Let's start once again with a big green bang, shall we? Check out below Scrapper, Hook, Long Haul, Bonecrusher, Mixmaster and Scavenger, in vehicle, robot and bigger robot form: Devastator!

This is really nice because of it's scale and being an officially licensed Hasbro product. I still place it beneath Hercules and possibly even the ROTF Devestator. Thanks for sharing!

Long Haul had his shins blown off by a machine gun in the war.

So the robot modes are trash...Oh well. Vehicle and combined mode are insane and Im okay with that. He would probably be displayed in only those two anyways.

I assume you could do a better design? Be our guest. Humans! The right of all sentient beings. No pleasing them at all.

Hook's shoulder is kind of a problem with the durability. Hope it won't break. Otherwise, they all look AWESOME updates!

I think the robot modes look okay, but hate the elbow joints so very much. It makes the forearm look floppy and incomplete. I don't mind the hollowness or the odd proportions, but those tiny limbs hanging off massive shoulders just kind of loses me aesthetically.

Still gonna buy him for that combined mode, though. :ic$:

Long Haul would take a bullet for his grandson, but not in the face. That's how he makes his livings.

I gotta say, The Constructicons/Devastator are some of my favorite dudes from G1, and seeing them like this makes me want to switch jobs to something that pays more! Wow. All of them are perfect! Mixmaster is backwards, and I ain't even mad! Longhaul looks like a dumpy (heh heh) little guy and I love it! XD

I need dis.

Long Haul saw the Grim Reaper, and he kicked him in the stones and spit in his eye, and told him it ain't his time yet.

Wow these look surprisingly good. The detail is there too unlike the recent Combiner Wars figures.

The only sad thing is that Mixmaster gets a derpy cabmode again. TFC, Maketoys and now Hasbro are giving him the short end of the stick. I hope they alter him a bit before his release. All of the vehicle modes are very G1 and he looks so futuristic that i don't know what's the front or the back of him to be honest. Maybe he is mistransformed?

Funnily enough I think the thing that bugs me most is that mixmaster's barrell doesn't roll.

The individual robot modes aren't the best they could be.. Granted. Once I get all conifers I think I'll follow same pattern as my g1 displays... Superion and devy in combined mode.. Stunt icons in individual robots.

I still can't get over as to how close they are to the original robot modes most of these are.

the devy combined mode definitely follows that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts

Nope, that's how he is. He actually is based on a real type of Cement Truck which seems "reversed" with the drum over the cab, a so-called "front discharge" model instead of the traditional "rear discharge".

Let the dirty jokes commence.

And plus, with the way they arranged mixmaster on the show floor, people could always just pose him reverse in alt mode and it wouldnt look too bad:

And Mixmaster...they have him facing the wrong way on display at Toy Fair and he is based on a REAL WORLD mixer...granted, I had never seen one like it till someone posted a pic on here during the "wheres his cab" debate. My thanks to whomever enlightened us, and bravo, you were spot on brother!!

Whether you believe this or not, the ability to produce something better is not a prerequisite for not liking something. In other words, I don't have to be capable of designing a better toy to be allowed to not like this one.

Which is fortunate, because I think these look cheap. I don't like the hollow gaps, I really had a good laugh at the elbows on most of these guys, and I think Devastator in general is underwhelming. I thought he looked better in the Nuremburg picture, though, and even then he was not all that impressive. The bots do certainly look like a nice update of the G1 figures though, and Scrapper especially looks nice in robot mode. I think Long Haul looks real sad, but I do realize that it's probably a terrible looking figure in order to satisfy his role in the combined form.
If these were 10-13 bucks separately at retail, I would most likely be all in. For 150 though, it's pretty much an impossible sell for me.

All I can say is that the rest of the Constructicons have a decidedly European feel to them in terms of design but Long Haul is 100% American and very obviously in a supervisory role. Are we sure that he isn't part of the DotM Wreckers crew? He looks like he should have a "Body by Budwiser" bumper sticker plastered on his front bumper. :P

Here's hoping that G2 redeco of Devastator for Comic Con turns out to be true!

Maybe they'll do some paint magic and paint the bridge of Devastator's "shades" the same color as his face, to give him the two-eyed design the G2 toy had.

