Beginning on Amazon's Prime Day this year, Nemesis Prime became the first of the retail giant's exclusive Transformers: Prime Wars Trilogy figures to begin shipping. Some lucky people even got the Leader Class figure before Prime Day. While the Deluxe Class figures have sporadically shown up to preorder, the actual delivery dates have been up in the air for Blast Off, while Repugnus and Punch-Counterpunch previously got release dates of August 3rd and September 19th, respectively
Well, thanks to Seibertron.com fan Marcelo, and yours truly, we now have confirmation that any Blast Off figures that were able to be ordered will be shipping as early as next week. Currently, only Nemesis Prime is in stock, though you must be an Amazon Prime member to purchase him. Additionally, Repugnus and Punch-Counterpunch are available for preorder; there's no word on when/if Blast Off will be available to order again.
Check out the photos below, and click on any of them to be taken to that figure's order page, and let us know if you received a shipping notice for any of these exclusives.

LoL I didn't think it was news. Also I may dabble in another transformers forum and there has been non-stop chatter about when people's blastoff are arriving. I was getting a little tired of it. But then again, I may have contributed to that conversation

Doesnt suck as much as him and the two other Prime Wars toys still not being available to order on Amazon.ca
At least you guys are getting him.

Yeah, there's no sign on the UK site of any of them either.

But we were able to order them of the main Amazon site. Just received an update e-mail that my Blast-off will ship soon. Expected to arrive August 8-14.
I'd perfer to have just ordered from .ca, but due to the lower production numbers they would likely get crappy stickers slapped on the boxes to include French for Quebec.

Not interested in paying shipping plus import fees. The same toys are listed on .ca, they should stock them there too.

Seibertron wrote:mordhelm wrote:A LOT went wrong for Hasbro (and Transformers) in the last year. TRU going under tanked sales significantly. And TLK was a failure compared to the preceding movies. My guess is the TLK toyline also suffered. And I hear the comics aren't doing fantastic, revenue-wise (though I bet better than most comics these days).
From what I'm aware, Transformers has done very well in the past year, with the exception of the Last Knight movie. Even the toys sold well, but that's because it was a very scaled back toy line.
I've heard similar things about the comics, but Transformers comics have never been big sellers, not since 2002's Dreamwave Transformers #1.mordhelm wrote:Unfortunately these things happen when corporations do something drastic to "right the ship".
To the bean counters, what characters sell? The original Autobots and some of the Decepticons.
This is really just the fallout of a tough year for Transformers.
War for Cybertron was in the works long before the failures of last year. In the absence of a working crystal ball, these decisions were all under way long before 2017 happened.mordhelm wrote:I am with you though, quite disappointed about several missing characters from G1. However, I think they are coming. Warden seems interesting in completing the G1 line. So I think Pretender Monsters, Seacons, Horrorcons, Targetmasters, are all coming. Heck, they may special release the remaining Pretender shells at some point too.
There are different ways to bring out the "missing characters" without doing it in the way in which we think it should be done. Who knows where and when other characters will show up. Hasbro knows what they're doing. I have great faith in their plans, though I have waited very patiently for the 84 and 85 characters to finally get finished up like Cliffjumper, a proper Huffer, the Deluxe Insecticons, Astrotain done right, Reflector, Hoist and Trailbreaker done right, and so on. Hopefully we'll get those gaps filled in soon!mordhelm wrote:Let's all not forget that there is one more show (NYCC) this year. I believe NYCC was when Grotusque was revealed and put up for sale. I think we have one more surprise coming for NYCC.
Not to mention other shows around the world which may give Hasbro other opportunities to unveil other new products. They haven't really done that in the past but considering the onslaught of new products unveiled at SDCC last week, I have great hopes that there is more just waiting right around the corner.
It was also my understanding, that Hasbro decided to start brand changing every 18 months, to every 12 months so that B&M would order new product, instead of skipping the last couple waves because of ordering too much of earlier ones. I just think most (including myself) thought this would occur after PotP, not during it, since we saw some *clues* at perhaps other proposed releases. Think about it. The original line lasted 8 years (though the concepts changed dramatically) BW lasted 3 years, BM & RID roughly 2 years, and every mainline since has lasted 2 years. Even sub-lines like Universe, and each iteration of Generatons lasted about 2 years. But T30, CW, & TR were 18 months, now we are down to one year.
So while this keeps product fresh on the shelves, this forces and to come up with basically a whole new concept every year. Of course we see some recycling of ideas, and that's not a bad thing, but I'm just not sure how long it will last. I mean MOTU has a great thing going with their collector based series, but I'd kind of hate for Generations to go that route.
Advantages: having guaranteed release dates, and knowing in advance what's coming
Disadvantages: high cost, short supply, and no B&M option, scalpers galore....

