Thanks to a heads up from Jtprime17, we have word that the recently leaked Transformers Generations Selects Hot Shot figure might be available at New York Comic Con!

Hot Shot, who is a head retool of the Transformers War for Cybertron Siege Hound, has long been rumored to be coming at some point in time, and now that we know he exists, it seems as though he will be at New York Comic Con. This information originates from Entertainment Earth, who will be the ones potentially selling Hot Shot at New York Comic Con. The reason this is not confirmed yet is because the article where Entertainment Earth talks about the NYCC exclusives doesn't name Hot Shot specifically, but he does show up in a small banner on the page. It is very likely he will be available, but we are not quite confirming it yet.

Check out the banner below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Nightbird: she's... eh? The paint work is stunning, but the mold is boring. This is my first go at this mold and I'm glad it's the only. It's not really good.

It's a worthy pick up, but she's definitely one of the weaker figures of the year.

Thoughts: Zetar is wonderful. His colors are really cool and I love his doofy drill head. He's so cute! His alt mode is good, the Brunt mold is the best of the Weaponizers. This is a great retool. I can't wait to get the other 2 Powerdashers.

Also his name is great. They all are

Yeah, I really don't like the Chromia mold (I do like the Moonracer mold, though). Its use for this new Nightbird is why I recently opted to go to eBay and get the Legends Nightbird that Takara made from the Generations Arcee mold.

That one not only has more weapons but a greater resemblance to Nightbird's actual look

I definitely agree with that. I'm satisfied with my choice though since I have the Arcee mold as Arcee but not the Chromia mold, so it's nice to get that mold diversity, even if one is a better mold than the other

Part of me wishes that Zetar's drill piece had a peg, not a port. But that's an incredibly minor nitpick. I may end up picking him up

I'm right there with both of you on the Siege Chromia mold. I was happy with T30 Chormia and was going to pass on the Siege version, but only got her when Hasbro Pulse had wave 2 deluxes up for $9.99. And I still feel like I overpaid. I was lucky enough got score a Takara Nightbird back when they were new, so Nightbird was an easy pass. Oddly enough, I would probably buy Selects Nightbird if she was on sale for $10. The paintjob alone makes were much better than Chromia's version of the mold.

Look behind you, I'm in the same boat. Didn't have the character, didn't have the mold and at regular deluxe price, why not. My expectations are pretty low and I know what I'm getting into. From what I've seen/read/heard there are a few improvements over the Moonracer mold and I tend to agree. Let's see how I feel when I get her in hand.

I will say it is an improvement over Moonracer, but that's not saying much.

That said, how does the Nightbird version feel in hand? Like, is it floppy or feel loose in anyway? When I picked up Chromia, everything felt like it was on the verge of not being able to hold a pose rightout of the box

My Zetar and Nightbird should arrive tomorrow from Hasbro Pulse via FedEx. :)

I'm excited for Zetar, but feeling a little buyer's remorse already from Nightbird, and I don't even have her in hand! I was on the fence on cancelling the preorder, but before I acted on that, Hasbro Pulse charged my card and shipped the order. I might as well accept it at this point. Maybe it will really wow me in hand, but the Transformers Legends retool/repaint of Arcee that Takara Tomy put out a few years back really does seem to be superior in almost every way, and I already have that figure of Nightbird.

Yeah, a part of me agrees it looks good (same with Chromia)... but a part of me really, really wishes the two of them combined as gestalt limbs.

I would actually call it a push when comparing the 2 versions. The improvements Hasbro made to the feet are solid, but they are offset by them removing the best part of the Moonracer mold, which was its ability to combine. The backpack is a bit more fun to transform, but is still huge and ugly in bot mode. And on top of removing the combiner peg, they really didn't do a thing with the extra real estate that the lack of a peg gives them. The back end of the car mode is still ugly as well, and now you don't have a PotP hand/armor to cover it up.

Well unfortunately I live about as far as you can be in the continental US from HP warehouse. They just now charged my account for Zetar, but still no shipping notice yet. Even when I do get it, it takes about a week to get out to me. So I'll have it when it's old news  .

