First thing you'll notice is how damn expensive it is. 68$CAN (50$US) for non-Edge members plus taxes is a lot of money. Way, way more than Red Cog.
WHY?
This is why:
There is lots of stuff. The minicon Jolt is basically a CORE CLASS Transformers. Plus, there's two extra guns, plus two sets of 3 blast effects for 6 total.
The little Jolt is fantastic, despite his lack of paint.
He's complex enough and he's fairly articulated.
Hot Shot himself is not bad, but he's not great. Especially on th backpack that come undone too easily, as well has his knees. But otherwise, he's fine enough.
He really shine with his extra guns and theBLOOOOOOOOOOSH
effects.
Oh, and Jolt can do the hover mode.
The transformation is interesting enough. Plus the vehicle looks great. Except on my copy, the coloring on the roof panels are different and doesn't match with each others for reasons.
Fully equipped, the car is awesome.
My Armada crew is looking good! Now only Armada Wheeljack is needed. Plus if they can make the other minicons as core class figures. Maybe as a 3 pack?
Was is worth that much money? Ultimately, not really. I say the set may be 10$CAN too expensive. Regardless, I don't regret my purchase. I FOMO'd hard on this one and there's no way that I would gamble finding it on sale.

I knew having a thing before it's even officially announced was newsworthy.

I also got Nova Prime and Shadowstriker. Nova Prime is very cool, I love it. Shadowstriker looks good, but still annoys me as she looks almost nothing like her Cyberverse self, and her transformation is a pain.

Bludgeon still rules. He is better than Tarn.

I also got Strongarm and Detritus in. Both are pretty neat, I will discuss them later.

It was announced at SDCC. We have known and had official images for it since July.

I meant, FULLY announced. With the price and all.
Because so far, no one know for how much the damn thing will cost in the USA.
I just want to know by how much I overpaid (given the Canadian trend for so many exclusives), or if the prices are relatively balanced between both countries.

I believe it was either $39.99 or $41.99.

So that mean with the EDGE Platinum membership, I end up paying 5 to 8$CAN extra compared to the American price.
Not too shabby considering that if I was stuck ordering from Pulse, they would have charged my the whopping 25$US in shipping fee at the bare minimum.

It's been available at retail in both Southeast Asia and Australia for quite a while now:-Kanrabat- wrote:Thanks for the feature!

Note: Not my pic.

I wonder for how much they retail for over there?

The big boots were a key feature of Animated Bumblebee's silhouette. They were even based on the feet of G1 Bumblebee, which were made from the front bumper area of his own original toy, a toy that also had big boots. So the original feet were already a G1 homage. Hasbro's attempt to G1-ify the feet here results in eliminating something that was already G1-based.-Kanrabat- wrote:Sabrblade wrote:And what were once the front feet on the original design are now the heels of this design, with new tinier feet replacing them.
That's just a small detail.

Yeah, they still refuse to let Animated be Animated. I don't really see any improvement here, it's just as heavily G1fied as Prowl and Bulkhead.

Thinking about it, that's an odd choice.
Also, the way the thing are built, I don't think the feet can rotate. That's unfortunate.

I guess it's a good catch on the feet. It's been so long that I forgot about that. In the end it's still an ascetic conversion and an entirely new toy. For me it hits the mark. I guess I don't need it to be 100% accurate. 80-90 is fine.
If I were interested in Animated BB. Which, sadly, I am not.

In fact, checking the wiki real quick, a vast majority of new-mold G1 Bumblebee toys ( and all of their redecos/retools) made since the original Classics mold in 2006 have all had big boots:-Kanrabat- wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The big boots were a key feature of Animated Bumblebee's silhouette. Having big boots is simply G1 Bumblebee's thing (among other things), and the original Animated Bumblebee toys replicated that faithfully.

First, that's big, sturdy box! The insides of the packaging must be quite premium.

...Or not.

I noticed that the whole thing was put face-down. Not a biggie, but what the F with those paper bundles? Sure, it's way more environmental friendly than plastics clamshells, but still. Am I moving some dishes to a new apartment or what?

Looks like Nova Prime have a bondage fetish. Kinky! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The super bot looks awesome, except for the hollow firetruck things. I'll be looking forward an upgrade kit.

The mini Prime is nice. Like a clone of Magnus.

The transformation was full of TRAPS. The worst one being the legs-armor's "panels". Those are screwed in place and are not meant to be moved. As for the rest, it's so different than Siege/Kingdom Magnus that I had to look up the instructions to know what to do. That's rare.
The final truck is pretty damn nice.

I'll be looking forward some upgrade kit and the Reprolabels.

This apply to Armada Starscream, Megs, and Optimus.
They could make a 3 pack of these CORE CLASS figures.
