Blurrz wrote:If you've been tinkering with your budget with the recently revealed 2011 Transformers toys, you'll be tinkering some more. The Official Transformers Collectors' Club has updated their website with previews for their 2011 Member Exclusive Toys. These three were announced at BotCon 2010. The free membership figure will be Side Burn, a homage to the RID character of the same name. He will also be a part of the "Wings of Honor" Elite Guard, and uses Classics Rodimus as a base. Next up is Transtech Cheetor, who will be a remold/redeco of the toy he inspired, Animated Blurr. Toping of 2011 is Generation 2 Ramjet, who continues the 2010 BotCon set and uses Generations Thrust as a base. Check out the very small teasers below!

I will finally have a reason to join! Side Burn and G2 Ramjet are two I just can't pass on. I don't care much about Blurr or Cheetor.

but hey, if that means they'll leave FP alone then by all means jump!

It be look like'a Ramjet me'mon.
Blurrz be typin' so fast that he's done with the article before the letters appear on the screen. He's that fast!

Heresy! I call objection! Order in the court! Order in the court!

transtech as well! gotta say it's a bit weird having an animated line figure in a line mixing with other styles, but it'll be interesting to see him.
i don't think sideburn interests me too much though.

I'd love for the same thing, but I'm sure that would snubb the people who paid for G2 Sideswipe in the Customization class this year.

maybe not-hasbro released a Classics Overkill after he was the subject of a customizing class. True, those four toys had an oddness about them, but it still happened.

Yeah, I'd have phrased that more like, I care about Side Burn (enough to call him Speedbreaker), G2 Ramjet (though I'd care more if his color scheme was given to the Classics Starscream mold to give us Classics Slipstream; most collectors who had original Ramjet and bought the G2 one pointed the nosecone back and pretended it was a FemCon jet, right?) Blur and Cheetor, but not Transtech. In fact, I care enough about not splintering the fan base to see that leaving Beast Machines a dead end that Beast Wars fans can either accept or lop off of that continuity is the only way to keep everyone who was in the fan base from '96 to '01 happy. So whenever some club-exclusive story continues past Endgame for Universe or Transtech, I get nervous about old wounds opening up. Well, this Cheetor could still make a better Pre-Beast Axalon Cheetor than the Botcon Clocker remold for those who'll never accept BM's story, so I'll probably end up getting it too.
And a Speedbreaker that I don't have to worry about Speed-breaking whenever I transform him will be nice too.
As for Classics G2 Sideswipe...think those of us who can't get the custom class one may see a remold that actually pulls off the spiked shoulder pad look from the comics?
Posted by Jacob P. Galvatron on September 27th, 2010 @ 7:12pm CDT
I'm looking into getting that Cheetor.
Posted by Dai_Ceefax on September 27th, 2010 @ 7:29pm CDT
Ramjet is kinda fun (and for the people who want a classics Slipstream, why can't she be a conehead?) but why no Action Master Thundercracker instead?
Transtech Cheetor could be ace, the second great custom idea picked up by the club and made available to those of us without the DIY skills/motivation. Let's just hope it works out better than Punch/Counterpunch...

Bottom line: Fun Publications fails to impress, and as such is loosing my following.
Posted by Bumblevivisector on September 27th, 2010 @ 7:49pm CDT
Though if you extended it out to look like a medieval princess/sorceress's headpiece...say, Mega wore one of those in Masterforce, right? And Slipstream's based on Overlord's color scheme! Nah, it still doesn't work...
But I wasn't seriously complaining; Hasbro will milk any one mold for as many repaints as possible right? We'll see Classics Slipstream someday, maybe even before Animated Slipstream (sigh).

I'm glad he's the free membership figure. May also get Cheetor, not sure on G2 Ramjet.

How soon can we join in order to qualify for the free membership figure?

The latest is March 16, 2011.
On a personal note, I'll definitely get Animated Cheetor.. while I'm wondering if Side Burn would make a decent replacement for Wildrider/SG Rodi in that Shadow Scyther armor..

I haven't fully looked into joining yet, so let's see if I understand this correctly.
If I join right now, my membership would be from October 2010 to October 2011, I would not get Dion, but I would get Side Burn, I would have the option to buy Ramjet and Cheetor, and I would get the discount rate for Botcon 2011....does that sound right?

September 28 '10 to September 28 '11(if you did it today), but that's correct.

Take a look at BotCon 2006 Cheetor. Without spots it can be done.

Interior by Kraven The Hunter?
(Yes, I'm a comics geek too, it doesn't make me a bad person)
On topic, Ramjet is a must, not fussed about Animated and will reserve judgement on the Sideburn until I see a picture.
Posted by hpfabe on September 28th, 2010 @ 3:00pm CDT
I've wanted to see Transtech toys for so long, and Cheetor is a personal favorite, so I guess I'll have to re-up. That's the only one I really am interested in, but I like the idea of that one A LOT.
Someone mentioned above that there was a custom of this figure? Can anyone provide a link?
Thanks

One is included with membership price if joined before March 16(in this case Side Burn). The other two will be able to be purchased(and pre-ordered) from the Club Store online. Membership also includes 6 Club Mags a year and a discount on Botcon.

I didn't get the G2 BotCon set, and I'm kind of burnt out on Seekers now, but G2 Ramjet might be interesting...
Now, if they would make ANOTHER run of Punch/Counterpunch then I would be a very happy man.... I was hit HARD by being effing broke this whole past year and had to let my membership lapse and it makes me so damned sad that I missed PCP (He's a drug, I tell you)

Unfortunately, the head is all kinds of wrong to be slipstream....but you HAVE just made a convincing arguement for me to buy that toy. Female Coneheaded Seeker sounds....kind of hilariously anacronistic (uhm... I think I'm using that word wrong but its the only one coming to my sleep deprived brain right now to explain the thoughts in my head|)

LOL Thats what happens when I type to quick. I meant to say "hope".
I buy all seeker repaints. My favorite mold. Wish they would give us a Sunstorm or G1 Rainmakers set since Hasbro will not.

Posted by Jelze Bunnycat on September 29th, 2010 @ 9:09am CDT
"Slipstream" originated in Animated as the Female Starscream clone. What personality trait she represents is best left not asked, as that's the gag. Her name first appeared in the AllSpark Almanac. It's worth noting that BWII Starscream (a completely different character) was a bit feminine... Yikes.
For those curious, the rest of the clones represent:
Thundercracker: Egomaniac
Skywarp: Coward
Ramjet: Liar
Sunstorm: Suck Up
Thrust: Jealous (Animation only)
Dirge: Greed (Toy only)

You have no clue how happy I was to see that package in the mail! I'm giddy just thinking that WFC Starscream flew from the UK to Canada. Quite a long trip for the little guy, but he's happy in his new home: a shelf in a glass case in my Transformers room.
