After having been sighted at smaller specialty shops, and having pricing confirmed, we can now report that Transformers Power of the Primes figures have finally been sighted at mass retail in Australia! Fan M Nero sent us this photograph from a POTP display in a Myer store in Chadstone, Victoria, showing us that Leader Class, Voyager Class and Deluxe Class figures can currently be purchased. This is great news for Australian fans who have been waiting for Power of the Primes figures to show up, as many other countries have seen the figures since late last year. Are you in a corner of the world that is just seeing POTP figures hitting the shelves? Let us know about it! Email us with photo evidence, as well as letting us know where and when you saw it, and your sighting could be front page news! Also, don't forget to share your sightings with fellow collectors both for individual figure sightings and figure sightings in your local area!

Love waiting for the full wave to get here! May be more out of pocket initially, but is is really? No driving to all the same stores several times per week which also saves a ton of time. Excited to get these bad boys open!

Has it been revealed what size the Predacons will be? Or is that not even a PotP discussion?

POTP Predaking is a Titan class figure, presumed to be of similar size to Devastator and consist of roughly Voyager-sized Predacons.

Wave 2 of Transformers Power of the Primes is just around the corner and Entertainment Earth now has descriptions of the contents of each case. The Prime Masters will have repacks and since there are five deluxes in wave 2, some will be packed more than others. The listings state that these are coming out in April 2018 which is exactly as was predicted in the guide we released back in October.

If you do have roughly $300 U.S. (after tax) to drop all at once, that is great. But I don't think I've ever seen the entirety of one wave at one time in the same store. Especially with TR when Leaders for one wave would show up months later than the rest of the wave. When I do get them at B&M, its usually while grocery shopping, so no gas wasted ;) .

He's the only new leader class figure in the case. His preorder is already marked up 20 bucks on BBTS. :( I'm referring to Rodimus Unicronus, for clarification's sake.

Or Amazon or HTS (assuming you are in the US).

True. I was about to criticize HTS on their lack of items actually in stock, and Amazon's prices can be all-over-the-place, but I guess its just as much a chance as finding the items at B&M.

I'm used to the usual websites tacking on a few dollars here and there. That's nothing new to me. But, the sheer scale of the price raising on the PotP line has been glaring. I'd love to hear the rationale behind it all. God knows, it's not due to improved quality.

At least with wave 2 taking its sweet time and actually getting us back on track time wise for waves, I can save up the money for it and spend time enjoying the new guys I have. Though I am super stoked for Blackwing so I can combine him and Dreadwind and the final 2 dinobots.

Rodicron is so cool looking, I need him now. that's the one I don't want to wait for.

Another advantage to waiting another 2 months or so: all those legends and MP releases in the next 2 months, can focus on them too!

They are probably trying to decide if they will even offer the short packed Moonracer & Blackwing separately at an increased priced, or just stick with the entire wave 2 assortment.

Pre-ordered everything so just a matter of waiting for those leaders to finally get in. TF source always seems to be 1-2 weeks behind on items getting listed or in stock. Any idea why that would be?

On the one hand this break is good because most of my purchasing is in waves 1 and 2. On the other hand I hate the waiting around to complete my Dinobots and get Elita-1 and 2 more Prime Masters. I just hope HTS has them on a good sale with free shipping or allows me to make a good sale and get automatic free shipping. Either way if I'm saving money the wait is worth it for this fun line. 8-)

Might be how stuff is shipped. The literal slow boat from China is the cheapest method. My suspicion is that BBTS does a bulk order that way and pays extra to get a few cases in earlier by air.

I don't have proof of this, only experience in working for a company who used to do exactly this when receiving product manufactured in Asia.

Just got my OP (now available in Germany I can confirm) and I have some questions/issues:

1. His stickers arent't applied even but I guess that's common.

2. There are a lot of clearance issues when I want to open his outer chest panels. Feels like they'll break some day.

3. His chin is scratched right out of the package.

4. His shoulders do not really pack in. When I want to use his bicep swivels the whole shoulder moves forward.

And that's just right out of the package without even having transformed him for once :(
I hope there won't be any more surprises. But I really like that his blaster has a lot of 5 mm ports (not the only thing I like about the figure of course but something I haven't realized before). I already ordered some melee weapons and an Arms Micron for him so even more options to combine weapons

Shame about Moonracer. Blackwing at least gets a second run in wave 4, but Moonracer is only getting the one (unless she shows up in wave 5 or 6). They really shouldn't have crammed five new figures into wave 2, maybe they should have done two Blackwings in wave 2, move Moonracer to wave 3 in place of the second Jazz run, and move Jazz to wave 4 in place of Blackwing's second run. Very strange that they would make Blackwing short when Dreadwing got a normal run and isn't getting a second one. It's like whoever decides these things doesn't even know those two go together. Strange stuff.

