I understand that the folks at METAsubs have been having some difficulties they've had to sort out before they can get back to subbing this show and so I can be patient for their aubbed release, but TV-Nihon has given no such explanation and so are making me impatient with their subbed release.
Also, for what it's worth, guys, this is episode 2 of the Shinobi Volume.
That's the idea. It's a children's anime. And running at only ~10 minutes in length, not much more they can do for these early series episodes. This is not a full blown, high-budget, Television quality cartoon series. It's just a series of DVD shorts not meant to be taken as seriously as something like TF: Prime (which many folks seem to have been spoiled by).bluecatcinema wrote:Ugh, the battles in this series are so formulaic. Predacons attack, Autobots arrive. Preds send out the combiner team, they get their asses whooped. Then they combine, and the human invokes the power of the Legend Disc, allowing the 'Bots to combine. The bots take down the Pred combiner, Predacons retreat. Ho-hum,
Yup. Doesn't bother me. It's like a Tokusatsu in anime form.Ultra Markus wrote:the mouths of the robots don't move when they talk
Not of this episode, though.dedcat wrote:For what its worth, TV-Nihon (free fan sub group) has english subtitled episodes of this series on their website.
1. You misspelled "Abominus".jgilkinson wrote:wow... I would rather watch RiD than this... why is abomination black/grey but his individual parts all have color?
2. That's not Abominus, that's Goradora.
3. The reason he's black is because that's his upgraded form, with his components having merged in a "Black Jaki Gattai" instead of a regular "Jaki Gattai" (even though I haven't watched this episode yet, I know this from it happening in another episode that I have seen).
4. RiD is wonderful.

FWIW, this show is doing well in Japan, while TF: Prime FLOPPED HARD!Meantoy wrote:This is supposed to be the followup to the Prime series? Really? Nowonder Prime looked mortified when they was talking to him, even he cant believe it. And that kid.... hes more annoying that all 3 of the kids on prime combined on there most annoying day. And the animation/cgi its almost like this series and Bay are in a contest to see who can put out the worst possible crap, the winner gets all the braindead zombies that cant wait to throw money at hasblow/takara/bay who will continue to see and prove that there indeed are suckers born every minute. But, thats just my opinion.

Whoa, whoa, this is supposed to be the sequel to Prime? Oh hell no.

No no no no no! This is NOT a sequel to Prime a you know it. This a sequel to the Japanese version of Prime, which was dubbed in a comedic manner with a lot of jokes and gags thrown in, and which ended on the season 2 finale. As such, the events of season 3, Beast Hunters, DO NOT EXIST in this continuity.SlyTF1 wrote:Meantoy wrote:This is supposed to be the followup to the Prime series? Really? Honestly, just read this topic - http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/the-official-sanjou-gattai-transformers-go-discussion-thread-t96203.php
What Decepticons? This show has no Decepticons.MagnetarPrime wrote:Too predictable, every episode has the same format, every battle is pretty much the same. They are making look the decepticons weaker than ever.

Not hard to imagine, that. Maybe it's because, well, it's US animation adapted which goes against the grain there?

Yet, Animated was a smash hit in Japan.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:FWIW, this show is doing well in Japan, while TF: Prime FLOPPED HARD!

What are the odds... But Animated already had some anime influences present, right?

True, but Prime was also animated in Japan by Polygon Pictures.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Yet, Animated was a smash hit in Japan.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:FWIW, this show is doing well in Japan, while TF: Prime FLOPPED HARD!

Doesn't matter, it was still too Western and not silly enough for Japan's taste, the place it was animated in wouldn't have any impact.
Then again, it might have had to do with the terrible, terrible intro music they chose for the Japanese release.
Or maybe it's how they chose to butcher the show which likely doesn't really mesh well.

Surprised Takara hasn't brought over the Rescue Bots cartoon yet (but I feel that might be due to a lack of collector-marketable toys for that show, unless they'd be willing to create all new ones on their own).

Sabrblade wrote:I just figure Animated did well while Prime did not was due to Animated already being so darn fun and hilarious while Prime was more of a stick-in-the-mud by comparison.
