Transformers 2 Writers Confirmed, Digital Pre-Visualisation of TFs Already Underway!

Who the hell has been setting these guys butts on fire? Granted its a good strategy but still... Guess maybe Hasbro's fighting to keep the franchise alive.

The threat of a writer's strike in Hollywood has everyone running around to get this porject rolling so incase the strike does happen, then there won't be delayed by it.

If the sequal was delayed by a strike, it could be several years before the sequal come out or cripple the project to the point that all production would cease and the movie would never be made.

This leads me to believe that some of this "fanfiction" may be true and certain designs may be in affect.

As crazy as this sounds coming from me, I hope they dont stick with striclty G1 bots. I think all of TF fandom deserves a nod if this is to be a true trilogy.

It appears to me that the public has spoken. Doubts at first in regards to the first movie, but when it came out it got more attention then anyone probably could've imagined. The public wants more Transformers and to me, we're certainly gonna get what we want.

Well, one way or another all Transformers are derived from G1.

You have to admit though, that was epic crack. But if they threw that out on purpose to get feedback, then maybe they'll take some elements and put it into the sequel. And I bet Bay is happy about the aircraft carrier being in there.

Sure why not? Its a new continuity. There's already a G1 reboot anyway(IDWverse comics). But it all boils down to characterization in the end.

BTW I don't want it to be strictly a trilogy. Becuase if the sequel turns out to be epic, then they just wasted the first movie!

I finally got the full treatment aswell.

Maybe it won't be used for the actual movie but damn if it didn't tug at my heartstrings.

I hope they put some of this in the sequel. Too good to pass up.

Devastator gets his ass whooped by Ultra Magnus who is a freightliner which carries a bunch of Autobots. He only takes out his leg though.

I wish we weren't being informed on this all yet.

I know Hollywood moves quick, but I can see it now, we're gonna know everything 16 months in advance, then get pissed cause we still have to wait for new srories and product.

However if they fold and release images and products early, we loose the suprizes of TF2, whatever they may be.

So much like with TF1, I'm gonna be very picky about what TF2 stories I start looking at.

Having worked in pre-viz before, all I can say is that I would not want to trade places with the guys that have to do the pre-viz for this bunch.

I'm still wondering how they plan to bring Devastator into TF2 when Bay made a point of keeping Brawl's name as Devastator in the DVD - subsequently renaming the movie character for life and making Hasbro's toy version of Brawl completely moot. Even if they don't say his name out loud in the actual movie, everyone will know *it is* Devastator - then the confusion from casual fans will ensue as everyone under the sun starts asking "then why is that tank from TF1 called Devastator?". All Bay needed to do was suck it up, put his ego and own sense of brilliance in the backseat and changed the name to back Brawl in the DVD and things would have been fine. What's next, a red van showing up also named Ironhide? Or a white ambulance also named Ratchet? How about an entirely new character also named Blackout?

Yes, I'm very annoyed at how such a small problem that could have easily been resolved in one line of subtitle text has now mushroom clouded into what it has because of one character.

Since all the hard work has been done for modelling the main players from Movie 1, and the style of the film has been set with the first film, the digital effects guys have slightly less work to do too.

Still, I expect Hasbro to push for many reformats for surviving TF#1 survivors, so they can make more $$$ off the toys, so the poor CGI teams may be back to square 1 soon.

I'm pretty sure we will see one of the following in the upcoming sequel...

1) The Constructicons... they might just merge to form Constructicon lol... since Devastator is/was a taken name.
2) Jetfire
3) The return of Megatron
4) Shockwave and/or Soundwave (who will probably have something to do with #3)
5) Megatron vs. Starscream
6) Bumblebee gets hurt some more
7) Sam and Mikaela do something to save one or all of the Autobots
8 ) More TF/U.S. military action
9) A hint about Unicron lurking out there
10) More crazy and confusing battle scenes

dang already tf 2 tf 1 just came out!

Hmmm...perhaps this means we'l have a rough representation of Soundwave & Grimlock in the near future for: A) the fans to bash endlessly & B) for me to praise that Soundwave could even be in the movie. We'll see........

Oh I doubt they'll even have that triangle issue. Bay didn't include Arcee in the first movie because he wasn't sure how to handle a female TransFormer in the film. A love story between alien robots would definitely go beyond his grasp then.

That's not putting him down. That's saying any director would have difficulty bringing such a thing to life. Well...and making it worthwhile. The audiences would definitely be mixed on that issue.

Fans would be hootin' and hollerin' for it. Mainstream audiences would say "Wow. I thought the idea of giant alien robots was bad enough, but a love triangle? Seriously? How preposterous. This is far more stupid than the last one. Don't waste your money folks!"

How about a Mikaela-Sam-Carly love triangle?

What I care about the most (other than great characters/bots) is a great story. I don't want to see a rushed crap story/script, the the sequel bombs. Heaven forbid!

Not a bad idea.....and it would flow with the ending of the first film....with Screamer leaving to maybee get reinforcments.If it were me I would go in search of a few friends that I thought I could trust.
