TF cost a 100 million, and they made 600 million profit. Not bad. Can't wait for the sequel!

comon people, lets help it win an award.
Looks like a three way race at this point. As much as I liked TF, "300" was the better movie...at the very least, can we try to beat out Harry Plopper and the Something of Somewhere?

well honestly, i'm pretty sure 90% of the money raked in came from non-fans and/or regular moviegoers...but i think that makes it even more impressive so yay..lol

No seriously.
Special Effects, yeah. Best Picture, no. Not a chance in the lowest depths of Hell.
$700+ eh? That was seriously unexpected. With DVD sales, I can expect to see it go well beyond a billion.

I don't know the exact percentage (Just cuz I'm too lazy to calculate) but $74 of that is mine! (6 times in the theather and once on Imax)

I saw this six times in the Century 20 (premier) theatre, once in the Century 12 (cheap), and once in the IMAX up in Phoenix. BUT, I went with my sister on all eight trips, and my dad came along for the trip to IMAX.
So $12 per each of the first six visits is $72, plus two convenience charges for purchasing online tickets for the first three trips brings it to $78. The cheap theatre was $6.50 for two tickets, and IMAX was about $43 for three tickets.
My grand total contribution to Transformers comes to: $127.50
And it was worth every penny, every time.

This is what got Austin Powers 2 made. It suffered dismal sales at the box office, but because of the amazing DVD sales it sparked interest to make part 2, so I really would like to see how many units this film sells this week.