Still I just realized, its kind of unfortunate the Autobot Weaponizers will outnumber the cons 5 to 1. But given the nature of the *Powerdashers* I guess it was unavoidable, and an admirable reuse of each mold. Also with 5 Autobot Weaponizers, not only can Aragon stand in as Grand Max's *Cog* I'll definitely be working on a way to make a Weaponizer Combiner from the 5 Autobots.... :-D

A 3rd use of Six Gun (as Metroshot), and perhaps next year getting a Fasttrack and Black Roritchi weaponizer would definitely get things closer to even, though having things be even has never been a concern for Hasbro unfortunately.

I'm curious to see what you can come up with. Cromar and Sixgun make sense for the arms since they each have a "hulk hand", but I figure making some kind of head is going to be the real challenge.

Zetar could be the central unit because he's the only unique mold of the 5 Autobot weaponizers? Though, Brunt's mold might not be that easy to work as the central unit due to limited connection points...

This just in from Ozformers on Facebook: Kraken aka Seawing and Lobclaw aka Nautilator the second set of combiner components for the new Transformers Selects Seacon Piranhacon set are now up for pre-order for our Australian collectors at EB Games and Zing!

Also, one of the biggest of all Convoys, Big Convoy with new Matrix canon and drone accessory is also up for pre-order from both EB Games and Zing!

Now it's important to note these items need to be pre-ordered BEFORE FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 27th! They are expected to ship towards the end of February next year 2020.

From the Ozformers post:
"Unfortunately they are both a little more expensive than the same sized Gulf/Skalor toy from the first wave, now priced at $68 each ($10 deposit when pre-ordering)
Big Convoy is $148, with a $30 deposit when pre-ordering."

For our Australian fans we've broken down the links below, just click away and head to EB Games or Zing to put in your pre order. Share your thoughts in the forum and as always stay tuned to Seibertron for the ultimate in Transformers news!

That would be my guess, and likely starting during NYCC in a few weeks. My other guess is that since we sort of knew about Hot Shot since Hound packaging, that he will end up being WFC-GS04 with Cromar as WFC-GS09.

OK, at this point I honestly feel like I'm being trolled by HasbroPulse. It took them a week for their customer service to respond to a single e-mail inquiry of mine. Fortunately i took the plunge and ordered Zetar and the second wave of Seacons prior to Zetar's cut-off or else I would have been SOL again.

Next, I get a notice of a shipping delay until next Monday for Zetar (I figure OK, I was late but at least I'm getting it), then I get an e-mail in the middle of the night saying it actually shipped, so ok I guess...

I made my pre-order as a guest, but wanted to actually sign up so I can track the status of my order. It took a full 24 hours to get a sign-up confirmation e-mail.

Lastly, I look at my order confirmation and it says: Payment method : Submarine ??? :HEADHURTS:

Whew, man you got hosed, it only cost me $20, but they are gouging you for a whole sub? Wait, maybe they meant a sub sammich, but didn't have enough room for the sammich part? That would make more sense, but for $20 value it had better be one damn good sammich.

Damnit, now I want a sammich. What were we talking about again?

^ I mean I tried to look online to see if it was *code* for something else. I found nothing, unless its an internal term Hasbro Pulse uses exclusively.

*edit* OK, so I called Pulse, just for my own edification.

Apparently *Submarine* payment is what happens when you pre-order multiple items that have different shipping/release dates (exactly what I did). The original order has to be *cancelled* and then *Submarined* (I would think parceled would have been a simpler term but whatever).... so you are not charged the whole amount, and you get the items as they are released.

I'm glad for this system, its just an odd little thing. Oh well.

Nightbird and Zetar got delivered a little while ago. I have to say, I'm impressed with Nightbird. The paint job/deco is amazing and looks great.

Image

Definitely an improvement over Moonracer and especially the slightly simplified Greenlight/Lancer. The backpack is much better and I don't see any negatives form lacking a combiner peg. Even though there is still some big chunks on the legs, it's still an improvement to move them higher up and to the back. They come off as some type of turbo boosters for quick dashes.

The car mode is all kinds of sexy Vehicon Batmobile. Again, an improvement over the Moonracer mold.

