Balancing Update
COMING SOON
Autobot Jazz & Mixmaster - These bots will have equal stats. This means more damage for Autobot Jazz (but less health) and less damage for Mixmaster (but more health). Overall, this change is not large and will be most visible at the high-end spectrum of the game (where the imbalance was greatest), and helps us make the game more balanced AND more fair for all players across both factions.
The situation involving these bots was neither fair nor balanced. A high-level Mixmaster was able to ‘one-shot’ most of the defenses including Mortars, which was never the intention and more of an accidental overlook on my (Game Designer Adam’s) part. The gap between Mixmaster and Autobot Jazz was quite significant since one received damage boost at the cost of health (Mixmaster) while the other was more resilient at the cost of damage (Autobot Jazz). Given that these bots utilize one of the most powerful abilities in the game, the imbalance grew to uncomfortable scale and had to be addressed.
Abilities currently under investigation:
In order to give you a heads-up and be a bit more transparent, we’d like to share a list of changes that we’re currently looking into. These changes are based on player feedback as well as game data and are mostly buffs to abilities that are not there yet, or small tweaks to incredibly effective (and potentially abusive) strategies that cannibalize other bots’ utility.
There are no timings nor exact details for these yet, and as always we would like to hear your feedback!
• Pleasant surprise to Huffer owners (don’t want to spoil it!).
• Defense Hack range increase.
• Further Cluster Strike improvements.
• Mirage/Breakdown EMP buff - radius/duration increase being probable.
• Line Barrage buff.
• Strafe/Scourge on defense (when used in the Outpost) - possibly will deal reduced damage to enemy bots (currently they are more problematic to attackers than anticipated).
• Divebomb/Windblade ability damage may be slightly reduced and/or ability pricing on repeated use may be increased.
• Range of Ultra Magnus/Galvatron ability (possible small increase).
• Bombing Run buff.

They should be prioritising Swoop/Scourge on defense though. That shit is ridiculous.

Team event vs solo. This is about on par with the Ultra Magnus/Galvatron event a few weeks ago.
SPEAKING OF WHICH. What's up with this? Light Our Darkest Hour should be Rodimus and Galvy. Nemesis Prime should be his own (non-movie inspired) event, and Magnus's opposite should ideally have been Scourge or Cyclonus. (Though I don't know who another 'con with the Fire Mission ability could be except ANOTHER seeker clone)
I assume it has to do with game balance since Galvy and Magnus are both bulky specialists, but I picture Rodimus as not being as bulky as an Optimus clone, so their pairing is still weird to me.
EDIT:
Hello Cyclonus!

So it's certainly not without precedent and some would even argue it's a more fitting rivalry for Galvatron than Rodimus.
Agreed. I, too, questioned their choices regarding character pairings, but then I remembered that Simon Furman was writing this thing so I stopped myself from asking that any further.
Though, from the trailer, it appears that they're adding in Hot Spot with Cyclonus likely after this event -- and the two are not analogous in the slightest.

That is insane to nerf Mixmaster. He's my backbone to all my teams.
Without his powerful attack, there goes my team.

"Writing" is a strong word for this game.
Also I'm not terribly familiar with Furman's stuff. I think the only things of his I've read is the War Within comic and the extremely biased Ultimate Guide.

Man I'm really not paying attention. I thought we already had Hot Spot. Clearly I was thinking of Pyra Magna.

It was hardly a match as it were, I was in event zone 6 (1350) with a team with a 4 bots, power of 1472, Starscream is a 3 star level 38, but the main point is that once the range was out, the HQ was completely unprotected. No defenses were triggered once I approached the HQ. Starscream's ability was the only I had to use.
It goes to illustrate my point on having defenses too spread out. A team with range can easily neutrize a base if little or none of the short rage defenses ovelap and protect the HQ. Dude handed me a boatload of APs and the HQ.

And unlike last time, the Bots showed up and fought!
I just want to say good job to my little Cons all our work on defenses is paying off. And everyone did a bang up job on offense as well. We're getting closer to being a competitive gold, keep up the good work!

Blast Off fails to see the significance of walking by himself, considering the need for an "energon pick-me-up" far more pressing a matter
Talking of such messages I find it hard to take Nemesis Prime's personality of being a lifeless creepy husk of a being seriously when he says stuff like "Gimme that energon zing!"
And once AGAIN, talking of Nemesis Prime... anyone find it funny how since we got Galvatron/Ultra Magnus and Nemesis Prime/Rodimus in the past few weeks, we now basically have three leader-type 'bots on each side? Not in terms of abilities of course, but Galvatron, Magnus, Nemesis and Rodimus all have stats far higher than that of the average bot, much like - but not matching - Optimus and Megatron. It kinda seems the intent of EW for each of these three to be leading their own squad imo.

I'll believe it when I see it. I have no doubt they will still walk past weapons just to get to a defensive bot. Here's a thought, have them target the closest thing attacking them!

That would maybe be a baby step up from the current system where they attack the closest building, period. I predict bad results, though, if you skip some weaponry on your rush to the HQ and the AI decides to attack the Laser turret on the other side of the base that is well out of range to hurt you rather than the HQ a few squares away.
And i'm going to bring up something pointed out in the line chat. If each prestige is only 50 rubies, and you get 20 prestiges, and roughly 8-10 rubies per fight.... that's only a few fights from each member of the alliance to max the event, and we're probably locked out of the event zones after, so no more double XP. Pending a correction by Space Ape, the best strategy seems to be for everybody to break away from the alliance and found their own for the event until they get to prestige 20 or the end of day 3, then rejoin the main and we'll finish together.
But this is, again, pending word from Space Ape.

New Characters
This weekend Hot Spot and Cyclonus are making their way through the Space Bridge to join the fight on the battlefield!
Hot Spot
"Never ask anyone to do what you won't do yourself" are practically the words Hot Spot lives by.
He leads by example, always striving to be the best he can be, but never puts himself above those in his command.
You'll find him at the forefront of any battle charge, howling his defiance, cannons blazing, and even when the victory is won, he never truly stands down, always ready to serve... and protect.
Reflective Shield - Put on a protective shield that reflects 50% damage back to the attackers for several seconds, then charge the target. Attracts defenses!
Cyclonus
Though both intelligent and awesomely powerful, Cyclonus is also a cold and consummate professional, one who oozes contempt aimed at those who would undermine the Decepticon cause for personal advancement.
He'd rather earn the respect of his fellow Decepticons through his actions than simply by flexing his muscles.
In both space jet and robot mode he's one of the most physically powerful warriors in existence.
Bombing Run - Drops 12 bombs in a line across the target dealing damage.

I was thinking this was an alliance event, where we collectively add to the total and thus 60 prestige would be reasonable. Was I mistaken?
And if I am mistaken, that doesn't bode well for this weekend when I'll have negligible free time to play the game and earn crystals.

It is an alliance event, yes, but judging by past events we won't get anywhere near 330,000.

We'll fill out the ranks by bringing those that are very active from Seibs II, whatever space we have left we can pick up stragglers (sometimes they turn out to be keepers!). And just do our best. We'll still get crystals, just not 60 of them.

I hate them too.
Also, Kurona... in the last alliance event, several of us scored 5000+, 6000+ bps. Some of us did, others sulked and barely broke 1500. Done right we could possibly get 40 levels completed. But that would require most of us to do everything we can.
To note, I work Friday and Saturday nights and can still score almost 6000 bps. Granted I fell asleep face planted firmly on the phone's screen mid battle, but it is possible to do.
