Seibertronian MYoung23 has shared a link to chud.com in which a spoilerific description of the opening sequence of TF3 has been shared. Blastr.com also relates the same idea on their website.
Click either link above to view the individual site's write up on the supposed spoiler.
The main idea of the articles are (highlight text if you want to read)There's a disturbance on the Moon. A robot shaped disturbance. Scientists on Earth see this and the information gets passed up the chain of command. In the White House men in black suits are breathlessly running through the halls, and they burst into the Oval Office. The president is behind the desk, back turned to the door, looking out the window. One of the men tells the president, 'Sir, something's happened on the Moon!' The president turns around.
It's John F. Kennedy.

i dont know .
i suppose it could be fun and certainly opens up ideas, but we know from the vids weve seen that most of the pic takes place now so i suppose its a way to introduce shockwave or something and show why he wasnt about in the last two.

The decipticons travel back in time to alter the events of current affairs to their favor in present time the Humans hate the Autobots hence the who Autobots go home deal.
Ive stated before that I think that TF 3 will be about Time Travel and this is a big part of the movie.
Also I think that this is going to be part of the movie's crescendo ending.
They use time to change back before they even meet the transformers thus they were never on earth it will be like they never was there.
The movie will jump alot between the past and present such as the movie opening up with the JFK sequence then the movie shifts towards present time.
Transformers 3 - Beyond Time & Space
Transformers 3 - Timelines
Transformers 3 - Echoes of the Past
So Ive stated before that the plot of Transformers 3 will be time or the timeline if you do something in the past it will effect things in the present.
Also I suspect that Shocwave is the robot on the moon doing the changing of the timeline.
This is my theory.

Well, that could be the answer. But yet, it also couldn't be the answer. Remember, the Transformers as a species have been around for millions of years, and that he is actually from the 1960's time, not from the present. Just think about the beginning of Revenge of the Fallen. The beginning to place a few thousand years before the first Transformers, and the Fallen then wasn't a time traveler, rather, a denizen of that time.
Any questions?

He could also be the one altering the timeline.
The movie begine in 1960's like they said they shift to the moon and show the disturbance also the movie begins with Optimus talking about something wrong with the timeline and stuff about time.
Then we shift towards present time now being 2010 the movie opens up with a huge battle scene in Moscow then we shift towards US with whats going on there with Sam and his new lady and the film picks up from there.
My guess on TF 3 running time is 2hrs and 25 minutes.

Actually it makes sense to me. I doubt they mention "robot shaped disturbance" as they wouldn't have the tech at the time to distinguish anything specifically on the moon. But they would certainly be wondering what was going on as they could detect at least SOME changes on the moon's surface. Then the Soviets and the US would race to see who gets to make "first contact". I also theorize that the robot on the moon is Shockwave and doubt there is time travel. I think we're just dealing with flashbacks. As for the pictures of the Datsun BB being in the past, that is instantly debunked by the fact that the Aston Martin is in the same scene.
I just wish they didn't have to use the most overrated President in US history....

Sorry to burst your bubble, Rodimus, but there is not going to be a fight in Moscow. I'm assuming you've played RotF for PS3/Xbox360/PC. Remember the cutscene before you start the level with Sideways? As NEST is scanning Shanghai, Lennox comments that the atmosphere "feels like Moscow last month. Same background interference."
Hence, Moscow not a battle zone in TF3.

DavidT wrote:Well why is Sam and Mikaela or whoever she ends up being, getting into the Datsun if that's supposed to be the past?
Don't think it's in the past at all...because the Aston Martin Vanquish is in the same scene.

they already stated the story would be about the Transformers involvement with the space program so a flashback to the 60s would make sense since Kennedy's the one who started all that.
makes me wonder what people woulda said had TF2's opening been revealed like this. "ohhhh...so its about going back 1000s of years in time to alter our present"

JFK was assassinated in 1963.
We didnt go to the moon until 1969, when Nixon was president.
Strange, unless JFK actually didnt die and instead jumped in a nixon suit. maybe im not getting something here....

Edit: Nope, im sure what i think is correct. Yay, now the writer doesnt even know history!
