I'm still on the fence about Hot Shot. Especially since he's never been on the show...

Also, yes, Knock Out looks so much better here, I'm just still sad there's no gold on him!

The only reason I might not get Hot Shot is that he is not in the show. I'm not the biggest fan of the Unicron Trilogy, and so the homage to Cybertron/Armada Hot Shot just doesn't do anything for me.

Apnea wrote:Well, I couldn't get FE Cliff, so I might consider RID, I mean he doesn't look horrible, just not as good. If Bee is a solid figure, I'm definitely getting Hot Shot. I've never been the kind of collector to not get someone because they aren't in the show, I go for what molds interest me, and I did LIKE Bee's, just not as Bee. they put a little too much automorph into him and it made him look a bit clunky. Hot Shot looks better though, for some reason. Might be the paint job.
Yeah, his automorph reavealer gimmick is a bit more excessive than the others, but he is not a bad figure. He satisfies the role, and doesn't make me feel like I need to hunt down the FE version.
Cliffjumper on the other hand, I don't know, I just feel like it is the weakest figure I bought in a long time. Underwhelming transformation and bot mode. Vehicle mode looks great though.

Seeing as how I DO have the FE Bumblebee, and he is quite a great figure, I'll just settle for Hot Shot. I'm guessing they may have slightly changed the gimmick to maybe be a bit more sturdy straight out, but even if they didn't, hell, he has movable goggles. I never got HFTD Highbrow, and now my heart aches for goggles.

Apnea wrote:Well I might not get him then. I'm not itching to, and as I said before, my stores here are overflowing with them anyway. At Walmart AND Target, there are about two Bees and like 10 CJs. It's redonkulous.

I forgot about Highbrow.... Never even saw him in stores, and I really wanted him too.

hot shot looks like a better version of that mold than bumblebee does; i also cant wait until someone gets their hands on the instructions for knockout so we know what his proper transformation is
When are these coming out?

He is actually (which surprised me once I got him) and very solid figure. Better than Cliffjumper.
I had the figure for about a day before I broke it trying to fix the head and shoulders. They didn't go back far enough and it looked like the transformation was unfinished. That and the guns never really attached well, literally a case of a round peg in a square hole. I don't miss it though, I got FE BB and it's much better.

Surprised that PRID Vehicon is actually an improvement from his FE version. Will be picking this one up.
Soundwave is a must-buy as well.

Sound like you tried to force the shoulder back further then they ever were meant to go. The head, on the other hand, if you have watched Peaugh's video review, can be moved independently from the gear so it sits appropriately in robot mode (and really doesn't cause it to sit to high in vehicle mode).

I saw that, but the shoulders bothered me the most and I thought fixing them would take care of the head too. I didn't try to force it back, I tried trimming the parts that I thought were stopping it. The tab that attaches the front of the car to his torso and those little nubs that hold the arm mechanism in place. Apparently there's more going on inside that I couldn't get to because they decided to glue it shut. So all I accomplished was removing the parts that held it together.

If they come out in Holland that is, otherwise it will be 3 times the price from ebay :s

I read somewhere that it should be end of March.
Hang on, let me find the link..
Ok, the Forbidden Planet website says between 20th and 30th April, for all retailers.

It was the aesthetic that bothered me. They're low and angled forward in a cowardly submissive posture.
I think this picture says it all.

Vehicon looks much better than the old one but still a pass since there's barely any purple on him in vehicle mode.
Knockout...I might actually buy him once I see a full review of him and his transformation sequence. What I really wanna know is the chest pegged in like Voyager Megs or not like Deluxe Megs cause main reason I hate Deluxe Megs is that the chest cant be pegged -.-...

Thank Haruhi that it is at least recolored blue .
"Haruhi" as in Haruhi Suzumiya? I don't think she had anything to do w/ Hot Shot's design.

Knockout's paintjob is disappointing, I wish they had given him his gold/yellow rims, and his shins look really plain in bot mode, but I like the character and the mold so I will buy it. Maybe Reprolabels can make it better.
Hot Shot looks a lot better than Bumblebee but he was never one of my favorite characters so I'll probably pass.

Did Hasbro finally get that enough Bumblebees is enough?
Yeah, Hot Shot is a retool/rapaint of the Bumblebee mold, but you perfectly know what I mean.

Vehicon is simply the coolest figure in the prime line to date and the only one who looks better than the FE.
Posted by grimdragon2001 on March 31st, 2012 @ 9:11am CDT
got Arcee and while she needs some "brush love" she is a vast improvment over the FE version
