Update: Apparently Transformers Generations Deluxe Wave 5 has suffered the same fate. This wave features the highly anticipated, though yet to be revealed Arcee and Chromia figures. Again, Hasbro states the figures will be released, just in future waves.
Hello,
Hasbro has just informed us that the Deluxe Wave 03 Case assortment has been cancelled. This case contained Rattrap, Tankor and Crosscut. They have confirmed that all three figures will be released, but they will be spread over various future assortments. Hasbro has solicited a Wave 03 Revision assortment that contains Rattrap and Tankor and some Wave 02 figures. Crosscut has been pushed to a future and currently unknown assortment. We unfortunately will need to cancel your preorder for this case due to the changes. We truly apologize for this inconvenience. If you wish to order the Revision case, please see the link below.

I'm more annoyed by Arcee and Chromia than this wave. We haven't even seen what they look like, and they've been delayed. What gives?

Oh well, this is less a test of my patience than wondering if Waspy and Skids' original case and the Ruination wave will ever show up in the bargain basement stores.

So... are future case assortments also going to contain a tube of lube or a coupon for a free drink at the local bar? Because, lets face it, this IS going to happen again before the year is out.

Hmm, I believe I third this sentiment? Because I echo it. Hell, now I've got doubts of these ever hitting shelves. Nice job, Hasbro. [sarcasm_on_full]

A cancellation of her wave is something that people don't pay attention to. You can say that I'm weird, but I feel sorry for Arcee and all of the damages she's been through.
You haven't read the IDW comics, have you...?

I have read a few with Arcee, but the comic store 5 miles away from me has very little of Transformers comics. Plus, comics are hard to find. Arcee's activity outside the comics is looking bad though.

Yay! I'm nobody! (Hmm... Not sure how I feel about that, actually...)
I've been looking forward to some news on this figure, and "her wave is canceled" is not what I was hoping for. Ah, well, at least the figure itself is (supposedly) still to be released eventually...
Man, I just hope that the figure is a decent Classics style update of G1 Arcee, and that she isn't impossible to get. Animated Arcee with a new head is an okay placeholder, but I'd love a true Classics Arcee someday.
(Please?)

Oh well, saves me money for several months at least. I can put all that savings into an MP Ultra Magnus fund.
I echo your comments, in the meantime it will just make it that much easier to afford Masterpiece Prowl, and maybe try to catch up on a few other items I missed. I have decided to skip on most of the movie stuff as well.

Sure, because of what Hasbro owes you. It couldn't have been necessary for business, logistical, production or other reasons, it's because they're out to get you. It couldn't be disappointing to the designers who pored over the design of the toys, looking at probably every fictional rendition of each character trying to create the right look, or to Hasbro itself for having invested the money, time and resources and not being able to realise that investment yet, or indeed for Hasbro to have an opportunity to take your money right now. No, it's just about you and what you want, nay, expect, and that Hasbro did this deliberately, to you, by not releasing a set of toys just yet.
Yes, it's disappointing, but the level of entitlement - and maturity - here in this thread is at Kardashian level.
Hasbro isn't going anywhere. So if you really mean it, and you aren't just posing, posturing, and puffing out your chest, give up Transformers and get rid of your figures. That'll learn them. You're all upset and angry and everything, but you won't actually do anything about it. So, how about you skip right to the end part where your minor little tantrum has blown over and turned into acceptance?

To all ye of little faith, I'd like to remind you that we are not the primary buying audience of Transformers, and we should yield to the child audience during peak periods like this. Hasbro will try to put the figures out once the movie line calms down. Until then, if you are not a fan of movie toys, explore other options. Enjoy some of the figures you already own. See if you can find an older figure you missed out on somewhere. Buy some third party stuff, or some Masterpiece stuff. Try a different toyline. Buy some Kreons. There's a wealth of things you can do while you wait six months or so for Hasbro to be able to sell retailers on the next Generations figures, so just be patient.

It's not (all) Hasbro's call though. They make and sell this stuff, but if Walmart ain't buying, and Target ain't buying, then they can't really do anything about it, and they can't undersell their suppliers online, nor are they equipped to do so

yeah dude.. cause none of us have invested a TON of money into this franchise.. ARE YOU SERIOUS?.. of course we should feel like we have some entitlement.. we're the reason they're able to make money in the first place.. hell.. some of us on here have stuck with this brand for 30 years.. you don't think that that is going to make us feel a bit entitled?.. maybe it's time to look in the mirror before you start spouting about maturity.
also.. this isn't the first time something like this has happened.. look at ALL of the figures that they've made, that people want, but can't get because hasbro has failed.
animated thundercracker, blackout, hydro bumblebee, wingblade prime..
dotm human alliance soundwave, deluxe soundwave, deluxe wheeljack.. and their repaints..
tf prime voyager breakdown, deluxe jet vehicon, deluxe jet vehicon general.. the fiasco with the first edition figures which wound up being widely released WELL after they were supposed to.
and now.. these generations figures.
this is a TERRIBLE trend.. and it's unacceptable. us fans have had to put up with figures getting smaller, simpler, less paint applications, flat out wrong colors, terrible exclusives, horrible distribution, etc.. the least they could do is get these things on the shelves.
i mean.. how long ahead of time is this crap planned out?.. something like this should NEVER happen, yet it seems to happen OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. i mean, seriously, they can't look at trends?.. voyager rhinox was supposed to be out much earlier this year, yet rather than doing that, they decided to throw a voyager revision wave in and ruin everything.
stores in my area can't keep generations deluxe figures on the pegs for very long.. i've only seen three mini con teams sitting on the pegs for more than a week. it's ridiculous.
so, since you don't think it's a big deal.. and feel the need to belittle other people because they do, maybe you should get out of this fan base rather than the people who are upset about this.
this is an awful trend hasbro has gotten into.. and there are easy solutions.. which is probably why people are angry.
anyways.. this totally sucks, and i can see this happening with the movie figures.. but hopefully it doesn't since the first wave of deluxes seems to be broken up pretty good.. so hopefully it'll end and they'll figure their shit out.

