPrime.

Yup -- which as I recall is the only fiction featuring Optimus using the white cab design.

And considering that it's one issue from foreign fiction vs. 31 years of precedent including multiple toys to the contrary and that the colours match up almost perfectly with MP-02 rather than the comic, I'm gonna say this is probably meant to be Magnus.

I don't understand this. You'd skip this simply because he's NOT NAMED Ultra Magnus? Even though he's exactly the white cab Magnus you want (minus the stickers)?

And I'll reiterate about the MP-10U KO, it is garbage. If you pay anything higher that 50 bucks (and you will) then you'll feel taken advantage of like I did.

You will understand the concept if you only collect by character like me. So I'm more strict compared to normal collectors since I just don't base on mold/colors alone. To me, this Total Commander Convoy/ Supreme Commander is referring to OPrime, not the UM character.