I've also preordered Repugnus and P/CP already. Repugnus comes out on August 1st, and will be received by me on the 3rd, and P/CP comes out on September 15th, and will arrive at my house while I'm away at school on the 18th.
Those in-hand pics of Repugnus look great though, I like his head better now.

Sometimes I post in the forums, things I think are no big deal, and they actually end up as news...go figure. The point is, the folks here all seem to be pretty decent, and care about what they are doing. I know I fly off the handle sometimes, I'm not perfect either, but my anger usually goes towards the toy industry, lackluster animation , or comics, NOT the fans themselves. Just keep on truckin', and enjoy your Blastoff that you got before several others.

Oh, I'm not angry or anything, and I apologize if it came off that way. I just wanted to make sure my voice was heard. I appreciate your response though, you sir are a gentleman and a scholar.
Back on-topic, assuming discussion of Blast Off goes here and not on the CW thread, I love this figure. Am I probably biased, since the Combaticons are my favorite combiner team since playing FoC? Yeah, I probably am. But in spite of that, this is easily one of my favorite combiner-compatible Deluxes I own. He's fun to pose, I'm still surprised by how good his colors look, specifically how glossy this black is, I love how his gun forms his landing gear, and his limb mode is nice and solid. I'm so glad Hasbro actually brought this mold over, and that I got one before it sold out over the course of an hour.

That block between the legs is stupid. If they were going to leave it there, leave the tail ends too and just give his beast mode a tail like the other two Monsters have.

Fair point, I did not do that. I'm not really concerned about who gets the credit though, I'm glad the information is out there regardless of who it's attributed to. I just felt in the moment reading that news that my posts were being ignored, and wanted to let people know my opinions on Blast Off if they wanted to hear them.
Legitimate question: how much Wave 3 has anyone actually seen in stores so far? All I've seen are PMs, Deluxes, and Infernos, and the Deluxes I actually wanted sold out before I saw them and were replaced with Wave 2 repacks. It feels like this Wave isn't really out yet due to all this distribution nonsense, or at least it does to me.

Repugnus is some kind of arthropod creature (insect, crustation, etc.), so that block is his abdomen. His "bug booty" if you will. It's anatomically accurate to his beast mode.

I can sort of see that. Still, they should've remolded it so it looks a little more deliberate. As it is, it just looks like they didn't know what to do with the boots.
Keeping the tail bits would've given it a little more legitimacy. Even better if they could've retooled the tail parts to form some kind of bug stinger.

That's how I look at it, too. It isn't G1 accurate, but I'm fine with it as an update to his design and it reminds me of the Universe version.

Also shown is the original Titans Return Titan Master Repugnus, which can take the place of the slightly more dull with smaller eyes head that the new deluxe comes with. He also includes 2 brand new green energy blades which, in true Titans Return style, can combine to form a double energy blade of murder justice with a seat for a Titan/Prime Master.
We also include a comparison sheet between the deluxe Repugnus and past cartoon and toy incarnations, courtesy of Cyberpath.
Check out the images below, and you can head on over to Amazon.com to pre-order him now!

Exactly.
Simply having the outer parts of the upper lower robot legs hinge so the two sides could snap together in monster form to make a tail or stinger would have made all the difference. Or at the very least use a weapon/s to form a tail or stinger in monster mode.

If I may be so bold, as a simple lackey: I think the reason yours got passed over was in fact because you grabbed him so early. You got the "first run" so to speak, and since most people had to wait for a restock this story was about that second set of Blast Offs shipping out, if that makes sense
Also, you can potentially get news noticed just by posting on the boards! It just depends on whether we see it or not, which can be a bit of a gamble, so your best bet is to directly send in anything that might be newsworthy. That aside, enjoy your Blast Off; I can't wait to get mine, for much the same reasons as you!

Believe it or not, the face is supposed to look that bland because it's trying to evoke the similarly bland face of the original toy.WreckerJack wrote:Those swords are cool as heck but the lack of detail on his face is kinda sad. If they can paint Furos's face on his titan master in robot mode they can paint some eyes on this fella... c'mon now hasbro. Don't make me get a toothpick and some paint to do it myself. (Maybe that's how they get you to buy the titan master head separate to swap in?)
The more detailed head we got in Titans Return and Legends is based more directly on the head design that Repugnus had in the 1980s G1 fiction (the Marvel Comics, the Headmasters cartoon from Japan, the toy commercial animation, etc.).
