Courtesy of fellow Seibertronian and Twincast Podcast member megatronus, we have some images of the Transformers The Last Knight billboard that went up earlier this afternoon in Times Square. This billboard of the upcoming film from Paramount, features Optimus Prime, brandishing his sword, and facing off against 3 monstrous looking creatures. A tattered Decepticon flag is in the background along with some various structures or towers. The billboard is located at 1196 6th Ave (cross street is 47th St) in midtown Manhattan, close to Times Square. That's definitely a V. Could just be there as the roman numeral for 5 or maybe for Victory? I don't see them using any Victory-era Decepticons but maybe there was an Autobot-Decepticon war wherever Optimus is and the Decepticons won.

They've been using that V for a while now. We've seen it with Optimus Prime's head, the new Transformers title logo replaces the A with an upside down V, and whatever the new Earth military team is uses an upside down V. That Decepticon symbol could just be another movie logo and not something actually from the movie. They're really pushing the whole 5/V thing.

Based on Age of Extinction it does seem likely that the Quintesson will be a part of this movie.

The con emblem looks like a deformed G2 one, probably not even a decepticon emblem though most likely belongs to the human villain cause we all know theres going to be one. and im calling it now optimus is rom or rom is a prime

Given Bay's track record, it's probably something new and will be killed off in some explosive final act scene.

That thing hardly looks like it's going to be an intellectual character so I think unless you have the luck and possibly wits of Barricade your to big of a threat not to kill off.

Probably not since Lennox is part of them from what we can tell.

Plus that upside down V is a popular military logo since it's based off the logo of the old Spartans.

Or maybe it's Knights vs Spartans with The Knights being the Autobots and the Spartans being the Decepticons and the comparisons are disturbingly similar with Autobots being Honorable warriors and peacekeepers like Knights are stereotypically in media and the Spartans often being portrayed as very violent and brutal but with there still being some sort of honorable code in battle.

Crap I feel like writing a fan fic about that concept with maybe some of Game of Thrones style in it...

They could still introduce unicron in this movie but leave fighting him till the next movie. This way, it could build the mythos of the character up and still give him a whole movie to fulfill his ego.

Same reason the Driller and Shockwave got a lot of media exposure in the lead-up to DOTM... only to show up and say "hey yo prime I exist cya later" at the start of the film then show up waaaaaay later only to die without doing much of anything

Because they're saving them for the actual movie, or at least a trailer. Why would the spoil the main villain this early? They knew they could put something on there that no one has any idea what it is, and that would gain people's interests. We've seen Megatron countless times before, and they didn't spoil the Creators in AOE. What makes you think they'd spoil them in TLK promotion?

Because the studio doesn't really care that much? They know this movie will make them a big profit because Bay is directing it. Probably they could care less what advertising looks like or spoils, as long as it draws in moviegoers. Plus the toys tend to spoil the villains within months of release.
