My Walmart has basically the opposite distribution. They have all wave 2 except Elita and tarantulas.

Tarantulas, Elita, Wildrider, and Knockout all come in the same case. So you just see what's left if you don't get there first.

For example in my area Wave 1 went from most to least popular:

1. Dragstrip, 2. Kickback, 3. Skids, and 4. Prime Arcee.

For wave 2 I haven't seen enough even to hazard a guess. I'm thinking they will all be extremely popular, but Elita might slightly sell a bit less between just having a toy 2 years ago, and kids (young boys) generally not wanting female characters as much. Not trying to be chauvinistic, just stating a fact. Personally I enjoy female characters, usually their designs are unique and awesome. They just don't sell as well. Although Elitas exclusive availability at Walmart 2 years ago did make her the 2nd most popular character of that deluxe Netflix Wave behind Bumblebee... So we shall see.

I e only ever seen 2 Elitas, then yesterday 1 knockout. This 2nd wave is just barely starting to come out, so not enough to make any real claim of popularity yet.

Well, I finally got to open my Twintwist and Bulkhead.

Bulkead is in the deco he should have been from the very start. Without instructions, his transformation stumped me again until I finally notice that his codpiece dethatch. It's pegged in so securely in bot mode, it's hard to notice. Regardless, perfect overall look and the perfect bridge between AoE Hound and Animated/Prime Bulkhead.

As for Twintwist, it's my first time with the mold. He's easy to figure out, the colors are magnificent, and he's a lot of fun! Let's hope his partner Topspin will be done in "diaclone" colors relatively soon.

If we for some reason don't get a second Wreck N Rule set then I'd like to think Hasbro would find another way like a future Velocitron wave or a Buzzworthy four pack. There's no reason why they couldn't have done a two pack like the other two so I'm going to guess they were just saving Topspin for later.

The ultimate point is, you're not dealing with mass production prices here. So even with the annoying factory middleman pricing from Shapeways, it is still cheaper than injection molding would be for the same purpose.

I'm not forgetting, that's just it. A mass produced part would require $100K steel molds and bulk ordering to bring the price to, let's say, $5 per part (which may or may not also require somebody to remove the part from a sprue, clean the burs and possibly even assemble and sonic weld the part). Shapeways is supposed to be the cheap alternative to that process for the designers so they can get their things out without having to pay the molding costs at a similar price, and that's how it was in the beginning. Instead Shapeways is pushing an inflated price on customers.

Well, it is still cheaper for the designers than traditional production is - by an immense margin. So immense that evidently the shareholders feel they have wiggle room to bump up the cut they take (which of course makes the designers have to charge more for use of their design to actually get any money).

The thing is, I think that even with as fast as those industrial printers are... the piecework nature of the average person's Shapeways order means that they either lose out on efficiency-of-use by only printing one thing to a small handful of things per cycle, or consolidate multiple people's orders into one cycle to use the printers more efficiently and then have to pay somebody to not only remove and pack them, but also keep track of which pieces belong to which order.
But I don't doubt that there's Shareholder Overhead on top of that.

Rapid prototyping is probably their best benefit, but with prices climbing so much you really wouldn't have to buy much before you're better off just buying your own printer and doing it yourself or wait to see if it get copied and sold on eBay.

I'm getting quite annoyed/obsessed with acquiring Tarantulas. I have him preordered on Amazon, at $27 with a delivery date of December 5th. I just checked Pulse, he's available to preorder, with shipping date of September 15th, for $32 after shipping (and before possible taxes) and I've been checking both Wal-Mart and Target, with no results.

So what do I do? Do I wait on Amazon for possibly another 2 and a half months to save $10? They might move the release up. Or do I pay voyager price for a deluxe figure if it means MAYBE having it 2 months earlier?

I’d just buy him on Pulse, personally. Ten bucks is a trivial amount.

Deluxe Wave 2 is starting to show up in stores. I know my closest Target had at least one case since I was able to see Elita and Knockout. If you ask an employee specifically, sometimes they'll tell you when the next shipment is coming if you direct them to the tag on the shelf. For instance, I found out another deluxe case is coming this Thursday the 15th. After getting one case of wave 2 Already,it seems logical it would be the same, but I've seen older waves come in after the fact. In any case I hope to be there when the doors open Thursday to see if I can snag a Wildrider.