Image

She does have a few negatives. The hips and thigh swivels are a little loose, but not to the point where she can't hold a pose. She also shares the same issue Chromia has with her panty drawers falling off. I may have to permanently glue those on. Having the vestigial second waist/crotch swivel isn't helping matters.

Overall quite pleased and happy with Nightbird ;)^

That's the one, seems like several are broken. Guess it's right click, copy image address, click 'img' button, ctrl-V ... oof so much work :BOOM:

How 'bout dat Nightbird eh?

Image

Man I'm loving this figure, so much paint. Almost all black surfaces are painted, silver on the shins, chest and shoulders, purple torso with yellow accents and the weapons have a splash of color.

Articulation is a little limited in the legs, but the fenders can be moved around a bit. As pictured, I only do stoic A poses anyway 8-} The collar does hard limit the crazy amount of available neck movement as well.

Has anyone ever noticed the rear wheels seem like they are on backwards? Even though the wheels are mostly obscured in alt-mode the hollow inside just peeks out a bit.

Image

They look good in bot mode, so I'm considering trying to flip them around. Also afraid of breaking my new play pretty Image

If you've got Jetfire (and if you don't, you're dead to me) use his blast effects on him. They work great on Brunt as a Super Saiyan power up, they'd look just as good on this guy.

The Gobot face is what sold me. They were great even if they were a little doofy, adorably doofy. Because of the price, I had way more Gobots than Transformers.

What if I have him, but I left all that extra junk in the box?

HA! I did the same.

Anyone else have a super loose right wrist for Jetfire?

Yes, and its quite annoying.

Super annoying and it really pisses me the F off on a toy that sure as hell wasn't cheap. I like the transformation and bot mode look but I am not impressed by the overall toy.

I'm confused, why would I be dead to you if I don't have Jetfire?

I'm not sure exacly how Super Saiyans look all powered up, but hows this float your dingy?

or this?

I don't have a dingy, we checked and made sure we were above flood level before we bought the house. We just have a lot of hills to get over to get to the stores. Image

Just got my Nightbird figure.

Her robot mode is actually quite nice, and her alt-mode looks very slick, thanks to all that glossy black paint.

Mine did come with a couple of issues. Her bicep swivels were both rather loose and wanting to pop off. It looked like the rod coming from the shoulder was just a hair too wide for the socket on the upper arm (maybe from the added layer of paint?), and her right shoulder rod had a quarter-millimeter of sprue flashing sticking out. After lightly sanding down the whole thing and adding just a drop of Krazy glue for friction, the problem seems to be solved.

Second issue, and the one I can't fix, is that her "grenades" don't want to attach to the posts on her neck rig where they're supposed to go in vehicle mode. They just won't stick on, no matter how much I fiddle with them. They look good popped into the 5mm ports near her front wheels, but it leaves the rear section looking even less complete than it already did. I'm not too fussed about it since she'll be displayed in 'bot-mode, but it is frustrating.

She isn't perfect, but I think I got my money's worth.

I'm now officially fully on board the Seacon hype, what with all the revealed Seacons on pre-order. It will cost an arm and a leg but I'm a sucker for beast modes and combiners.

My attempts at a less Brunty more G1-y drill tank mode for Zetar.

This feels a little better.

Unfortunately some of the asymmetrical aspects of the mold are really limiting.

Question, would Zetar be in a top 5 drill vehicles list? Would he be on top or is that still reserved to Unite Warriors Nosecone?

Until I read Nosecone I couldn't even think of any other drillformers. Even though I've never handled UW NC, I'm going to give it to him because of his big honking ass drill. Zetar is kind of a half-assed goofbot at best. Still love the partsforming dunce cap wearing doofus though :x

I'm sure WJ88 has a list cookin' ;) . Other than Original Nosecone, CW & UW, I don't know why but Cybertron Menasor comes to mind, I'm sure there's a slough of others, it's just drill bots aren't a high priority search in my brain

I smell what the WillyJ is cooking. I poked around the wiki a bit and found Drillhorn.

Yup, there's Drillhorn who has 2 toys out there, Nosecone has 3, and there's indeed Menasor. Plus more, but I wont give away too much.
