Ive never seen so many super expensive non transforming statue-bots as I have seen in the last 6 months. From Unicron lamps, to obscure characters like Tarn, theyre popping up everywhere. Is there really a market for $500 and up statues in the collector base of transforming robots? Or are these artists just trying to start a new trend and hoping fans buy into it? Is there something Im not seeing in these statues that the MP line doesnt already have plus more?

Well, that's it. I really want that MAS Megatron if I can get it
I can't speak for the Soundwave statue vs. MP Soundwave. But the MP Megatron transformation is, IMO, prohibitively complicated to the point where I'd likely leave it in robot mode anyway. And if I'm going to leave it in robot mode, then I may as well get this really, really awesome one....

Yeah I transformed MP Megs ONCE and that was enough. His transformations is like, really really fiddly and I was worried about breaking the guy. He just ain't fun to transform so hes perma-bot on display now. Never have any problems with Soundwave, but watch out on his bird-bots! I had to get new ones from Takara cause I damaged Buzzsaw's leg. I think my fav masterpiece is Ultra Magnus. He's actually fun to transform and I don't worry about breaking anything.

We've seen a coloured teaser for the Hasbro licensed Toys Alliance MAS-02 Megatron figure back

Why would anyone want this non transforming statue bot when they can have MP-36? I dunno about you guys, but I like my Transformers to actually transform. Im not into action figures. I never considered Transformers "action figures" and I definitely dont consider this figure a "Transformer". Id either call it a "Transformers related product" or the worlds largest Action Master.

Man... I have MP-36, and let me tell you... transforming him is NOT FUN dude. I was worried about breakage the entire time and it's simply an unpleasant transformation. I love the guy but he's staying in robo mode permanently as I ain't breaking a $200 toy. No way, no how. I have MP-10 so I was gonna get him no matter what, but for someone that just wants a G1 style Megatron and doesn't care about transforming him the MAS-02 kind of makes sense.

Yep, what he said. While MP Megatron is awesome, my thought process is that if he's too complicated to transform, and I wind up leaving him in robot mode anyway, why not get MAS02, who was designed specifically to be awesome in robot mode...?

The MAS-01 is epic and the joints are tight. As far as these figures not actually transforming, they are still great display pieces. You can always pick up the MP figures and pay a bit more for a transformable figure that is also cartoon accurate. I own the MP-05 (huge disappointment) and MP-36, both of which remained in robot mode whenever displayed. At one point I owned Apollyon and he also remained in robot mode. It seems at my age I prefer to set up dioramas with the majority of my Transformers in robot mode. It boils down to personal preference. All I know is this MAS-02 is going to look great displayed next to my MAS-01. PRE-ORDERED! BBTS Can't wait for December/Christmas.

These pictures cement my happiness in my decision to pre-order this bad boy. This is going to go great with my MAS Optimus. CAN'T WAIT.

Hot off the heels of the release of
MAS-02 Megatron mega action figure we are graced with a tease of the next offering from them. The
Toys Alliance Facebook page did a preview post of what will probably be MAS-03(?) and it is none other than Decepticon Communications Officer and Spymaster, Soundwave. While they added a question mark after MAS-03 teasing the idea of it, we are going to hedge our bets here on the fact this is next. It is assuredly a fitting choice too in going from Megatron to Soundwave. Here is the tease below that they posted on their page:

I really like this line and the price point is pretty good. I just don't have the space with a mostly Masterpiece collection.

We had seen a fair while back the
tease for the next project in the officially licensed Toys Alliance Mega Action Series Transformers figure line, after Optimus Prime and Megatron, but it looks like we're even closer to getting a proper look at the new product soon: MAS-03 Soundwave has both a poster and a grey prototype now!
Found over on the Tag Hobby
website, we get a couple of images showing off the design and the prototype, plus the confirmation that the company will be attending this weekend's Hong Kong Animation-Comic-Game (ACGHK) 2018 so we may actually see the prototype in person there. Check it out below for now, and stay tuned for more!

If I could just have the money sucked out of my bank account and one of these dropped from the sky into my hands as soon as possible that would be great.

Following the
tease earlier today, we have new images of the upcoming Toys alliance Mega Action Series 03 Soundwave, via the
Hobbymizer Hong Kong Facebook page. The new giant statue of Soundwave is a new slightly stylized take on his G1 self, complete with tape deck, shoulder cannon (stored behind his back in these shots) and hand gun. He also comes with Laserbeak perching on his shoulder in the pictures shown, and another Laserbeak is seen in tape mode, with some panel lines suggesting it either does something, or the panel lines are an homage to the original tape form.
Also cool to see is that Soundwave appears to be able to carry fully sized cassette tapes, as a copy of Awesome Mix Volume 2 (nice Guardians of the Galaxy reference!) can be seen actually sitting in his chest.
Check out some of the images below, and you can go to the Facebook page to see all the shots of the MAS crew!

Doubt it, as these are just statues and not meant to Transform.

So one of laserbeaks back finds is molded crooked and the hinges are for show

Correction: Mega Action series are fully articulated giant action figures, but not transformable (Hasbro doesn't allow it on licensed figures). So Laserbeak has working articulation, but doesn't turn into a tape. He does appear to have the same type of chest door mechanism that opens by pushing the button on top.
