wow.
What were you expecting?
From the clear protoforms to Lawson gold Bumblebee, from Wonderfest Arcee to Chara Soundwave, ALL of the Japanese Movie exclusives have thus far been released in standard packaging with a 'limited edition colour' sticker.

Don't even get me started on ROTF packaging in Japan. EVERYTHING in English except for the instructions and a couple of stickers? The poor locals have to buy the tie-in books if they want to know what these guys are all about.

And it looks like someone rolled those toys around in baby poop. Sand doesn't stick to cars like that.

Maybe I just have a different outlook on life - as they say, a pessimist is never disappointed.
I have to agree that these exclusives are pretty lame. But exclusive they are, and they come in a pack marked with the magic word 'Transformers'. So there'll always be people who'll buy these, whatever the quality may be.
Maybe they'll look better when I see them in hand.

Sure, if you had to pick 'n' choose your DVD exclusives, then Prime is the most impressive (and most freely available), and the clear Bumblebee is probably the one that'll appreciate the most in price (judging by the current availability of the golden tsutaya EZ Bee from the first movie).
However, unlike your good self, there are a helluva lot of completists out there who won't be satisfied with just Black Prime.
