Is Aldi's really that big of a competitor with Target? So when will Target start clearancing their meat?

Pretty much, ironic because they are also one of the more recent wave (Dinobot, Hound, etc) While the Ratchet/Hot Shot wave was limited to like 2 figures each.
Kinda why it's a pain to hunt Transformers

But, I couldn't buy any I wanted because all they had were old figures. No Samurai Prowl or Waspinator. Both of which I had to get from Wal-Mart, as I couldn't wait any longer for Target to get them.

Complaining to the management doesn't do anything...I don't understand how they can have a sale on stuff they don't stock...my next complaint goes to the state of Minnesota.
It's simply false advertisment.

Do You have to have the item with you or can they do it from receipt only? Will they even do it?

Ok. I used to work at Target. I don't know if anyone has said this, but I think I can see what happened there from the picture. There is one peg lable there that has a grey sticker on. I see that its on the universe figures of which there are a lot. That sticker shows that they know they are low on a figure and more have been ordered. They put them up so as the item doesn't get scanned again and more "Unnecessary stock" get ordered from the distribution centre. I think who ever scans them doesn't do a very good job and just assumes Oh, one transformer is the same as another and only scanned the Universe ones.
This post has been long winded and pointless but here's what i'm getting at. If you EVER see a grey sticker on the lable of something you want and they are sold out of the good ones, or the ones you want. Peel that sticker off. Next time they run through and do a scan they will end up ordering a fresh case.
Next what you need to do is be there right before closing. Take a bunch of figures off the shelf and stash them somewhere else in the store. The food section, Kids clothing, somthing like that. If you stash them in the toy section the will probably get put back before the end of the night. If you put theme somewhere else unless its a really slow night they wont get put back till the next morning, During which time your overnight stocking crew may well stuff the shelf full with new goodies from the back.
New tips as I think of them.

What if you get spotted doing all that by a security camera? Wouldn't one get in trouble or something?Mechas8n wrote:This post has been long winded and pointless but here's what i'm getting at. this works only some of the time at mine we usually see a small restock once during the week if we're low. We always zone the store before we leave so hiding stuff might not work depending on where u hide them. Usually sunday morning is the best time to look for new figures. With the sale we should be getting more tfs in overnight truck but prolly alot of targets will just put the signs up and that's it.

Hope they still have some.

I'd like to thank the guy who broke the news because I really wanted this set, but refused to pay 25 bucks for a repaint. That's why I love this site, I've gotten many great deals at stores just from the tips over here. I got Cybertron Leader Prime for 20 bucks from Family Dollar, Ultimate Movie Bumblebee from Walmart for 35 bucks, and now the Target TFA Exclusives for only 5 dollars. Seibertron rocks!
As a side note, the Target I went to still had the sets displayed for 24.99. I was a little discouraged when I saw this, but decided to do a price check anyway. Turned out they were really 4.99. Makes me wonder if this was a legit sale, or just a computer error like with Walmart's 35 dollar Ultimate Bumblebee.
Posted by ServO on April 5th, 2009 @ 5:34pm CDT
And yes...it is NOT a glitch...the Exclusives are only $4.99...
I stocked up!

Target will price adjust within 14 days of purchase. If you are over that, you will have to buy another set at $4.99, and then take it back with your original receipt and get a refund. Did that one today.
On another note, the flood to ebay cracks me up. Looks like the scalpers are trying to roll this one out.

I can confirm this, as i said yesterday, I found nothing on the shelves. Then i came home and looked online and saw where it said available. Called today and the lady said they had about 20 or more but they were in the back. So, definitely worth it to check the 'find in store' and then call ahead or at least go with the DCPI in hand if you're having trouble catching this deal.

Snagged the Sunstorm set today in addition to the Shockwave I already had -- I like him (especially for $5; not sure I'd be as kind for $25), but I can't for the life of me figure out the correct leg positions to get his jet mode right.
Anyone got any tips/click counts regarding that? I could also use help keeping his head from popping off...
