First thing you'll notice is how damn expensive it is. 68$CAN (50$US) for non-Edge members plus taxes is a lot of money. Way, way more than Red Cog.
WHY?
This is why:
There is lots of stuff. The minicon Jolt is basically a CORE CLASS Transformers. Plus, there's two extra guns, plus two sets of 3 blast effects for 6 total.
The little Jolt is fantastic, despite his lack of paint.
He's complex enough and he's fairly articulated.
Hot Shot himself is not bad, but he's not great. Especially on th backpack that come undone too easily, as well has his knees. But otherwise, he's fine enough.
He really shine with his extra guns and the BLOOOOOOOOOOSH effects.
Oh, and Jolt can do the hover mode.
The transformation is interesting enough. Plus the vehicle looks great. Except on my copy, the coloring on the roof panels are different and doesn't match with each others for reasons.
Fully equipped, the car is awesome.
My Armada crew is looking good! Now only Armada Wheeljack is needed. Plus if they can make the other minicons as core class figures. Maybe as a 3 pack?
Was is worth that much money? Ultimately, not really. I say the set may be 10$CAN too expensive. Regardless, I don't regret my purchase. I FOMO'd hard on this one and there's no way that I would gamble finding it on sale.

I knew having a thing before it's even officially announced was newsworthy.

I also got Nova Prime and Shadowstriker. Nova Prime is very cool, I love it. Shadowstriker looks good, but still annoys me as she looks almost nothing like her Cyberverse self, and her transformation is a pain.
Bludgeon still rules. He is better than Tarn.
I also got Strongarm and Detritus in. Both are pretty neat, I will discuss them later.

I meant, FULLY announced. With the price and all.
Because so far, no one know for how much the damn thing will cost in the USA.
I just want to know by how much I overpaid (given the Canadian trend for so many exclusives), or if the prices are relatively balanced between both countries.

So that mean with the EDGE Platinum membership, I end up paying 5 to 8$CAN extra compared to the American price.
Not too shabby considering that if I was stuck ordering from Pulse, they would have charged my the whopping 25$US in shipping fee at the bare minimum.

The big boots were a key feature of Animated Bumblebee's silhouette. They were even based on the feet of G1 Bumblebee, which were made from the front bumper area of his own original toy, a toy that also had big boots. So the original feet were already a G1 homage. Hasbro's attempt to G1-ify the feet here results in eliminating something that was already G1-based.-Kanrabat- wrote:Sabrblade wrote:And what were once the front feet on the original design are now the heels of this design, with new tinier feet replacing them.
That's just a small detail.

Yeah, they still refuse to let Animated be Animated. I don't really see any improvement here, it's just as heavily G1fied as Prowl and Bulkhead.

Thinking about it, that's an odd choice.
Also, the way the thing are built, I don't think the feet can rotate. That's unfortunate.

I guess it's a good catch on the feet. It's been so long that I forgot about that. In the end it's still an ascetic conversion and an entirely new toy. For me it hits the mark. I guess I don't need it to be 100% accurate. 80-90 is fine.
If I were interested in Animated BB. Which, sadly, I am not.

In fact, checking the wiki real quick, a vast majority of new-mold G1 Bumblebee toys ( and all of their redecos/retools) made since the original Classics mold in 2006 have all had big boots:-Kanrabat- wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The big boots were a key feature of Animated Bumblebee's silhouette. Having big boots is simply G1 Bumblebee's thing (among other things), and the original Animated Bumblebee toys replicated that faithfully.

