At Seibertron.com, our forums are not only used for tantalizing TF discussion and debate. Many times the news staff can find some frontpage worthy news there as well.
Such was the case today, when valued board members nemesis-prime, Kibble, Powersa, War_On_Errorism and Hip-Hoptimus Rime alerted us of a really cool sale that Toys R' Us was having. Included in this sale are Universe Voyager and Ultra Class figures along with Animated Leader and Supreme Class toys. All of these action figures are an amazing 50% off so this is a great time to catch up on any that you may have missed. Unfortunately, the TRU Exclusive figures such as Countdown are NOT included but there are still some awesome deals to be had, especially considering that these voyager and ultra figures are priced less than deluxes!
There have been reports of this sale being offered both online and in-store but it is not known how long it will last in either capacity.

Yes, although they weren't really promoting the fact at the store I was at. I saw one discounted price tag for Powerglide for 12.99, but that was it. Other than that one I had to bring each fig up to the price scanner to check. FWIW, everything I checked matched the website prices. Unfortunately I didn't check leader Animated Megatron, which isn't listed on the site at all, so that may or may not be on sale as well. And I believe the Powerglide tag said the sale went through the week...

Sounds good. My TRU had maybe 5 Magnuses in stock Friday, so I'll check after work tomorrow. (Un)Fortunately, my credit card company is running maintenance on their systems, so I can't make any impulsive purchases online.

Thanks for the tip. I got Universe Voyagers last friday at my local TRU for 50% off, but the others scanned at full price. I'll hit them again today to see if I can get extra Magnuses for 50% off too.

Just in case anyone gets spooked. If they price check it and it rings up normal price, Have them ring it up as if you were actually going to purchase it. The sale price will only show then....

Great deal actually. I just picked up Ultra Class Silverbolt and Voyager Class Heavy Load (Quick Mix), for about twenty four dollars and change at TRU. I saved about twenty three dollars!! Pick them up while you can. At the scanner, it said that this sale is going on until 7/18/09, so pick up what your missing before it ends.

Hopefully someone can confirm, but I would assume the answer is yes. I know both Animated leaders available on the site are on sale, but Megs isn't listed at all. You could probably make a pretty compelling argument to a manager if it did ring up full price, though...
I don't think I've ever checked...does TRU differentiate all their figures on the receipt like Walmart, or do they use the same codes for all like-class figures as Target does?

well the real sale in the flyer is 50% animated supreme, leader, and bumper battlers.
so if they have a megatron leader in the store, it should be 50% off jst grab the weekly ad when u walk in.
this also explains why the ultra exclusives are not 50% off since the ad does not say anything about universe figures.

Stopped by my local TRU last night.
They still had the tag up saying Universe Voyagers were 50% off, but they were all gone.
HOWEVER, they had a NEW deal: Ultra Powerglide for 50% off! I already have him, but now I'm wondering if they'll mark down some other older figures. They've got some Darkwinds that have been sitting there for a while.

Walked into my local TRU and found that an employee put the 50% off tag under the TF2 voyagers as well. But only in the action figure aisle, not where the huge transformers ROTF section is right now. So I was able to get a mixmaster for $11.51 and after using the ten dollar gift card I only paid $1.51! I wouldve grabbed more but the only other voyagers they had were megatron, but I purchased him a few weeks back

The sale ends saturday. It says it in little letters on the tag. It also works with ROTF voyagers you just have to argue a little. Make sure there are ROTF toys near the tag though. Otherwise it wont work. I didnt get to exploit this since there were no voyagers i wanted but my friend got Ironhide for $11. I got Leader Magnus for $6. Used my $10 card and my $5 reward thing. Id say thats a win.

I went to my local TRU today. I was only interested in the Universe toys, although their Animated selection was much better.
For Universe they were down to Tread Bolt and Powerglide. While Powerglide is "pretty fly for a white guy", I opted for Tread Bolt instead. I'm debating whether to put him with my normal Universe or with my Shatterd Glass. Thoughts?

What I love about this figure is his versatility - you can change his look in so many ways - helmet on or off, wings, up or down or out, backpack or or off..you can even leave the plane nose down or not (all in robot mode)
And that blue face is just beyond cool.

I almost missed out on this sale. I saw it online this morning and raced over to TRU to see if anything was left. I picked up the last Leader Ultra Magnus for $20. What a deal!
I absolutely love him, but I was never going to shell out $40+. Great bot mode and surprisingly good Alt mode. I love the hidden guns and sound effects.

I balked at first, but I love some of the animated figures. I have Magnus, Prowl and Jazz now. They are terrific figures. Much better than some of the ROTF Decepticons with the hideous heads. Shockwave with the G1 coloring, Rodimus and Arcee are on my wish list.
I'm returning some of my unopened ROTF figures tomorrow. Mixmaster, Ravage and Mudflap. I'm going to save my money for some of the HA figures coming out.

I picked up Powerglide for 12.99, and ripped his (paint removed) arms and thighs off for my Henkei version... mmm... G1 goodness.
