Thanks to TWO submissions, we've been alerted to Combiner Wars Wave 1 Voyagers and Deluxes (!) being in stock and shipped from Amazon themselves. One slight wrinkle, one possibly big wrinkle: Slight is an extra 1-2 days to process on the limb bots themselves, while the big one is that they're now priced the highest on the market right now at $18.99 per limb!
If you want them, you better act fast before Amazon sells out, even at those prices.
Alpha Bravo
Dragstrip
Firefly
Optimus Prime
Silverbolt
Skydive
While these have not hit saturation, yet, they will if you're patient. If you want 'em now and you're willing to pay a premium to obtain them, Amazon will be your best bet right now. Not to mention, with distribution issues in certain parts of the country/world, gas spent, and time most likely wasted, this is actually more economical in the long run. All of the figures are Prime eligible and after $35.00 their shipping is free.

They've also hit the Amazon UK site with Deluxes and Voyagers going for £15.99 and £22.99 respectively.

If they had stuck with the current MSRP, which I believe is...$14.99? It would've been slightly more affordable.
Voyagers still show in most stores at around the $25.00 mark, which with tax brings it to about $26.50 or so, out the door, no shipping required.
If the limbs would stick to the $14.99 price point, (with tax, that's $15.88 or so where I live) that would bring the grand total to $90.06, which isn't much cheaper than what Amazon is asking, but it's enough to throw about 2-3 gallons of gas in your car and still come home with the full set of Aerialbots or the full set of Ultra Prime, etc.
Amazon's known for dropping prices when you least expect it, they might compete with Target which is currently selling these for $11.99 each until the 17th, I believe.

I like to work the 30 day free trial, but I'm considering taking the plunge as well.
SW's SH, do you know if their music library is downloadable, or only accessible?
Good job on the podcast BTW.

Amazon Prime gives you a 30 day free trial. You get access to a bunch of features, but most important, you get FREE 2 DAY SHIPPING on most purchases. Primarily on Amazon stock.
The trick is remembering to cancel it or you get charged $100.

It's both, but its optimized mostly for mobile, so if you have a smart phone or tablet, your going to have a good time. If you shop and order from amazon allot, the 100 dollars is worth it, seeing as it's the charge of once a year.

I can tell you from experience that Amazon Prime is so worth it. I have made 54 orders this year with them. If you average out $6-$7 shipping per order (I'm taking the high end)...that's $399.00 in shipping charges shaved. Plus if you live in a state that Amazon doesn't collect tax from it's a no brainer . I'll pay the $100 annual fee...I get more out of Amazon than I do my Costco card...how many people reading this have Costco or SAMs memberships? I've purchased a computer, a 30 gallon trashcan, several Transformers, Blu Rays, you name it...all arrived in a timely manner and I could track it all the way. I have saved so much in shipping and sales tax.

I'm now all for it. At $100 per year, it's cheaper than Netflix, and you get so much more.

whats a full CW set of 5 gonna cost us canadians? im guessing 16ish per deluxe, 29ish per voyager. so 90-100 bucks give or take? being one whos spent big bucks on 3P combiners and who likes hasbros offerings, $100 is an easy pill to swallow.william-james88 wrote:Would you rather pay 429$ instead?GuyIncognito wrote:That's like $100 for a full Combiner. I have Intimidator. I love it. It ain't no $429. TFSource out they damn minds.
Even at regular prices, Intimidator goes for $60.00 per limb, plus $150.00 for Diesel, bringing the grand total to $390.00
Free shipping or no, that price is highway robbery, especially when you can pay shipping and still be well under that and order the full set from BBTS. (I do recommend Intimidator. Wholeheartedly. I love it, did I mention that? DID I?!)

