Please stop making ugly figures with crappy movie molds!

Me think we'll be digging in the origins of the two Generals, via G1/G2. After all, in Beast Machines they were described as the greatest strategic minds of history, we'll probably get to see that in action here.

Another thing...why do I see so many people get upset about the addition of new characters in Machine Wars, especially these characters, when they specifically "warned" us that they were doing this beforehand?

As for Obsidian, I like it, but would have preferred this:

I'ght
D.O.T.M Skyhammer
Movie Incinerator
F.O.C Vortex (kept him scale with Strika)
H.F.T.D Tomahawk (though over used)
There are few common themes in these figures that make them better for the homage. One, they are figures small enough to stay in relative scale with strika, and they are stelth and military helicopters, which fit within the relm of homage.

DotM Skyhammer: He only has one rotor, I'm predicting him for Sandstorm.
Movie Incinerator: That could have worked actually, if it wasn't for the lack of hands
FOC Vortex: Too recent, molds have to be at least a year old. Plus, only one rotor
HftD Tomahawk: Already used for 2012 Spinister, and again, one rotor.

You just asked for molds, I have no control on whether or not fupub can use them, or reuse them, plus there have only been a few Osprey molds, so you kinda have to reach for helicopters for the homage XD

True, but that would be cutting corners, even for FunPub.

So what if the Incinerator figure doesn't have hands. Obsidian's first toy didn't have hands either.

I do wish Obsidian and Strika were the same size-class, but I don't think the available molds allow for that. Well, with decent results at least.

We still have the walk-in figures to think of. Plus the fifth figure of the 5-box set. It's more than likely we might see Megatron/Megaplex and Optimus as additional sets.

Likewise. Beast Machines should never be touched only if they're rocking an all in, well designed Anniversary molds that are show accurate.

Well, for starters, how's about something that turns into a helicopter? You know, the way Obsidian did? I'm sure that's a real stretch, but...
Hell man, even that Lugnut digibash looks better than this, and I LOVE that Highbrow or whoever mold. New head looks very nice though.

I hope that you weren't talking about me. I wasn't upset. I was just curious. I figured that there was a good chance that I missed it or didn’t know where to look. I was just asking for clarification or a reminder. I don't have a problem with it, it makes sense to me, and I appreciate what Jelze and Sabr said.
I haven’t bothered to go to Botcon.com but now that I did I thought the info was cool:
“02/21/2013 - Here is our 4th reveal... MACHINE WARS Obsidian! Originally featured on the Beast Machines cartoon alongside his consort Strika, Obsidian is a Cybertronian General and a NEW addition to the MACHINE WARS line and mythos. He is available EXCLUSIVELY as part of the 5 figure MACHINE WARS box set. Keep tuned in here as these toys will be available for purchase through our registration system very soon.”

While I don't imagine them being part of the box set, I think there's a good chance that MW Skywarp remold will also be used for MW Thundercracker and Hoist will be MW Hubcap. Maybe as a separate two pack or attendance freebie.
Posted by RiddlerJ on February 21st, 2013 @ 7:15pm CST
Oddly, the Classics Mirage mold would probably still be the best bet for MW Mirage and Prowl except that it is so old and has already been used so much. Maybe DotM Drag Strip
Universe Silverbolt for Starscream? Another mold that may be too old by now.
Cybertron Defence Red Alert would be perfect for Soundwave but again, see above.
Yeah, the only one that I can see is DotM Skyhammer as Sandstorm like JelZe GoldRabbit said.

MACHINE WARS
MW takes place AFTER G1/G2 but BEFORE The Great Reformatting.
Strika and Obsidian were THE GREATEST GENERALS IN THE HISTORY OF CYBERTRON according to Beast Machines.
But we never saw ANY of it.
They are being worked into the brand new MACHINE WARS stories.
People, we've gotten TWO characters from BM. TWO. Two characters who have a place in G1 cannon, but who have never seen it realized before. MACHINE WARS. NOT BEAST MACHINES.
Sorry, it's just a tad frustrating seeing that questioned asked so many times, when it's clearly answered already.
Edit: This isn't directed directly at you. It's for everyone. It's just kind of annoying me that people don't get it. It's in the blasted TITLE. Machine Wars.
For those who don't know.
Machine Wars was a short-lived (1 wave) toy line that occurred in the middle of the Beast Wars toyline and was a KB toys exclusive. There was NEVER any associated story material outside of the toys bios. That's what this Botcon is seeking to rectify.

Actually, I seem to recall Obsidian is actually hovering, his feet/tail is about a half a head off the ground, which means for all intents and purposes he appears to be Strika's height...
I really liked this figure until someone mentioned Incinerator, and now i want an Incinerator repaint, but if I recall, isn't that figure now wrapped in movie related red tape, (licensing?) or is there some other reason we haven't gotten a reapint out of it? The Lugnut repaint is a good use of the Lugnut mold, a figure arguably trapped bu its own uniqueness. The Highbrow figure I like, but I just nabbed Powerdive and as cool as it is, and I like the Obsidian paint scheme, i just don't want to sully Powerdive...
Too bad Obsidian didn't maintain the flight helmet gimic of his moldmates' heads..

I have a feeling they went for the toy accurate bright green because the cartoon accurate drab green would make it look too much like GDO Powerdive.
