*TFCON Exclusive* Powered Commander by FansProject!

Very cool. Now all we need is a release of Classics Prime in blue. Come on Hasbro, you love repaints. Just put Thunderclash on the box and you're away.

Looks like. The face sort of looks thinner but I'm pretty sure that it's just the glare effect of being surrounded by bright red.

Thats awesome. But ill never get it. Hell, wouldnt even have a figure to put it on. My Magnus is mint in box and my Prime is well Prime.

I'm with you there. Awesome mold, great homage, but the original Powerd Convoy has terrible colours.

An exclusive of a limited figure-hmmm. Guess I can scrap plans on trying to buy all three now. Since I live in GA, no way I can attend. And I'm simply not going to pay 2-3 times the price of the other sets just to get it from an online vendor.

FP let me down on this one.

At least I was right though, they were definitely producing the PC set, it just happened to be in very limited numbers.

Geez, this is gonna cost a hand and a foot. I still want it though. It's a great mold.

Do you have any of these sets? They're made just as well as most Hasbro products are now and, at least in my experience, the paint apps are better. But if you've had bad luck in the past, I can see why you'd hesitate.

I knew this would be coming, and I knew it would be called "Powered Commander".

I cant make it to tfcon but I am getting this years collector's club exclusive.I BADLY WANT THIS POWERED COMMANDER!

I shall keep the tcc exclusive in box for anyone who wants to trade.

The set really does look good in those colors, and I like the Diaclone era reference. If I wasn't trying to save my exclusives money for stuff I don't already have versions of, I'd so go for one myself.

Too bad there's not a -blue- version of the Prime mold to go with it and make it really accurate, but still awesome.

Has anyone contacted FansProject asking if this will be the only time they make a Commander set for Optimus?

Has anyone gotten the registration form yet? I e-mailed them and asked them kindly to send me it this morning. Why don't they just post it on their site like BotCon. I've never filled out their pre-registration before. Is it like BotCon where you have to print it out and fax it in?

I have been anticipating this armor ever since I first saw the City Commander set, and they go and make it a slagging convention exclusive!?

Guess I'll take that Henkei Prime I was saving for it out of my pile of loot. I don't see any way I'll be able to get this for a decent price.

Crap. Couple this with the loose right foot and right shoulder tab on my Shadow Commander, and FansProject just lost a *lot* of goodwill with me.

On the other hand though, you could consider this as a good thing. How many fan made toys are actually able to be played with and look good straight out of the box? The fact that Fans Project has sucessfully released the City Commander armor twice along with a few other upgrade sets in such a short amount of time while maintaining QC that's been better than Hasbro's lately says a lot about the company. I think the fact that they now have their first convention exclusive says a lot about their products.

Granted this, will be one exclusive that will be freakin hard to get I think it's awesome that a fan produced upgrade set managed to become an exclusive.

You know, I think this might only be an exclusive in the sense that we'll get it first. Much like most of Canada's recent "exclusives". Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I can see this been re-released later in greater quantities through online sites. Possibly even with extras like the faceplate and sword Nemesis got.

An Exclusive is an exclusive. If they do re-release it at some other future point in time, I doubt it will be the same. Alas, I've never been to a Con before, and it looks like this is the best time to lose my convention virginity...

Thanks to everyone for your interest in TFcon 2009. We are in the process of reworking our registration form to ensure that it answers all the questions that have been presented by everyone. The exclusives recently from the San Diego Comic Con have not remained as exclusives: Alternator Hotrod, Alternator Nemesis Prime, and Titanium Menasor.

I was really looking forward to this release. Guess I have to wait until it shows up on ebay for $500.

I think my chances of going to TFCon just went up

Now to find that much needed part-time job BEFORE summer hits...wherein I'll need me a fulltime job...

I doubt I will ever make it to any convention and if I am able to get this figure I would need to buy classics prime first.
I want this so badly but can't get anything with expensive postage or if it is over $40.

Yeah, I wonder if they'll have any left that will sell later online like the SDCC exclusives. However, based on that illustration that was posted a couple of weeks ago, I think it's more likely that we're going to see some color variance and different accessories on a "mass release" set.

I would be willing to bet that a mass release set will happen and will closely match the final color scheme for the G3 trailer.

I'm also going to speculate that a mass release set will be limited to something in the neighborhood of 1000 pieces. I believe that the CC set was 3000 and the NC set was 1500. It would make sense for them to release 1000 in a mass release of this set and have the 500 special TFCon versions available. IMO, that would be a logical way to wrap-up releasing this Armor.
