They wouldn't redesign and streamline Bumblebee into a newer model, if they were going back in time and changing his look.
Plus with Patrick Dempsey being in the cast as Mikaela's boss (which wasn't mentioned in the suck-o-rama story), this effectively kills off the whole G1/time travel angle.
So, so glad.
And now explains ILM's model redesign for Bumblebee. If they've changed him, I wonder what Prime will look like.
Can you even streamline a semi? (Yes, I know you can make certain mods, but you know what I mean.) Past a certain point, there's only so much you can do with a semi.
Bumblebee does look nice though. I do love the addition of the spoiler, I definitely love the black stripes on the roof (yay, my OCD will quit bugging me!) and I like how smooth his lines are.
However, I think yet another redesign is a bit much. I know they have to keep it updated, and sell cars for GM, but dang. The newest Bumblebee figure is the most accurate and faithful yet, and now they'll have to change it all over again? Geez. C'mon.

You never watched "Trick My Truck", did you?

The design looks like a cross between the 2009 concept from the first film and the 2010 from the second film...in other words; not much difference!

The Z-28 is the supercharged 'top-of-the-line' Camaro.

I wonder if they are using a real, production Camaro. The first movie used a custom Camaro body on a GTO chassis- tricky since the GTO is a unibody. Not sure about ROTF. Seems like it would be easier now to just modify actual Camaros.

That's awesome, and real 'alien' looking. But I don't think it's sexy enough for a summer blockbuster.
Anyhow, spoilers are cool and all, but I don't think "Bumblebee got a new spoiler!!" should really count as a makeover. I put on a clean t shirt this morning, and no one's posting about that. And trust me, that clean t shirt is big, big news.

Yeah, but on the upside, these will have a spoiler, and their racing stripes will be slightly adjusted...

Never have, never want to, that thing is FUGLY! And thats coming from a truck fanatic

Anyway, Bumble Bee is trading looks more than Rhodes is trading actors in Ironman

I'm not all into Megan Fox, but if I wanted a girl that looked latino, I'd date a litino. People that get deep tans start to look pretty nasty after afew years, their skin starts to look like an old baseball glove.

Megatron Wolf wrote:The only reason why they're doing this is to sell more Bumblebee toys. Think about it, make his alt mode look a little different thats 50 new BB toys that can be made. The car looks nice, but i still say it looks like crap in yellow. Bumblebees colors never did and never will do justice to this car.
It has more to do with GM selling more Z-28s. The by-product of that is of course what you said-sell more BBs with a little Z-28 emblem.

Not saying that it's ugly, it's just my personal preference, have a 72 Chevelle and drive a 4th gen. Firebird every day. I'm just a little biased toward the old stuff.

Nah not Rodimus.
I mean, no one told you guys, this is the new design for Unicron......
BWAHAHAHA
As far as the car, meh.
I mean it's nice the Camaro actually got a spoiler this time verses that piece of scrap tin the threw on the later model. Even so, it's nothing ground shaking. All the other little details are so minor I really dont have a feeling one way or the other.
Megs looks like how the rest of us do when we get on the freeway during rush hour for work. We don't want to do it, but we need to get paid. Same concept, she really doesn't want to be doing this, but ya got ta earn a livin. Especially after Jonah Hex...I saw the trailer and just shook my head. It's like the western sequel to Van Helsing.
As far as the no makeup look, it looks like a driving course review. Meaning, Megs character might be doing some stunt driving in the upcoming sequel, which makes sense being she's a car buff and all. Nice to see the writer actually building on something set into Meg's character as established in the first film, verses the whinny girlfriend asking every ten second explosion if Sam loves her.

Agreed 100%. This looks more like a KO you'd find at a fleamarket under Morphbots or something. This is most likely as real as that 'Con Charger for TF3.
Consider the following:
- pieces are riveted together
'Bot logos are all over it (never had any in the previous films)
the antenna is on it (again, not in TF or ROTF)
RS hood
paint job doesn't look the same

Bouncy X wrote:excuse my lack of car knowingness but....whats a spoiler? because the stripes issue aside i dont see the difference. though had i not read here that the stripes were different i wouldnt have even noticed that either so yeah. lol
A spoiler is that fin you see that goes across the Trunk (Rear) of the car. I too don't care for the stripe paint job, but eh...it's not really that big of a deal.
I'm curious as to why some people doubt this is authentic considering we have images of this model with a key Actress from the franchise verses the usual cell phone pics ya see of cars on top of transportation trailers.
Granted, Megan doesn't look like she's there for a shoot, the lack of makeup being the most obvious....At the least I'd say this model is a prototybe they're using to train Megan, but I don't think Megan Fox who doesn't seem too thrilled about pumping out this third film would waste her time on a fan car or prop. I woud say this is the most authentic thing there is here to date concerning TF3.

Looks like the semi truck from an 80s/90s show called "Highwayman." The cab of the truck was actually a helicopter. It was f**king sweet. And it was black.
As for Bumblebee, I like the widening and spreading of the stripes, but the spoiler cheapens the look, IMO. He looked more like the classic Camaro the other way.