1) It's easier to push Superions head/chest out before folding Silverbolts in.
2) The instructions are vague to say the least on which way is front on the limbs. To have fully functional knees the plane/car parts need to face forward and for double elbows (utilizing the ratcheting knees) make sure the robot feet are facing forwards for the Aerialbots and backwards for Drag Strip.
3) Moving the arms out of a neutral pose on Superion will cause it to lean forward slightly in between two detentes on the ratchet joints. It would've been nice if the hips had a few more clicks but such is life, Superion hasn't fallen over and I doubt it will anytime soon.
4) Properly transformed Ultra Prime's hips are a bit bowed but the weight of the limbs pull them down so the legs appear straight and flush. I'm not sure if that will be a problem down the line.
Now for the good stuff. I heard some rumors that come from a trusted source about the remainder of the year, confirming some speculation we've had and unfortunately causing me at least a bit of disappointment.
1) Devastator will be a 6 Voyager gift set sold at TRU as a Titan class figure. It is all the original Constructicons and looks more like Giant than Hercules. Expect pics and official confirmation either January or February.
2) After Superion, Menasor, and Devastator, the fourth combiner will be... Ultra Prime! Let me explain, those deluxe Autobot cars we heard about? Those are meant to be the true limbs of Ultra Prime and complete that combiner.
3) The last Gestalt will be Defensor. Alpha Bravo will be repainted into Blades while Hot Spot will be a repaint/remold of the Optimus Prime voyager. As we've already heard Groove will not be a limb.
4) Sadly that means we will not get a proper Bruticus. I also don't know about store exclusives or anything like that.

That's what worries me too. It's good to remember that all the joints that matter are ratchet joints so they should hold through 3 uses.
One thing I forgot to mention and this might be the most important, Drag Strip has two pegs on the gun sword; one is round to hold like a sword while the one to hold like a blaster is almost T-Shaped, that one LOVES to stress ports, it almost broke the port on Optimus Prime's smaller pistol. I highly recommend never using that peg outside of Drag Strip's hands.

We knew about those Ultra Prime limbs, that isn't really new. What we dont know is if those said limbs will all be repaints . Also, I find it odd how this means that in scale, we would have 3 autobot combiners and only one decepticon. I see Devastator as more of a figure on it's own since it's a different scale and sold exclusively.

There are always more Autobots than Cons, when it comes to the toys. It's always been that way. I've always figured it's just because Hero's sell better than villains.

It feels like looking at each Batman toyline and seeing Batman in 6 different outfits and one Joker figure. If what Chuck herd is true, then that's even closer to the truth with 3 torsos being simple repaints of one another

My point is Superion's rival is Menasor.
Defensor's rival is Bruticus.
Why 3 autobot Combiners once you add in Ultra Prime and only 1 decepticon? Decepticons always had the cooler combiners.

I can only assume it's because we've recently had a Bruticus. I'm cool with my Bruticus (with 3P upgrades however), but I'd still rather another gestalt than Ultra Prime.
Anyway, posted this on the UK Sightings page but I'll post it here too. Just noticed on the Smyths UK site that they're now listing a few of the CW figures (albeit not able to purchase yet). Powerglide, Drag Strip, Firefly, Skydive and a "Slpha Bravo", whoever that is.
Here's the pic for Drag Strip. Menasor still looks a little underwhelming to me.

Wasn't paying enough attention to notice that. To be honest, it wasn't really that. Menasor's head sculpt is still odd, I just don't like the bull horns. Also, I find that chest to be so damn wide compared to the hips. Not keen on Blackjack sitting in the middle, but you can close it up so I may opt for that.

This is inevitable, yeah? I'd like to see it continue with new releases.Store exclusive repaints perhaps?
Or, what ever the next Generations line is, it would be great to see 1 or 2 combiner teams per year. Hasbro now has the tech. 2016 we get classic style Dinobots pitted againt some monstrous combiner like Predaking, Monstructor, or Abominus.

Well, the SDCC version of Bruticus did come out before the retail version, so that could be seen as five exclusive molds that later got redecoed (and later remolded) for retail.Cobotron wrote:Have all the Gen. exclusives been re-purposed molds? And, IIRC, the SDCC version of Metroplex came out before the retail version, so that might also sorta count.

Yeah, I'm in Schenectady NY area.
So I missed out on a set the other day, and a buddy just texted me that he found another set today at the same store. Sadly before he could grab me a set someone else took it, so as of now I'm still without Combiner parts.