I'd just keep checking the brick and mortar stores when you go in for groceries. If you find it there, cancel Amazon. And if not then you have Amazon as a backpack and they might ship early.

It just feels weird being like this about getting a figure. It's rarely happened. I did see Elita at Target last night, but she was with Prime Arcee and Red Cog. So I wasn't sure who her wavemates were.

Well, for me the fuss comes from being a completionist. I love Beast Wars and I never got the figures in the 90s, so when it was revealed that they were getting updates in Kingdom, I nearly hit the ceiling and I was determined to get the complete season 1 cast, in scale nonetheless. Only Tarantulas and Inferno remain. On top of that, Tarantulas is my 3rd favorite Predacon, after Megatron and Inferno. And his figure looks great. I'll accept it being only passable for actual play value and transformation.

Still no sign of the deluxes in my area, they are the last figures I need for the wave too. Only want 3, PotP is my Elita.

Saw Tarantulas and Elita today. Really hoping the stores near me get the other two as they're the ones I'm most excited for

Just found Jhiaxus in Wisconsin Dells WalMart. No other newbies. They have about 12 Voyager Haulers. Think we have a new shelfwarming champion.

Waiting for Wave 02, not to make anyone nervous but this is slowly getting out.

Jhiaxus was a horrible disapointment in vehicle mode. Bot mode is okay but...

Seriously? THe entire underside of the cockpit and front quarter of the plane is hollow? I should have watched the reviews but the OCD in me would have forced me to get him anyways....he'll just stay in bot mode.

On a side note...am I the only one who thinks that mold would be perfect for Armada Thrust?

Ugh... I'm going to preface this rant by saying, yes I know it's easier to shop online. But its also more expensive, and I'm often the last to get something (whoever gets these toys first is like playing whack-a-mole). Also Most times I dont waste gas going to stores unnecessarily, I check while doing normal shopping, but this morning was an exception.

Anyway...a kind employee at Target told me last week, a new shipment of Legacy Deluxe was coming 9/15. So I arranged so I could take a quick break from work and be there this morning when the doors open at 8...

Sure enough I get back to toys, and the one peg (this will be important) they have for Legacy Deluxe has a wave one Prime Arcee, two Tarantulas, and one Elita 1. Now I strongly suspect that the Elita was the same that was there a couple of days ago, but for the sake of argument, lets say it is new... That means in the back there should be at the very least... 2x Wildrider, 2x Knockout and 1 Elita right?

The one employee in toys just happened to be right there, so I kindly asked the question to please check in the back. She was very short, and abrupt... "I dont Backstock collectables!!"

I tried to explain to her the match that 8-3=5, and where would those 5 have gone? She just shrugged her shoulders and walked away...so frustrating, and there were literally no other employees in site, I had to get home otherwise I would have gone to management.

Now I understand the sentiment that middle-aged creepy fat guys dont deserve good customer service is valid , so I'll send in my ringer later this afternoon... My daughter has actually become quite adept at obtaining things for me , and she enjoys doing it.

If that fails however, if someone could please post the Amazon link to Wild Rider that would be appreciated. I'm sure its currently unavailable to pre-order (unlike the rest of wave 2), which is why it doesn't show up on search, but any help would be appreciated.

For Target specifically, the store may or may not get a full case, and they may not actually get it within a Hasbro case box itself. I've seen employees stock some of the deluxe pegs and voyager slots with figures from plain brown internal target shipping boxes.

So in your example, it could very well be the employee just didn't want to go back and look, or it could be that they might have just stocked them from an internal shipment and put out the only figures they received.

Also, maybe this is the Targets in my area, but all the stores near me stock during the open store hours, not overnight. At least in my area, right after opening is the worst time to go. Right about 10:00 seems to be the sweet spot in the store near me where the carts from the back with new stuff to be stocked are out.

But at TRU, it's like your situation, way more space dedicated to super 7 than Legacy Deluxe Class.