Earlier date? Not sure about the Voyagers, but the Cosmos and Swerve figures were supposed to be release in OCT13, then APR14. We assume this will stick at this point, but what is this based on? BBTS preorders? They are fickle. They still have the Tankor and Rattrap release scheduled in June, which is a lie, because there is no way the AOE line will be close to being over by then. The AOE stuff will still be selling by Christmas for the DVD release. Maybe in 2015 we will see these, but who knows. For a set of figures that is suppoed to be released "late April" I don't see any evidence of this anywhere. You would think HTS would have listings up at this point with "coming soon "designations like they usually do.
These would have been possibly my last TF purchases ever as even my children have lost interest in this toyline in favor of the TMNT line. And now, I am not sure if I want to hold out for them.

These newer waves were cancelled, but the figures were not. They'll be released eventually. Retailers are making room for the movie toys. Guess what line makes the most money, and gives Hasbro the funds to give collectors Generations figures? You guessed it. The movie line.

Yes, and that is the problem. Why should a consumer reward a business with bad customer relations with more business? That is what I asked myself when reading this. Hasbro has become insanely flaky when it comes to promising product in the last few years. And recently it has gotten way out of hand. That is not the way to treat consumers and expect repeat business. But that is not the only problem.
Their product quality and prices points are totally unreasonable. Again, even my children have lost interest simply because these figures that target their age group are very dark and evil looking. And they have a very strange recent fascination with dragons, which is mind boggling. The only line they care about at this point are the Rescue Bots, and after the recent releases that has faded. I can't even get my children to play with them anymore, simply because there are other lines out there with much better product. A fine example is Playmates TMNT line. They have excellent figures with great quality and their price points are awesome for the parents who pay for them. Even the cartoon is much better than the Prime series ever was.
Bottom line is this, you cannot screw over your customers if you want repeat business. It seems Hasbro is putting all their eggs in one basket with this AOE line. I am the ONLY one left in my household that cares about this line. And now, I don't care any more. I really don't care if they ever release any of the "delayed" figures. Because by the time they do I will have moved on. And I am sure I am not the only one who thinks this way. As a matter of fact, some of you seem downright pissed off. I am not, because I can take it or leave it. And at this point I do not see any purpose in following the brand until next year, if I care by then. The only things I see myself buying going forward are the Kreon blind packs, and that is if I do not grow weary of trying to get them at TRU. And they are flaky anyhow when it comes to stocking them now, let alone when they are the only retailer carrying them.

My wife tells me I'm very good at poking the bear.

DELAYED, not cancelled.
Speaking of (infinitely more civilly) poking the bear...
I am in the Jelze & Sabrblade camp here. I honestly think it's a bit much to take the news personally. The movie lines make money, or at least retailers believe that product supported by a movie is more likely to make more money, and that's the way the business turns. Patience will pay dividends.
The changing interests of you and your kids is a more subjective thing, but I'm sorry to learn of your disillusionment.

I do not have a changing interest in TF's. I still like some of the previous lines. I am actually collecting some of the older legends and robot heroes stuff right now. My OP is based on current and future TF purchases.
I cannot fathom paying 14.99 for less product than we got five years ago. My first TF purchase from childhood was Universe Ratchet back in 2009 and i remember paying 8.99 for it. Comparing that to current figures is a joke. Not to mention the $6 markup and for what? They are not paying any more for raw materials now then they did back then. I know. I work as an accountant for a plastics injection molder here in the US and have worked for the same industry for 7 years now. I won't get into the details as I have done so in previous posts in the past, but it is insane who much profit they are raking in at this point.
I obviously understand a business is in business to make money, but there is a fine line between having a livelihood and greed. And once Hasbro got a taste of that "movie money" they cannot go back. The shareholders and upper management expect a larger profit margin every year and this is the result. I just cannot contribute to something I think is wrong any longer. Over the holidays it wasn't so bad because we got discounts and deals. Hell, I paid 3.50 on amazon for a GEN Hoist just for the heck of it when i already owned it.
I just can't justify a 14.99 price point for something lacking in quality. The only positive thing I can actually say is that the chinese molders are creating some cool molds these days with all the intricate laser cutting. But that is all. The raw mater ial they are using is junk and will start to dissolve literally in a decade or two. Because they are blending it with something called densified material, which is basically all the garage and dirty diapers that some of you recycle in your bins. I am not kidding you. Educate yourself on densified plastic pellets if you think I am exaggerating.
Maybe my "disillusion" is from doing the job I do and knowing what I know? Who knows. I just know I don't care much for the current product they are teasing us with, and when they "delay" things it just makes me that much more ask myself "why do I bother"? As far as my children go I actually try to get them to play with TF's and they just won't half the time. My youngest son still likes his "Smash Bots" (Bot Shots), but that is about it. I have two toes full of Prime and Universe legends stuff and they barely touch it.
I was silent during the BW and Cybertron stuff, so maybe I will look into that as far as collecting goes. But going forward, it is highly doubtful I will pay for these figures IF they are released, and by then I'm sure Hasbro will have jacked the price point up to $16 or $17 by then.