Also, it's been a long time since I had the G2 Constructicons in hand, but did the individual members have yellow Eyes or Red? I know Devastator had Yellow eyes, but I can't remember what the members had.

I like keeping tabs on the rumours. Our old pal Chuck had previously reported that these same constructicons would be released as individual MPs in Japan. While this does not outright prove that rumour false, I really dont see these as MP material, especially for individual release (though the combined form looks like an MP and fits the scale). So Chuck are you having doubts on that rumour too?

10-13 Bucks?!? Deluxes aren't even 10-13 bucks (such a random amount #-o ). Hell, I honestly don't remember a time when anything Voyager size was in that price range. :HEADHURTS:

Of course, we are all entitled to our opinions, but if someone doesn't like it can't we leave it as that instead of a long drawn out diatribe that seems intent on sucking the life out of a conversation? :BANG_HEAD:

Voyagers with almost completely hollow legs... and even no elbows? Sure, Devastator looks nice in combined mode, but the Constructicons look a bit too cheap-made for me.

For me, this is the only 'must have' that I saw from the show. There are a few problems, such as Hook's elbows, but for the most part, this looks great. I hated gen. Jetfire because of the hollow areas, but they don't look that bad on the constructicons. The hollow silver thighs can be overlooked and the other hollows look like they might be like that for transformation, which is acceptable. I'm not liking the black hands, though. Those suckers should be purple (and mine will be)

Not an apologist for Hasbro/Tomy. I too hated the non strategically located hollow parts of the arms. WT# were they thinking?!

But, even back in 1988, PM Optimus Prime had a lot of hollow parts too but you didn't notice them because they were hollowed out strategically. So not really surprising.

Just hope we all can manage to get him before the scalpers get to him.

I have a feeling this guy will have a much wider distribution than previous exclusives. Hasbro spent extra money making this guy eligible for international distribution with the translations, which hints at a much larger production number. I have a good feeling he'll be more available than even the stateside masterpiece releases have been.

Amen to that. I'll pay Hasbro $150, but I'll be damned if I'll pay $250-300 to some scalper for this. Maybe they'll saturate the market like they did with Metroplex to make the scalpers no longer an issue

I like a $120 price point better (6 Voyagers x $20), but I'll begrudgingly pay the $150. Need to see more pics of the individual guys, but I don't think they're that bad. Kind of glad I waited and didn't spring for a 3rd party Devy. Just throwing it out there - do u think this Devy will hit Costcos? Was nice pickin up Metroplex for 80 bux. :-)

People always ask why I don't have any 3rd Party stuff, and this is really why. Patience. I'm not anti 3P. I think there is alot of cool stuff out there. I've just learned to wait. All these new combiners are great proof of this.

Hey scale-nerds! Oh, wait a minute, that's ME! :P

If this official Combiner Wars Devastator is around a foot and a half and the other Combiner Wars Gestalts (Superion, Menasor, Defensor etc) are around a foot, this Devy is going to look a bit silly alongside his combining buddies! ;)

For me, if these 'Voyager' figures had the usual sort of engineering we have come to expect, before Hasbro went the way of the 'Upscale', I may have bought this as a display piece whilst I wait for the regular sized Combiner Wars Devy, you know, the one that scales with the rest of the line!!!

Hasbro, Im on to your Devy game. Oh yes! :CON:

For me, if these 'Voyager' figures had the usual sort of engineering we have come to expect, before Hasbro went the way of the 'Upscale', I may have bought this as a display piece whilst I wait for the regular sized Combiner Wars Devy, you know, the one that scales with the rest of the line!!!

Hasbro, Im on to your Devy game. Oh yes! :CON:

He already is in scale. Have you seen how big construction vehicles get? Long Haul, especially, and even then, he's too small.

Waiting to see the Takara version and planning on dropping another $150 on the inevitable upgrade kits.

Lol - I should've said purple hands. I'm fine with black forearms and purple hands or purple forearms and hands. The black on black hasbro used is my least favorite choice.

Firslty from hasbro

6 Voyager Class Constructicons, one bad bot. Eighteen inches of G1-deco devastation.

I hope the G2 redeco rumor turns out to be true, and we get Yellow Devastator at Comic Con.

And you KNOW Takara is going to make the Purple hand version with crazy good paint apps.
