Either a one step thing or they weren't able to acquire a licence to model toys to an accurate Aston Martin the symbol is on the side of the car though.
Probably more of a rotf Sideways situation then a Dino/Mirage one.

The fact it seems to have the Aston Martin symbol makes it a licensed model. One-Steps always have some design compromises in order to accommodate the gimmick.
Speaking of models, is there a list somewhere of all the models used?

It's not a compromise thing, it just doesn't look like an Aston. The details are all off.

RAR wrote:Which Faction is Cogman - and do we even know why he's called that ?
Cogman is an Autobot Headmaster and it's just character name made up for the movies which is fine new characters keep thing fresh.
This is his headmaster's robot form notice the gears and cogs in his details.

Here is his bio as described by Tfwiki
Cogman is a Headmaster, diminutive in size for a Transformer. As the faithful manservant of Sir Edmund Burton, he's very polite and proper, but suffers from... "anger issues."

Honestly after Rogue one and the fact that Alan Tudyk was already in DOTM I'm getting that feeling in my guy that Alan will be voicing Cogman.

I thought Cogman was a silly name when I first saw it but it's grown on me especially from what we know about the character so far.
Have to admit I love those cog details on him too. A lil too intricate to work on the toy though?

There are a few more TF names out there that are also human names, be they first names or last names.Emerje wrote:Cogman isn't an entirely uncommon surname in England which puts the character in rare company with Shrapnel (the shards of exploded metal and debris the Insecticon is named for comes from British Lieutenant General Henry Shrapnel). The name cogman originally comes from the seller of coarse cloth or cogware. Incidentally, a cog is the tooth of a gear, not the gear itself.

Dino is a good example I used to dislike the name but when I think of how he was supposed to be named Mirage I think it fits since Dino sounds a bit exotic which fits with G1 Mirage being high class.
And it sounds cool to say dee-no just like mi-raaagee
My head canon (which is not a fact OK) in the movieverse transformers with more "human" names were of the higher class and rich citizens and most of them were killed during the war because of stereotypical most rich people are incompetent tropes.

I know, I didn't say they were the only two, just that it's rare. I only used Shrapnel as a popular example.

Not even joking, he's his robot butler.

This isn't entirely related to the toys, but are those teeth on Cogman's cheeks? It kinda looks like he has a huge mouth and the scuba mouth thing is covering the front of it.

Jesus Christ, that's terrifying. I just imagine some horror movie where he scuttles on all fours and has this gigantic mouth with thousands of teeth and a super-long pointed tongue. Bleh.

Bronzewolf wrote:Uhmm, okay, that's not an Aston in any way shape or form, and it seems kind of strange to just plaster the logo on the side of a car that looks nothing like any car they make. Especially when they could.have put it on the front of the car, like actual Aston Martins. Has anything like this happened before? Like, a one step/legion class Bumblebee that doesn't look like a camaro and the just put the Chevy logo in some random place? Hmm![]()

Doesn't Grimlock from IDW have a similar thing going on? Or Mileena from those Mortal Kombat games since they gave her lips?

If he's a Headmasters (head) then
Why the car mode (does he have a tector body or the ability to capture earth tech to make it into a body for him.
Or does he have a partner character he turns into the head of.
He does solve one issue Bay has been reluctant to deal with which is talking in vehicle mode (though Mudflap and Skids did it very briefly). as when in vehicle mode he'd be sitting in the vehicle and if a human was with him he'd be able to conduct a normal conversation.
So just an observation anyway.
