TFSS 5.0 Update - Container Arrived, Soon to Ship

I was able to pre-order the 3 I wanted (to complete Wreckage) from BBTS. It will probably take a little while longer, but at least I don't have to worry about getting different figures I have no interest in.

Nope. Not even a hint of it's identity in any of the TCC fiction. This could be the first mystery figure to actually be a complete mystery prior to its arrival at someone's doorstep.

Whoever it turns out to be, I just hope its An Autobot/Maximal, or any "good" robot. My Optimus Maximus is missing a limb and needs it for completion .

My theory is that the mystery figure is Ironclad from the Rook mold with it's alternate head. They said the mystery figure was using a head not released yet and he is the reason that wreckage can combine. I also think it would be cool if he came with a redeco of legends groove as the "energy efficient" afterburner but that's not likely to happen.

I once thought that too, but was shot down when someone told me that the idea for the 7th figure came about before the time when Ironclad would have been conceived. I'd like it if it turned out to be Ironclad, though.

Oh, damn that's depressing lol I would've loved to have been able to put together Hasbro's initial concept for computron before deluxe afterburner happened. Plus rook is the best mold from combiner wars

Additionally the CW/UW Deluxe Figures with the fewest uses are the F1 Racer , the Deluxe Motorcycle, and of course the Space Shuttle (which is highly unlikely TFCC would use). But it would be nice if whatever character they make it would be one of those three.

The TCC wasn't aware of the existence of the Deluxe Motorcycle or Space Shuttle when they were planning out their lineups for BotCon 2016, TFSS 4.0, and TFSS 5.0. Those two molds didn't exist back when they were making their mold selections (remembering these things were being worked on prior to BotCon 2015). There were a number of figures unknown to us at the time (such as Onslaught and Brawl) made known to the TCC, but the TakaraTomy only figures weren't made known to them by Hasbro (if Hasbro even knew that Takara was going to make them back when they provided the info to the TCC).

"Ironclad" was supposedly built-in, so the club should have been aware of its existence when they made Impactor and Tarantulas with the mold plans. It just lacked a proper name I think.

I'm sure that such choices (especially Fracture/Crasher, but if Leadfoot maintains the tradition of having the Blackrock name written on him, I'm of course all for that) would be quite popular.

The problem is that we have no knowledge of a pre-existing (but heretofore unused in the US) head for that mold.

While the language used could technically mean a new (not previously existing) head, they wouldn't have referred to it the way they did if it were so. They've have simply said "new head."

So, unless there is a pre-existing head for that mold we simply haven't ever known about, I'm afraid it's just not going to happen.

(All clues point to Sunstorm... I'm not thrilled with this option, but figure I hit the jackpot with Bluestreak, and so have no right to complain.)

The only recent Fun Pub fiction I know of that had a Sunstorm in it was either the last SG story (but which used the old Universe Sunstorm that was a redeco of Armada Thrust) or the Beast Wars: Uprising finale (which had no visual description or illustration of Sunstorm, and who would have most likely been built into the wall of the church he was the minister of, being a Macromaster Builder and all).

I'm totally with you on that.

The main clue I'm aware of was a comment about the mystery figure brightening our days (or something like that. I can't find the original source at present). That would seem to argue Sunstorm, but I don't see any real clue that specifies Starscream-mold vs. Armada Thrust-mold.

I'd rather it be a different mold/character anyway, but of those two, I definitely prefer the Starscream mold.

It's a possibility. Though, I would have figured that if they were to do any Seeker, Red Wing would be worth doing to finally give him a figure after all the commotion that previously made about him, even if it wouldn't be from the Classics Seeker mold.

So, based on the CW Deluxe molds Randy listed as having heads that Hasbro hasn't used yet, and which were known to exist and be available back when the TFSS 5.0 lineup was created, we have:

The Seeker-headed Skydive mold
The Conehead-headed Air Raid mold
The Hoist-headed Trailbreaker mold
And the Brawl-headed Rook mold

If "brighten your day" is any kind of clue, Sunstorm from the first option would fit that description, but it could also be something from one of the other molds we haven't considered yet. The question that remains is what that something is.

I'm guessing they'll break up all the combiner pieces into different shipments now, something like:
Toxitron/Lifelink
OP/Fractyl
Megatron/Counterpunch/Mystery
Possibly shipped in that order, or maybe OP/Fractyl first. But I'm strongly guessing that the double pretender Megatron will be last.

I just want my stuff to get here.

Rook would make a decent Breacher - or a blue Roller I guess.

Somehow i have a feeling that Counterpunch will be the first deluxe we will see, Possibly with Optimus or Megatron. For many, Toxitron will be all that's needed to put together a decent Wreckage so I think he might be held til later. Lifeline may actually be shipped with Megs because Arcee repaint and if I remember right, Quickslinger shares the same mold as Hi-Q. either way, we will know soon enough.

I think Toxitron will probably be in the last shipment, like how Bludgeon was figure 5 in the last batch and the last part of Thunder Mayhem shipped.

It'd kinda be cool if it was Counterpunch, then Fractyl, then Toxitron, since that's the order their stories were in.

If I had to guess, I'd say Optimus will be the non-combiner in the first shipment, since Megatron has a shell whose mold would otherwise be basically impossible to get and Lifeline IIRC got a lot of buzz and people want her just because she's a G1 cartoon background character.

I have a feeling there'll be one combined member per shipment, with the others mixed in.

I doubt Lifeline and Megatron would be in the same shipment, even if their accessory bite share the same mould, it all arrived at the same time

It occurs to me that even if the bonus figure is Sunstorm, that doesn't necessarily mean they'll make him from Starscream. Armada Thrust's mold was used for a Sunstorm too, after all.

Actually, it's Lifeline and Optimus whose partners share molds.

Ah, fair enough. Although the mystery figure could theoretically turn out to be someone who was in the story, so I'd hold off on placing it. And now that I think about it, wasn't Megatron technically the first to show up, albeit disguised as a human?
