Notice the box he came in? It is written "TRA GEN MAY MAYHEM DELUXE GROOVE". This could be a huge clue. Some may remember that last year Hasbro had a May Mayhem publicity event. The highlight of this promotion was that this would be the month where fans could acquire the unreleased individual Combiner Wars components Quickslinger (Slingshot) and Brake-neck (Wildrider):

This was the description of that part of the event last year:
May 22 – AERIALBOT QUICKSLINGER and STUNTICON BRAKE-NECK will be available exclusively through participating online retailers, such as Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Target.com, ToysRUs.com, Entertainment Earth, BigBadToyStore, Diamond Comics and Hasbro Toy Shop. With these two new figures, fans are finally able to complete their G1-accurate SUPERION and MENAOR figures! In addition to these all-new toys, several vendors will be running special promotions on TRANSFORMERS GENERATIONS: COMBINER WARS figures, providing fans with an ideal way to complete their collections.
It could possibly be that this event will be repeated and the other two members that have yet to get an individual release in the west will. One being Deluxe Groove and the other being Shuttle Blastoff.

I hope this pans out, cause I'd like a groove without all the fuss of buying a whole set.
I doubt it but I hope they release Blast-Off too. I like the Hasbro blast-off, (actually I prefer it) but it would still be cool to have.

The differences between Hasbro's and Takara's Groove are minor, but are as follows:
•Hasbro's Groove has silver screws vs. Takara Tomy's black screws

•Hasbro's copyright stamp is tampoed on the bottom backside of his feet

•Hasbro's knee joint pin has a large flat head vs. Takara's normal pin

•Hasbro's "date" stamp is different on the inside of his right leg (60461), which is similar to the stamp on the package (60541)

That'll be for the official NA release and by changes there will just be less paint and only one gun...shajaki wrote:Anyone else think it's odd that they didn't take the opportunity to make a handful of changes? instead they're carbon copies...

I kid, I kid or do I?

It is odd and I'm surprised myself but hey no complaints about the Hasbro version having crap paint right?
It should be like this more often where the toys are pretty much the same.
I wonder if we are getting anyone else besides Groove and Blast Off do you guys think we will ever get the Starscream and Conehead (curse Thrust) molds from the Takara Grand Galvatron set?

Anything is possible; but so far no hints, rumors or announcements. You'd think Seekers would be a shoe in too. I'd definitely pick up a Starscream. Especially that sexy ghost version... meow!Deadput wrote:I wonder if we are getting anyone else besides Groove and Blast Off do you guys think we will ever get the Starscream and Conehead (curse Thrust) molds from the Takara Grand Galvatron set?

I myself would like to see a non translucent version of the Starscream version not that the Ghost Starscream is bad but I would like to see a version with normal paint or whatever.

I'm still praying someone does do this and posts it. I want to see it for reals

Not sure that was an actual plan or someones idea as part of their strange obsession over the character.

That said, and maybe I'm a bit alone on this idea slash concept; but I've been warming towards the idea of Rook and Alpha Bravo being generic drones - this especially helps for me with Sky Reign, where for displays I'd rather not have multiple Hounds, Smokescreens, Trailbreakers and Wheeljacks, but the idea of having Sky Reign instead merge with some generic drones for his combined form helps. Plus it kiiiiiind of harkens back to his original merged form being him and a flat drone thing? Maybe? Sort of? Eh, I just like the idea. Especially when it gives a glorious white-with-accents colour scheme befitting of Sky Lynx.

Revisionist history makes my head hurt. Other than some minor confusion upon their release where Amazon may or may not have accidentally listed them too early, those figures were insanely easy to come by for a couple months.mblase75 wrote:I just hope that this figure (these figures?) are a LITTLE easier to get ahold of than Quickslinger and Brake-Neck were. Wal-Mart couldn't seem to make up their mind as to whether they were in stock or not. I ended up ordering from multiple sites just to be sure I could get one copy of each figure.
