So wait, Autobot City was built in 1986, and had been around long enough to sustain repeated attacks by year's end? Attacks incredibly similar to a pivotal one 19 years later? I'll never play these games, but Sweet Primus, I love their continuity!

This reminds me of what a Dutch Transfan once wrote about the Marvel Movie adaptation replacing reprints of US#24 and 25 in the Netherlands, meaning that when things came back to the present, Optimus and Megatron were somehow dead 2 decades earlier due to their future deaths.

My only slight letdown is that this doesn't seem to be based on Digital Doom on the Highway to Destruction, which is what the first few sentences made me think of. Someone has to keep the spirit of S.T.A.R.S. mail-away ad continuity alive, and it may as well be these guys! (Though maybe that's just on my mind because the story below this is about Dairycon promoting and Omnibot to Convoy)

The year is referring to when the movie came out, not when the city was built. Pretty sure it takes more than one year to build an entire city, and since Autobot City was not yet built in 1985, it's doubtful that it was completed less than a year later. ;)

Last event I nabbed 3 full Orion Pax cards, but narrowly missed out on the top 5K because I didn't look at my rank until 5 minutes before the end of the event when I saw I was at 5700. I quickly finished up an H10 run and chained another Pax but it only pushed me up to 5200 with seconds left in the event. So no Alpha Trion for me. Grr. I'm going to farm this event. I noticed they failed to reset the Teletraan 1 again, but a blog post says this will probably be the last time. I'm 2 spots away from the top but no way can I secure enough points to snag even one Optimus without committing to the event, much less 4. So I farm, and wait for the next event that grabs me.

just like usual the rank rewards are horrible, you have to place in the top 5000 to get 1 special card thats ridiculous. The ruby medal cards are no better, 4000 for a soundwave come on man.

Easiest way is to chain a bunch of Cyclonus cards on H10. The hard part is getting there, you'll need a good deck or a ton of cubes. Screenshot your deck and I'll see what advice I can give.

Yeah, I remember giving you startup advice, and it looks like you've done well. Like I said, the easiest way to get points is to keep spamming Hard 10 and capturing Cyclonus. With your current deck you can probably get to Hard, but climbing above Hard 5 might cost you in cubes. You can capture him on the lower Hard levels but it doesn't grant as many points. Here's what I recommend: get your free Sky Lynx and Squawkbox cards. First, write down your friend code. Then, clear your game data (you can sign back in later, assuming you didn't use a throwaway login), and create a new account. It doesn't check the email address, so just put in anything. Add your main account as a friend with the code you wrote down earlier. Get up to level 8 (it should take 10-15 minutes of continuous play) and then repeat 29 more times. I know it's time-consuming, but the reward is 2 more MTM with weapon R5 cards that will stay in your deck for a long time. Once you're playing on your main account again, see how high you can get on Hard without bleeding cubes. X2 or X3 bonus cards will help, but don't waste your chains on the Easy or Medium bosses yet, so see what you can get from the Ruby bridges. Again, your goal is to capture a bunch of H10 Cyclonuses (probably at least 12), but if you're bleeding cubes you'll have to decide if it's worth it, or just try to capture a ton of the lower level Cyclonuses.

Thank you for the advise, I am trying that now. I'm a wee bit worried though. they seem to have updated it part way through. for 5 friends i got Squawktalk, but not its saying 5 friends is Skylynx. Did i miss out on half of skylynx?

I can confirm at 8 I got Skylynx's weapon, wtf am I supposed to do with this.

Really? ANOTHER Soundwave card? ANd Ramjet last time for the 533rd time. Shockwave again last time. Can they at least change the characters up a little? I think what they are going with the evolution cards this time and last time- the "creation" of the Sweeps, Scourge, and Cyclonus, and the evolution of Elita One and Optimus Prime- were really good ideas. But damnit, change up the characters! Or create evolution cards out of Gestalts! But put some new characters in there. Variety is the spice of life... :BANG_HEAD:

From TFWiki:
Artist Don Figueroa submitted a concept for a Unicron Trilogy Bludgeon toy way back during the development of the Energon or Cybertron toylines. Obviously, the concept wasn't put into production as a toy at the time, so Figueroa used it as inspiration for his IDW Publishing Stormbringer rendition of Generation 1 Bludgeon. However, Hasbro evidently resurrected the concept for the Universe (as mentioned by Hasbro at BotCon 2009) and then the Revenge of the Fallen lines, where it was finally released as that universe's Bludgeon. Figueroa notes that his contribution on this toy is very small, as his work on it ended when he submitted the concept to Hasbro way back when.