I have a question though, you said online is more expensive, but isn't shipping free at a particular threshold for most places? Like Target and Amazon. But yes, if the goal is also to get something earlier then brick and mortar can't be written off.

At least in my area (obviously can't speak for o.supreme), the brick-and-mortar prices for the main retail waves have lagged behind in price increases compared to online. While exclusives like Buzzworthy Silverstreak and the Velocitron Deluxes are still going up at $24.99 online and in-store pre-tax, the retail Legacy (and I think also Studio Series, but I haven't bought an SS figure in a bit so I could be wrong) Deluxes are still at $22.99 because they only rose to that point when Legacy started, not when Hasbro implemented that change mid-Kingdom. If I'm buying multiple figures per wave, I would absolutely rather buy from the cheaper option since that'll add up, and unless figures are on-sale online (like Amazon Warehouse deals) the cheaper option ends up being brick-and-mortar 9/10 times even taking into account free shipping.

Yes, I am surprised, since from the feedback I see on message boards, Hasbro can't rely on fans to sell whatever portion you'd expect in other lines that interest fans. So that would means kids and parents are left to buy them.

It's very similar. I do have Amazon Prime, which does offer free shipping, but you still have tax. Honestly I use Prime mostly for books and physical media more so than toys unless I have no other option. But whereas last year Kingdom Deluxes would go down, even at pre order in some cases to $17 or $18, that's not happening with Legacy. There are occasional sales (like Skids is $17.50 right now), but all pre-orders are at $24.99

Target and Walmart have them for around $21 or $22 (Yes Buzzworthy and exclusives are a bit more expensive, but you get the idea, also ironically, because of the overstock of Toy deco Terrorsaur and raw chicken Dinobot, I anticipate those going on sale soon if they ever hope to move them). B&M is still overall cheaper as long as not too much time and fuel is expended.

As for getting something first its all random. Last year items would seemingly be online months before B&M. With Legacy, it seems to be the opposite at the moment. I've literally seen everything for wave 2 now except for Wildrider...go figure. I've even seen most of the new SS stuff also (never saw core Spike, but have seen plenty of Wheelie & Ratchet). Also I believe the newest Voyager assortment with BB Thundercracker and AoE Galvatron has been spotted, but I haven't seen those yet either.

I see, so yeah due to the fast changing prices, the online outlets are quicker to update than the brick and mortar so those end up being at a deal, yeah. For some reason in Canada walmart was really quick to bump up the price and TRU is a lost cause now with their 20-30% markup on all Hasbro products. So fans wanting to make sure they get all their toys at the best price end up with preorders from Gamestop as a best option. Crazy how times have changed.

With Earthrise giving us Cliffjumper at the deluxe price scale, we all saw that Hasbro would be keen on rereleasing all minibots in this new price point. Since then we got Bumblebee, Warpath, Pipes, Huffer and Cosmos and these new listings from JT Prime show that more are on the way. In the list below we can see that we will be getting a deluxe Brawn and Beachcomber next year. There is also Bombshell to further our Insecticon collection and core Thundercracker as expected. And this year of Legacy is going all out on the multiverse idea by bringing in RID with Strongarm (though there are other bots called Strongarm so we'll see) and Cyberverse Shadowstriker. That last one is a real tease since we previously had a listing named "ShadowS" which turned out to be "Shadowstrip" but this time we do have the ShadowStriker name written out. Below is a full list which also includes a new Wild Rider listing with a different code than the previous release and not labelled as PR (Product Refresh) so this "might" be another G2 Stunticon.

I would have assumed Robo WLD RDR refers to "Robots in Disguise Universe Wildrider" but in the 2015 RID series the closest name used was Wildbreak.

This may be my favorite leak list yet. Shadow Striker and Strongarm potentially on the same Legacy shelf peg? Fantastic.

Maybe this means we're finally getting earth mode Hound? And the repaint will just release before the "original" character, Prime Wars style. Devcon is a deluxe, so I'm intrigued if he'll be a new mold or a retool/pretool of something else.

Detritus might just be the Siege mold, we just got another Siege Soundwave release with a new deco.
