Double reference! Not just to that movie, but the fact that Unicron represents a third allegiance that is neither Autobot nor Decepticon.MR Optimus Prime wrote:HA! Close Encounters Of The Third Kind !!!

But that wasn't in the cartoon. And that was also a special case.Megatronsdemise666 wrote:griftimus prime wrote:he is smaller than a city transformer. this is stupid.

Am I the only one, while watching the first part of the finale, that kinda hoped that it was Optimus who would be the one to be the rising darkness? It seemed perfect for it, until Megatron turned the tables in the battle. Would have been an interesting twist.
And possibility D) Jack - Well, not a dead-gone way dead, I mean it could be like Sam Witwicky in ROTF: he gets killed and is awaken back alive by some Unicrons opposite or the Covenant of Primus, in order to earn something that would help killing The God of Destruction.
Was my thought too. Everyone here keeps repeating that Optimus Prime always dies... Well the first line of any significance, in fact the whole point of the first scene, in "One Shall Fall" is Ratchet comparing Jack to Optimus. Foreshadow much?
Also today's teaser image shows the bots reacting to something bad IN the base, and not on the screen of the com unit.
Pure speculation here butcould Unicron take a human host? And what would Jack do to prevent the chaos bringer from manifesting...?

I have to seriously ask, why would Unicron possess Jack? To infiltrate the Autobots perhaps? That could make sense I guess. But I honestly think that he wouldn't bother inhabiting a puny fleshling. I mean, they're kind of soft, squishy, and weak. The exact opposite of Unicron. Especially when he has a much larger, more durable and intimidating body to use anyway. Unless they're going to make Unicron a cunning strategist who borrows Jack's body for a short while to do something that doesn't consist of killing, smashing or eating, I have difficulty seeing that happening.
But then again, I'd like to see a more strategic side of Unicron myself, if only because it would make for some degree of character development. I've always liked the idea of the character myself. He has a good background, (even though it's full of plotholes) a neat character design, cool toys... and is flatter than a squirrel run over by a monster truck. I don't expect (or really want) him to be a relatable character of course, or even deep, considering he's meant to be an embodiment of chaos and yada yada, but I wouldn't mind a little more substance, you know?

This wasn't part 1. This was more like "part 0", being a sort of prelude for the finale.Lord Onixprime wrote:Am I the only one, while watching the first part of the finale, that kinda hoped that it was Optimus who would be the one to be the rising darkness? When Earth becomes plagued by natural disasters, the Autobots come to the horrible realization that Dark Energon is the source of the bizarre events.
Don't forget to tune into the Hub this Saturday at Sat, Oct 1 at 8:30 PM EDT for part one of the exciting three part season finale, "One Shall Rise".

Ha ha, someone's gonna get mad about this, but, then it would be like when Harry is possessed by Voldemort in the fight against Dumbledore at the end of... book 5, was it? He possesses him because he knows Dumbledore wouldn't want to hurt him. Tadaaa!~ XD
edit: oh yes, and -the figure on the left- looks like a plant in that image. Aw-kward! lol