That's because he actually is. Expect every Prime Master to used twice, 6 molds for 12 Primes. We already have Waverider out of Cloudburst and Landmine out of Metalhawk, I'm expecting Bomb-Burst out of Skullgrin.

I don't get the distribution for this case. It would have made more sense for all the Terrorcons to have been in the same wave, at 2 per case, and for Wave 2 to have been 2 each of Blackwing, Sludge, Snarl and Moonracer.

I get that she's not nearly as popular or anticipated as Arcee was, but shortpacking her in a case, when she's never had a mass-released toy, and this is her first toy in over 33 years of having appeared in fiction.... just rubs me the wrong way. Also makes me think that Firestar will get the same treatment in Wave 4.

I do get the need for more variety compared to Combiner Wars, but there may may be factors in play that made Wave 2 the way it is:

- The release of Hun-Gurrr in Wave 2 necessitates the release of another Terrorcon
- The release of Elita-1 in Wave 2 resulted in Moonracer added into the mix
- With the apparent goal of having a combiner completed in two waves (Dreadwing and Volcanicus), Blackwing and the final 2 Dinobots are thrown in.

About Moonracer and Blackwing being shortpacked, that may stem from beasts being new and a possible bigger sell. What may also play is the trend of female characters in boy's toy lines not selling. No kidding, I'm seeing RiD Windblades en masse compared to the rest of the line's leftovers. Worse, a certain competitor has started shortpacking female character toys for its lines for boys, so it's not limited to Transformers.

But now I am wondering if I shouldnt have gotten the case for Blackwing.i am not interested in Moonracer, and could go either way on Abominus, am I better off trying to sell those when I get mine in (at the same time as everyone else) or am I gonna get stuck with two figures I am meh on and lose out some bucks?

william-james88 wrote:Is that cheaper? Shipping must be a real pain. Plus with BBTS for wave two, they dont let you buy figures individually, you have to buy the whole case of deluxes (and end up with doubles).

Plus, you can buy Snarl from amiami for the same price as BBTS and I am certain shipping within japan from amiami is cheaper than shipping from the US

amiami http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail ... agecnt%3D1

bbts: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/V ... ails/68771

For the bolded part, are you talking Hasbro or Takara Power of the Primes? 'Cause I just looked and it appears only singles of Takara are available (with many sold out), and on the Hasbro side, you can still just preorder Wave 2 sets, no duplicates, of all of the size classes including deluxes, with a few individual ones available (like Rodimus Unicronus). Or was the comment in reference to something else? Image

[Edit] Link to PotP Wave 2: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/68755

I am talking about Hasbro only. Because since the guy asking a question is in Japan, I wouldnt think he would buy Takara figures from BBTS and have them ship to Japan.

Hence why all of these questions confuses the **** out of me. They are the same toys. So if you are in the US, buy the Hasbro release from a US retailer. And if you are in Japan, buy the takara release from a Japanese retailer. I have no clue why anything else would be considered.

Also, this is the Legends thread. So, let this be the end of the POTP discussion here. If anyone wants to continue it or respond, then simply quote this and copy paste it in the POTP thread.

You're right there. Just to clarify, I wanted to know if it was the same price or cheaper to import the (identical) US POTP figures to Japan, or buy the (identical) Japanese POP (Power of Primes) in Japan. Usually, Japanese TFs are a little more expensive than US ones.

Ironically, if all these new toys are identical, maybe there won't be a need for two threads!? ;)

Yes, but the upcoming new line isn't called "Legends", it's called "Power of (the) Primes".

Screenshot_20180207-090759.jpg

I'm not requesting a new thread, just pointing out that the figures MIGHT be the same and the name MIGHT be similar, so who knows about what happens to the threads? No problem either way, though.

I just ordered Takara's Snarl and Grimlock from Amazon Japan. I could have SWORN that I already ordered the full wave prior to this. Were those two waves released after the likes of swoop and Darkwing, etc?

