But I doubt each cinema would have only one copy, usually they have their main copy, then get a second as a backup.

There's still a huge buzz about it though, which i think is more pleasing - virtually everyone I know is very, very excited about it, and only one of my friends is particularly keen on transformers.
Interestingly, it seems like creative types are especially excited about TFs - most of my circle of friends are in bands or do something artistic and they're absolutely wetting themselves about the film...

Simpsons? Bayformers?

Simpsons? Bayformers?
QFT. But don't count it out just yet. I am sure it will be a..."smashing" success, as our friends across the pond would say.
Expect Transformers to do well, regardless of Homer & Co.

In japan they were given free bumblebee toys with the tickets for pitys sake.

At first, I was content with letting the reviewer have their negative opinion...until I saw the hatred behind the review. (And yes, it clearly is hatred)
Not just for the source material, not just for the movie and it's cast, but the derogatory remarks about the fans as well.
I have no problem with someone not liking the movie. That's their right, they're entitled to it.
My problem is... when you become this vicious and disrespectful, my care for anyone's opinion has flown out the window. This..."person" can go f*ck themselves. Like...yesterday.

that said im not sure if the simpsons will out do transformers. on the surface you'd expect it too but its not getting a good write up form people thatve actually gone to see it. its alright but apparently goes down hill after the first 30min to be just "meh".
the interesting thing is most of the radio and newspapers are heavily covering the simpsons movie with interviews with mike scully and groening and a lagrer column in the reviews section and only gives a cursory account of transformers, albeit with a huge thumbs up i havent actually read a bad review of it in the press. the fun thing is while the radio presenters clearly dont get it or have any real interest in it every time its mentioned the texts lines go mental. methinks the media is backing the wrong horse and are gonna be completly lost when it wipes the floor with homer.
dont get me wrong . i like the simpsons and will probably go see the film in the next week or two but i am going to see transformers again on monday with one of me best mates despite the fact i have it on pirate and seen it at the previews last week. its that good. plus as homer himself says in the simpsons movie "why should i pay money to see something i can see for free at home!". in that context thirty foot robots hanging off a jet and flying through a building looks a lot more attractive. your just not going to see anything like transformers anywhere else this year whereas the plot of the simpsons movie is basically akin to a few of the old series episodes rolled together. theres alot in the adds that looks naggingly familiar.
i guess if i was to be suscint the simpsons are winning the spin war here but i think transformers will take the box office as theres much more of an underground buzz around it from people that will actually part with cash to see it as opposed to critics who get a free screening. and hell it wouldnt be the first time the critics got it wrong
PS thought you'd like to know theyre going nuts with the film in my home town. first show starts at 6.15am and the last is at 3am with shows practically every hours. thats just insane ! ive never seen anything like that. ok theyre doing it with the simpsons movie too to make it a big head to head but still

This is what I'm talking about. You get it! You had fun! That's what this was all about. To introduce us to the characters and for us to have fun.
And they achieved both.
