We already know that Onyx Prime will be released with the set itself, though we have no definite confirmation of the availability elsewhere so far, and the Matrix can be a stand-in for the Tirteenth Prime, meaning that these three are still possible to see a release in the short term future (i.e. before the line ends), and given that the image's source appears to be Weibo user Raffy Rodriguez - a known name from previous ..news stories - the possibilities are interesting. Take a look at the image below, and join the speculation in the Energon Pub discussion!

What caught my eye is that we see 12 primes there, does that mean we won't be getting the 13th, which, if the aligned continuity applies, would fit as the 13th prime of course is Optimus himself.

Wish that glare wasn't there, can't get a clear look at Onyx. From what little we can see that really doesn't look to be the same as the one that comes with the Predacons. Hard to tell but it doesn't seem to have the gold in the middle and the black outline, it appears to be two-toned like every standard Prime Master is, in yellow and light orange. I still say the wording "Special Edition" rather than "exclusive" means we're getting Onyx twice.
It looks more like the art we saw on the display backdrop at NYCC.
I also just realized that's Quintus on the right and the two appear basically the same color just like they do on that poster of the Prime Masters. Also interesting that all four missing Prime Masters are yellow, what could be the significance of that?

Prima isn’t yellow.

Oops, I was looking at Amalgamous.
Still, I wonder if there's a reason why we got four yellow, four white, and then four non-matching Prime Masters.

Megatronus: Dark Warrior
Vector: Time Traveler
Prima: Warrior of Light
Alchemist: Mystical Scientist
Quintus: Seeder of Life
Amalgamous: Shape-Shifter
Nexus: Power of Combination
Solus: Weapons Forger
Onyx: Beast Prime
Liege Maximo: Trickster
Micronus: Power Swap(?)
Alpha Trion: Infinite Knowledge(?)
Those last two are pretty blurry and hard to read.

The distro for PotP is really killin my buzz for the Hunt, honestly. I go online primarily for vintage -- if I had to go completely online for the latest, I'd probably spend less due to shipping, etc.

Also, I know some are saying the matrix is a stand in for the 13th Prime, but see below early Promo art actually had 15 symbols, further proof in my mind that this line was seemingly cut short, though I'm sure someone will quickly post that this is not the case.

I've pretty much given up on hunting and just preorder from BBTS or TFsource now days. I've been wasting too much gas running around looking for anything especially since they don't seem to be sticking anything new. Every Wal-Mart and Target around me are just restocking wave 1 for some reason (but not the leader class figures) and are just now getting the studio series in.......

I asked that question at least 3 times previously in this thread...Some speculate it's Primus and Unicron, others said the 3 additional (12+3) represented the 3 matrixes that come with the 3 leaders- OP, RU, and OO, but now that we have a 4th Leader Nemesis Prime and coming out...??? but there has been no definitive answers as far as I know.

Actually,Nemesis prime would be the 5th leader, well 4th or 5th depending on whether he makes it out before monkey prime. OP, RP, RU, NP and OO. But, the 3 symbols being the 3 matrices could still work if we assume OP and NP share a matrix and RP and RU share a matrix. At this point, though, I believe it is anyone wild guess.

I think he meant that both Optimus Prime and Rodimus Prime have the Matrix of Leadership while Rodimus Unicronus, Optimal Optimus, and Nemesis Prime all have different Matrices. But, Optimal Optimus's Matrix actually is still the Matrix of Leadership, so it is only three Matrices after all: the Matrix of Leadership, the Matrix of Chaos, and the Dark Matrix of Leadership.TF-fan kev777 wrote:o.supreme wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:Wait fifteen symbols? It's nothing more but their standard titles, really. You can find them of the back of the cards.

Has anyone removed Elita's stickers to see how it is under ?
I was waiting for reprolabels, but the set they just released is probably even worse than Hasbro's, so I wonder to just remove all this stuff.

But bottom line — very curious if someone can post the pics you just requested (what's under factory stickers).

Planet Iacon on Facebook has images of the first wave of Takara POTP toys in packaging and it is the same packaging as the Hasbro release. They do have a sticker showing the name of the toy in Japanese, but as you can see below, that sticker doesnt eve completely cover the Hasbro logo at times.
Below you will find PP (snicker) 07-09, Jazz, Rodimus and Optimus Prime.

No. Micron Legends, Superlink and Galaxy force toys were often different than Armada, Energon and Cybertron toys.
While it was mainly deco/paint différences, not a lot of remolds.

The trick is in the wording - "pre-AOE, movie toylines" versus "pre-AOE-movie toylines". Either could be reasonably read. Unfortunately since I don't remember anything about Takara's previous movie toylines, I can't contribute anything else other than a pedantic explanation...

i imagine a lot, really. in previous cases, they have different deco and boxes than hasbro, so they just imported the unpainted mold from hasbro, and then repaint it themself, and then print their own packaging. in this new case, not only does there's no need to repaint the figures, if you pay attention, the japanese name on the packaging is just stickers, that just slapped over hasbro's packaging to cover hasbro logo. means they literally just imported hasbro product as is and slapped stickers on the box. the cost of paints and packagings are now replaced by cost for small stickers only. that should save a lot, really. i just hope all those money saved goes to the right direction.

Actually, no. I've never been big at all into Japanese G1 (save for their having had Minerva), so I'm happy with Hasbro's.

Bro' Same China/Vietnam factories Nothing imported from Hb. Just different job orders. . At least back then. Now we have the unified product roll out.(six month delay for the JP market)
As for the costs going down, the reports that Takara/Tomy having financial troubles might just be one of the reasons why they caved so fast and went for the unification business model.
The other reason is that the JPs aren't making too many kids for their kids toylines. Only manchildren are the ones buying

Well that's a problem only the Japanese can solve (maybe they should let a few more immigrants in if the locals aren't reproducing)
Anyways...I'm quite taken by this inferno, I do have fun with the hotspot mold. If he makes his way to the UK I may pick him up.

Take care with yours! Maybe shave down those pegs so they don't lock in as securely; that way there'll be less stress and they hopefully won't be as likely to snap? (I knew it was never a good idea to make such vast expanses of the toy out of clear plastic...)

Modesto, CA has a much bigger claim to fame than being the largest city in Stanislaus County. It is the birthplace of George Lucas!
