These guys ignored the fandom stating "We're making our own movie not based on a toyline" then what do they do, they go to where the fans of the existing material and toys gather!?!

Difficult to accept your arguments. We've spent over a year interacting with fans, listening to concerns, explaining our decisions when we disagreed, and even changing our minds on a few points.
And like it or not, we're fans.

Could you imagine someone as deeply involved with this movie saying something else. I'm Not saying this comment is not complete lip service. But It seems a little Tired for every person who had a hand in making this movie to say they are a fan of G1 transformers, For some type Nerd street cred. I dont think most people buy it or care. I think you guys did a great job with MI:3. But outside of the action there is so many things that are completely devoid and misrepresented about the G1 mythos and character.

Its not G1 and he said that he is a "fan" not a fan of g1 only or g2 or cybertron, or beast wars, just a "fan" I am a fan of transformers in general even though I havent watched a full episode since about the time of beast wears but doesthat make me less of a fan than someone who is a completist on the toys or a "g1 purist".

And now they travel into the heart of enemy territory: BotCon.
Brave men, these writers. Brave men indeed.
EDIT: Ooh! I though of another analogy: It's like George Lucas going to a Star Trek convention.

QFT. Given the number of times the franchise has been re-imagined (G1, G2, Beast Wars, Cybertron...) why should this take on it be any less legitimate than those that have come before?
Look at the X-Men flick for example.
"OMG thats not the original lineup!"
"OMG thats not what the uniforms look like!"
"OMG Wolverine isn't that tall!"
Yet at the end of the day, they were among some of the best Marvel adaptations produced. I honestly wonder at times how many people are 'hating' this movie production simply because it's seen as the in thing to do.

Actually, I expected a lot of "disgruntled" stuff about the movie last year. There was none that I saw. Everyone always seems to be in such high spirits at Botcon (almost 'starstruck' in a sense). I don't think there'll be anything but a great panel from all of the guests. I, for one, can't wait to hear both of them, and others, speak about the movie. Besides, if anyone starts being a jerk, they’ll just look like an @$$ in front of everyone.
And, no your George Lucas analogy makes no sense here. These two men actually had a hand in Transformers lore. The only way your analogy works is if it were writers and designers for Go-Bots attending.

I dont think it will be that bad. I'd pay money to see that however along Side Joel Shumacher at a Comicon. Now theres a riot ready to happend. But Spielberg and Murphy "at one time" said this movie was going to be based on G1 concepts. Speilberg had announced that he was making a movie based on RiD, Energon, or any other iteration other then G1 I would not have even shown a intial interest. cause save for Beast Wars no other Iteration interest me to the point of spending money.
