I thought that was just a thing in canada, I didn't know both canada and the US shared veterans day.

All the other human characters look just fine, which is why it's distracting for me.
Anyways besides that I like the poster, in general I'm happy to have some main Transformer character that seem to be decently original in addition to mainstays like Prime and Bee, a drone and what I recall being a motorcycle with a sidecar are pretty refreshing for alt modes.

It's just the autobot symbol imbedded within a larger symbol showing his alliance with humans. Megatron has the same symbol but with a deceoticon logo imbedded in it.

So, this means there will be or who would ally themselves with other things than humans? Like Aliens or Mole People perhaps? Then all those sub-factions may fight each others?

In this series the war is over and everyone seems to be working together hence the similar symbol motif. The main villain is Mandroid.
I'm really looking forward to this series since it seems to be doing a lot of things that haven't been done (in animation anyway) like the Terrans and non-aggressive Decepticons.

But they are agressive. If only Megatron is charitable:he will be a contrarian like Sentinel, different but nothing else.
The terrans from the spawning pool are miraculous pets of death, not a new information from me but a judgement:everything will be solved by the adults or by a miraculous mutation(this part can be fun if there's créativity...The MAX STEEL way,not DIGIMON),i hope they will explain the indestructible mommy truck but i doubt it.Miraculous resolve again and again plus some CODE LYOKO fights whatever it is the authentic inspiration or not,the humans are not allowed to be shoted directly and that's problematic.Sound original only if you lack some références, maybe satisfysing enough in spite of that.

You entirely misunderstood my point. I was talking about the concept of non-aggressive Decepticons, not that all of them are suddenly non-aggressive (though I have a feeling it wont just be Megatron, he has too many loyalists in any continuity). We got a hint of that in the Unicron Trilogy with Starscream, but then they kinda ruined it.
When I said "in animation" I was clearly talking about Transformers animation, not all animation ever made. I'm more than aware of the whole "pet" concept, I was a teen when Pokemon and Digimon came west. We got our own version with Minicons in the Unicron Trilogy, but this is different. They're supposedly being treated as family members to the humans and they're being promoted as actual Transformers, just born on Earth (rather than spawns of Unicron). It's an interesting take.

Megatron is a contrarian like Sentinel,IF he's the only one, rehash of ANIMATED,not a truly new story in animation and that's spéculatif anyway.
They are still overpowered pets even with some semblant of personnality, the concept is large,i'm not fooled:"Can we keep them? They may crush the living room when they play by fighting. But can we keep them?".Their birth is a total miracle while we are at it.The minicons are spawns of Satan?Ouh,that tell so much.
RID 2015 was a worse plagiat of the TV series for LILO AND STICH from TRIPLESIXNEY.It is noticeable and matters invariably. No excuses:"original for this licence".I don't discuss that,"maybe satisfysing enough in spite of that".

I was thinking more about the gimmicks. We hadn't seen that since the unicron trilogy and that was 3 separate shows. But with rid2015 we had powered up modes, weaponiser minicons, minicon partners, deployers, powerisers and combiners.
As for cons not making it to toys, yeah it's sad. So many good designs. I really liked Octopunch, Hammerstrike, Ped, Kickback and Vertebreak. All of them amazing designs.
I would love to do a list of top 5 great RID designs never made into toys.

Love the Soundwave and Arcee designs, especially with Arcee's car being an old-car style that's a treat to see!
Soundwave gives TFP vibes in his design.

And Megs harkening back to his Animated alt did my heart good.
Arcee's vehicle mode screams toy-design to me, with its solid blockiness. Her original alt was effectively a futuristic pink Cadillac convertible, so it's about time we had a toy of her that turned into a 20th century one, as close as Has/Tak can approximate legally.

Such is the life of some Arcees, huh? We'll probably get Cyberverse Arcee levels of shellforming, seeing that Elita's toy was quite kibbly.

If it gives us that alt mode, I am ok with that.
But just to temper expectations, Hasbro was quite clear when they said that as far as toys with traditional transformations (ie. what fans would expect in a generations TF line) only deluxes are planned. So, while that can make for some really nice deluxes, like what we saw with Twitch, it will also result in small faction leaders like the Megatron we also saw. And I gotta say, that deluxe does not do this Megs design justice. It needs a voyager class or even leader class to give us that wonderful presence he has, along with his giant cannon, his beefy alt mode which should move its rotors (they are static on the deluxe toy) and extra steps/complexity to further hide his arms and not rely on a fake chest.

You'll see above why I need more than the Megs we are getting from this line. As for Skullcruncher, while his design is cool, it is closer to his standard look than many of the other designs. We see that with Wheeljack too. So since I already have the TR deluxe and Cyberverse ultra, I don't feel that huge need for another similar skullcruncher. Don,t get me wrong, I will still 100% get a new Skullcruncher toy if it's good and looks good, it's just not as high on my list of demands when seeing these designs.

I still don't understand the fetish for giving them "faces" underneath face plates. It makes the existence of the faceplate itself redundant. Will Wheeljack and Soundwave have gross mouths too?

AllNewSuperRobot wrote:I still don't understand the fetish for giving them "faces" underneath face plates. It makes the existence of the faceplate itself redundant.
First off, it humanizes them for the kids. I know, I know...."we didn't need them back in the day". But you have to remember, the kids of today have not had the social interactions we did when G1 came out. Studies have proven that today younger generation does not have the capacity to read body language, voice inflection (thank you, inventor of the text message...), and expression at the level of Gen X and prior because they simply haven't had the exposures. This is worse for those who were essentially in their formative years during Covid and are now struggling to catch up with their learning. The younger generation's interactions have all been digital. Facebook, Instagram, etc. This is why Millenials and younger generations are having such an issue in the workplace relating to older people. They don't understand body language and associated nuances because they've spent the majority of their lives with their faces in their phones or so focused on themselves (thank you, inventor of the "selfie"...) that interaction has not been a priority.
Putting faces on bots allows the toons to subliminally teach expressions, interactions, and body language to the younger generation- something that Gen X and the previous generations learned by actually going outside and interacting face to face. That may not have been the intent, but it's logical based on the most recent psychological research.
It may not be that complicated, but that's my guess.
Posted by AllNewSuperRobot on September 18th, 2022 @ 11:31am CDT
Pretty grim reading for this generation of kids to be considered that deficit to their predecessors.

It's very interesting to see how psychology has been used in the past. Going back and looking at the credits of shows like Silverhawks, Thundercats, and TF among others, there are psychological consultants for all of them. This may be one of those hidden things that we don't know goes on in the background a lot.

To be fair, they were simply giving children of today toys with the same complexity that were given to kids on the 80s.