They ordinarily take the Classics/Generations designs for this stuff, with the occasional movie design. I don't recall the last time they used an MP.

Are we certain that it's specifically the MP design and not just a design based on G1 Sideswipe in general?

Optimus's Legends designs look like they could be either MP Convoy or a general G1 Optimus design.

Being that all of the panel lines, hinges, etc. that are exclusive to the MP figure are present in this image, yes, I am sure it's specifically the MP design and not a generic G1-based design.

Give it another look.

The chest hood looks more like the scrunched-up flat G1 cartoon design chest hood rather than the spread out flat MP chest hood to me.

It could just be a general design that draws inspiration from the MP as well as from the basic G1 Sideswipe look ordinarily.

I'm not sure if you're being contrarian for the sake of being contrarian...

Bludgeon's face and forearms are not 100% accurate to the ROTF toy, but it is unmistakably ROTF Bludgeon. Whether you want to say it's "inspired by" ROTF Bludgeon is up to you, but it is ROTF Bludgeon. So too with Sideswipe here - you can say it's "inspired by" MP Sideswipe, but it is unmistakably the MP design, slightly shrunken chest or not.

Yep, just placed my order for the four as well. Saved $2.25 ($9.00 total) on each and qualified for free shipping. The retail stores in my area haven't started getting in anything yet so this is the best route to get the figures and at a discount at that. Thanks so much for the discount code.

I managed to snag Goldfire, Hoist, and Dreadwing through http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com a couple of weeks ago, but for some reason they failed to list Skids at the same time. And of course, now it's out of stock. So now I'm waiting for Skids to be restocked and hopefully that'll happen about the same time Whirl is added to the "Order Now" category. Or maybe even when Rattrap, Crosscut, Tankor, Arcee, and Chromia are added would be excellent as well. Free shipping is free shipping.

I also recommend ordering the simplified transformation version of Voyager Class Predaking. This dude is huge and lists for the same price as the other Voyagers that are smaller than it is, including its original version of itself. And the wings are better than the original when it comes to posing them behind Predaking in robot mode.

It would be nice to take part in this event, but as soon as I updated, I get the SD card issue, which has nothing on it. First I miss out one a even with Getaway who being a 2nd gen RX-7 made me angry (I was getting a separate issue for over a month saying my smartphone was to blame, which it wasn't they fixed it after the Halloween one), now I'll probably miss out on this one. This is the only game from Mobadge I've had issues with.

DeNA has announced the latest event for their Transformers Legends mobile device game, "When Sparks Fly". Check out the details and promo art below. The game can be downloaded by clicking here.

WHEN SPARKS FLY" A BEAST WARS EVENT IS NOW LIVE!

Racing to a volatile crash site in the wilderness, the Maximal Silverbolt is astonished to discover a pod marked only with an “X” at the crater’s epicenter. Still unsure of what the pod contains, the villainous Predacons attack Silverbolt, trying to steel the pod! Leading the charge, Predacons Blackarachnia, Waspinator and Terrorsaur overpower the noble Maximal, but Silverbolt will go down fighting!

Terrorsaur accidentally breaks the pod open during the battle and its contents are let loose—the abomination called Rampage, a mish-mash of scientific monstrosity created to destroy and devour its enemies—and Rampage thinks EVERYONE is his enemy!

The bombastic battle knocks Silverbolt and Blackarachnia into a swamp where they are forced to rely on each other to survive. At first, bitter enemies, Silverbolt’s chivalrous attitude slowly wins over Blackarachnia’s acidic personality. The two survive and rejoin the melee, only to discover that while on opposite sides of the battle line, the two have more in common than either would have dared believe.

The skirmish with Rampage is joined by Depthcharge, a fierce Maximal who recognized the crashed pod for what it was, the prison holding Rampage! Blaming Rampage for the slaughter of dozens of his friends, Depthcharge is out for revenge!

"...robots die!"

Battlebots was on at the same time Fox was airing butchered reruns of Beast Wars, so it makes enough sense.

And hey, Terrorsaur lived until at least Bad Spark in game 'continuity'! Awesome! Here's hoping his card is his Transmetal body.

Okay, so I take it she doesn't actually appear in this, lest the Technobots have to fend off Disney lawyers?

Actually, they'd make for an interesting ultra-rare card, maybe represented by that Optimouse Prime toy...

I'm surprised they never tried for a legally safe analogue.

If they put a woman in a body suit and have her shoot electricty and call her Buzzkill or something can Hasbro still get sued?