First, that's big, sturdy box! The insides of the packaging must be quite premium.
...Or not.
I noticed that the whole thing was put face-down. Not a biggie, but what the F with those paper bundles? Sure, it's way more environmental friendly than plastics clamshells, but still. Am I moving some dishes to a new apartment or what?
Looks like Nova Prime have a bondage fetish. Kinky! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
The super bot looks awesome, except for the hollow firetruck things. I'll be looking forward an upgrade kit.
The mini Prime is nice. Like a clone of Magnus.
The transformation was full of TRAPS. The worst one being the legs-armor's "panels". Those are screwed in place and are not meant to be moved. As for the rest, it's so different than Siege/Kingdom Magnus that I had to look up the instructions to know what to do. That's rare.
The final truck is pretty damn nice.
I'll be looking forward some upgrade kit and the Reprolabels.

This apply to Armada Starscream, Megs, and Optimus.
They could make a 3 pack of these CORE CLASS figures.

SimianProphet wrote:I have been collecting the Legacy Junkions, in anticipation of their eventual combined mode, only to be pretty disappointed by the semi-official Junkasaurus build, once I had it in hand.
I searched around to see if anyone had any more interesting combinations, and I found nothing.
So I tinkered a bit, and came up with this, completely unofficial, but improved (In my opinion) Junkasaurus.
I used a Trashmaster, an Axlegrease, and a Scraphook, along with all of their components.
If anyone has any other cool Junkions combos, I'd love to see them! (I still have yet to find any really good 'Evo-Fusion' ideas for Trashmaster's parts, other than just swapping out the trucks front end)
Nice configuration! I don't mind the official Junkasaurus might not be good... as each individual Junkions are pretty good on their own with a ton of playability. So the combining aspect is a pure bonus. I kind of like Axelgrease's color mixed into the combiner and some asymmetry on the limbs, and not needing to double dip on the same figure is another bonus too.

Bumblebee was previously leaked this week, but these new images show us the official reveal of the figure, complete with his box.
Optimus Prime is brand new for everyone to see, and is a great attempt at remaining faithful to the Animated look while trying to fit in with the rest of the Legacy toyline.
Both figures will receive attention at Pulsecon this weekend, and are expected to go up for Preorder some time this weekend.
Check out the images below, and let us know what you think in the comments below!

If the feet were right on Bee, I would say they got him right too. That is about the only thing wrong with either one of them.

Also I'm glab they showed Primes. If there is one Prime that should always show his face it's this one.

Bee might look better with the rims of his feet painted black and shouldnt look too much like all the other non animated bees that have the bumpers on the feet pointing forwards.

Bro, you got or are getting Commander Armada Prime, right?
I like these animated reveals even though I wasn't a fan of the show or aesthetic. One thing that kinda disappoints me is that Prime doesn't have the flip up face plate and his axe doesn't look like it opens for a double sided blade.

Glad the spinny waist gimmick was done away with.
The lack of face mask is a bit of a downer though, and the stubby feet are less that great, but otherwise, he's a decent attempt.
Will go well with Bulkhead who I still sustain looks more like Animated than Prime.
Bee is fine. Might just pick him up.
That leaves Ratchet for a "complete" season 1 Autobot cast.
Will we get a Grimlock? Lockdown? Seeker?

Granted. His head is Prime, but the APC alt mode, is most definitely Gi-efied Animated.
Posted by Sabrblade on September 19th, 2023 @ 5:44pm CDT
In one of the designer Instagram posts, it was admitted that Legacy Bulkhead's altmode was instead inspired by AOE Hound, and that the Amazon Wreckers redeco was made to give the figure an even bigger resemblance to Hound. So they just straight up admitted that they chose not to base the new Bulkhead figure directly on either existing Bulkhead.Overcracker wrote:Granted. I know "better engineering" is the reason often sighted, which I can understandtoa degree, but with this....It just really stretches that logic, especially when I see a $25 USD price tag of something that shouldn't cost more than $15. I know it would probably be a nightmare for plan o grams, but the original TFs had many different price points and scales. Not just 3 or 4 and we just try to shove everything in-between upscale because there is nothing between a $10-12 core and a $25 deluxe currently.
We need a Generations Warrior Class like Cyberverse and Earthrise to sit between Core and Deluxe.
