Transformers Prime's Vince Toyama Shares Background Designs

This next rendering is the Autobot base design. My Toyama says:
A very complex set that turned out really well. I was hoping that Hasbro would make a toy playset out of this...

Vince Toyama:
I design environments for TV animation. You'll probably notice that my artwork tends to reflect a very architectural approach. That's because I studied architecture in the stone age when T-squares and lead pencils were the tools of the trade. That didn't exactly work out for me, but I've managed to translate those architectural skills into animation background design. And in the world of action adventure cartoons, having a believable world to stage your next showdown is a good thing.
Mr. Toyama does not boast that his environmental designs on Transformers Prime won him a Daytime Emmy, which they did. But he does say he is very proud of the results the animation team has gotten with Transformers Prime and recommends to people who have nit seen it yet, to watch in High Definition.