While that does make sense, it would have been easy enough to simply repack Grimlock in with Elita One, as two Dinobots are in this wave as well, and it would have given Moonracer another slot in the case- not to mention that Grimlock is much more popular than all the revealed Voyagers save maybe Starscream. Then Hun-Grrr could have been released as one or both the Voyagers in Wave 3, with all the Terrorcons. Combiner Wars managed to do it with the Protectobots and Combaticons, I don't see why a simple reshuffling of Voyagers and Deluxes between Waves 2 and 3 couldn't have taken place. It would have made for much more balanced distribution.

There is also that snippet from ACD Distributor that Repugnus may be coming as an exclusive alongside Shuttle Blast Off. If he is, in fact, a retool of Rippersnapper, they would want the mold out there before the exclusive comes out. That is the only thing that makes sense to me for making wave 2 so weird.

On that note, didn't they (Hasbro) decide early on in the CW releases that releasing the teams separately was a mistake, and they needed to keep them together (which was why the Protectobots, 84-bots, Combaticons, and Sky Reign all released together). I am curious why that decision has been changed/reversed. Seems to me as though Wave 1 could have been Grimlock, Starscream, and the Dinobots. Wave 2 could have been Elita-1 Jazz, Moonracer, Dreadwind, Blackwing. Wave 3 Terrorcons. Wave 4 Inferno, Novastar and some repacks.

Just seems weird to me that they are trying to make the same mistake as before.

Thats when you realize that Hasbro is just a name we give to whoever is running the show at the time. The person who said that was Jerry Jivoin, who was in charge of the TF Brand and who fully meant that. However, he is now in charge of all marketting of Hasbro Italy and Ben Montano replaced him and clearly does not think the same way as his predecessor.

So there you go, thats why things changed.

Shows how much I pay attention to the regime changes.

Man, I wish TAK-BRO would have adhered more to the concept. Having the Matrix mount inside of Hot-Rod's hood vs. the back of the Rodimus shell would have made the toy more G1-esque ;)^ ...Of course, what does it matter since he's destined to become Rodimus Unicronus anyway  I think I would have been happier if they just released the latter w/2 versions of Hot-rod;(good/bad.) :BANG_HEAD: BTW @ Rodimus:

I want my Red Swoop, dammit!
If they'll do a box set for Volcanicus with G2 Grimmy, Slag and Snarl they might include toy version Swoop with the red torso and visored head instead of a made up new G2 version of him.

See the following link regarding your red Swoop: http://comic-cons.xyz/transformers-powe ... -dinobots/ :KREMZEEK: . Just remember, the original G1 Dinobot Team was released in red only because it was a DiaClone re-use, the cartoon and subsequent toy releases-even the 2nd run G1 release- all favoured the blue Swoop.

Do we know when wave 3 is scheduled for release?

I'm wondering if :HASBRO: is spreading this line out over 2 years so they can add revision stock for the holiday season without negatively effecting the release of wave 4, unless wave 4 is loaded with the rest of the Terrorcons and is scheduled for release in time for the holidays?

I don't know. It's just such a huge wait between the wave 1 initial release in December (with saturation occurring now) and wave 2 (April) which will take time to saturate as well before wave 3 can (should?) be released? I know this goes against the usual quarterly seasonal wave releases but maybe the person in charge right now is learning from the lost TR wave 5 and doesn't want that to happen again?

Or am I being too optimistic?

Blue Swoop was a Diaclone and his animation model was based on the Diaclone. All the Dinobots were released in red. There was never a blue version of the toy in G1.

Well the release of waves is about the same seasonally/quarterly as the last several lines. Distribution is still a problem, but its hard to point at whos to blame. A new line does well, its just that will all of wave 1 sell out, and then a bunch more get ordered before wave 2, and that's where we start to see problems, or will the selling/saturation match the release of new product as intended?

To be fair, it was only the deluxes in wave 5 that were "lost", and that was basically only the majority of the US (My area included), but some sparse areas did get them, as well as Canada and some international markets. Not sure why wave 5 TR deluxes were never offered on HTS or TRU (especially with Windblade, Hasbro's *fanmade* meal ticket they want to shove-down-your-throat as much as possible), but yeah, I'm not sure what the solution is for poor distribution, but staying on top of the line from day 1, lets just all keep our eyes on what's selling, what's not, and what stores are seemingly ordering too much of.

I just know that TR deluxe wave 4 repack killed sales in my area at most stores. If they weren't moving for the holidays, you know there's a problem. Much of it has been clearanced out, but at least a couple stores in my area still have a bunch, as well as wave 5 repack Voyagers.
