The order period for the TFSS 4.0 will begin in August and will cover two pay periods to help those wanting to pay in full upfront. Of course if you do need to spread your payments out rather than pay in one lump sum, there is, as always, the 3 payment installment plan as well. The TCC expect to start taking orders for the TFSS 4.0 starting around the middle of the month.
Stay tuned for additional information on all six TFSS 4.0 figures - Bludgeon, Ruckus, Windsweeper, Spinister, Needlenose and Impactor.
And remember, anyone who completes the subscription will receive a FREE Bonus 7th Deluxe Class Combiner Wars figure!

Yeah I know, but there have been cases when hasbro makes figures of the characters after the club does. I mean off the top of my head there was scourge, and Kup, Breakdown (G1/G2) and Sky-Byte. Rumor says there's going to be a new Rewind and eject, and I know it doesn't really count seeing as Takara Tomy is making her for a different market, but there is legends Slipstream.

Much later, yeah. Meaning that if Hasbro's ever gonna do a new-mold Impactor figure, it won't be for a good while, letting the Club give us this one now instead of later.SW's SilverHammer wrote:Sabrblade wrote:That this thing exists is a pretty strong indicator that Hasbro has no plans to make a unique-mold Impactor anytime soon.SW's SilverHammer wrote:That being said, like a good 25% of the figures they put out, Impactor kinda deserves his own mold.

"Any time soon" meaning within the next year or two. Scourge and Kup have the shortest time between their BotCon and main retail releases: over 1 year.

Look, the point is, it's happened, and it's not completely out of the realm of probability for hasbro to make another impactor down the road, that was my point. I feel this is a serviceable toy that looks like a version of an impactor, but if i want a impactor, i'll just buy the MMC Spartan; if that makes sense. In fact, a better analogy, This impactor feels like Combiner wars Prime, a perfectly serviceable version of some depiction of the character.

Indeed, as the Club figure are merely (rather expensive) retools, they're merely fancy placeholders for some characters, depending. For others, they're well, the only figures available. Hard to gauge what characters Hasbro will do...
Also odd: usually it's Club figure first, then main retail, but now the opposite has happened, fiction notwithstanding (FOC vs. Wings?).

I think the club has the ability to do really good stand alone figures, DoFP, Stunticon Job, Machine Wars, TFSS Scourge, G2 redux, ultra mammoth. But when it comes to certain characters, Slipstream, Rewind, Chromedome, Eject, Nova prime, mostly IDW, they aren't very good place holders because those character deserve so much more in the way of toys whether that be a new mold depicts that character more accurately, or more new tooling to do so. Even if the way the club justifies it is that they are an "alternate universe version" of the character that's why they look different, it dosen't work for me. Just imagine if the club made a "(not) IDW" Brainstorm in the same vain as Chromedome, it's clearly meant to fill in on your lost light motley crew but it isn't a very good depiction of brainstorm, the character deserves something more.

I mean, that for some characters the Club releases a figure first before Hasbro does. Like:
Ironhide & Ratchet: 2006 vs. 2008
Seekers: 2007 vs. 2010
Jazz: 2008 vs. 2010
Scourge: 2009 vs. 2010
... but Impactor has the reverse: Hasbro first (2013) and now the Club (2016).

I don't know what you're talking about. TFSS Slipstream is one of the best figures they've ever done, as far as I'm concerned.

Cannonball 2006

I Find it to be almost insulting. Link, In fact I have so many diatribes about that figure I can't remember where they all are but basic points.
A. Slipstream is unique enough as a character, and as a woman to have her own mold, or at least have a mold meant for a female character.
B. TFP Starscream is a dandy.
C. TFP Starscream is built femininely, but that doesn't necessarily translate into femininity.
D. that new headsculpt is atrocious.

Bludgeon I can see since his RotF Figure can be repurposed as G1. Still, the Club figure takes a different approach: going for the inner robot instead of the shell.
Tarantulus... I should discount "Beast Wars as vehicles", hallmarks of Dawn of Future's Past and Uprising.
Cannonball is a good one, in that vein, BotCon 2012 Treadshot vs. Armada Side Swipe. They both feel more like homages though... but they still count.
Looking over my personal lists again, Eject/Rewind and Impactor are the only ones that have had a Hasbro release in some form before the Club and are similarly styled (if you consider FOC G1-styled).
Posted by Flashwave on July 21st, 2015 @ 5:47pm CDT
I was never thrilled about Bludgeon, although a final image will be better than the rendered one. Ruckus just needed a better figure. Swindle I think woulda worked and been closer to "dune buggy". But I liked Windsweeper, Spinister, and the other dude could be good combiner kibble for Bruticus and not be out of place with Combaticons.
But Impactor? So worth it. And 4 figures is worth the price of admission compared to resale market prices.
Posted by ScottyP on July 21st, 2015 @ 5:59pm CDT
That's right. It's the important information everyone should know about how super serious and high stakes these boards really are.
Are you ready? I am.
Warning: Seibertron contains nuts!
I also realized a Guzzle would be pretty excellent now as a companion piece for this Impactor. The Legends Megatron/Warpath mold, while not ideal, would be a neat way to go. Who knows how long it'll be until there's another solid Legends tank mold around.

Wtf happened ? Am I the only one who noticed the tailfins were purposely missassembled reverse to hide that the tampos printed upside down ? The end result is the tailfins point downward in jet mode when pegged into their proper peg holes and look ugly as hell. You probally wont notice this unless you own botcon thrust and know how the tailfins are supposed to be. Where is the outrage ? I remember when SG Drift had mismatched guns this site gave the club hell. Why has nobody reported this in hopes of the club making things right or giving us some kind of a credit ? You cant fix the issue without breaking the glue that holds the leg halves together. And if you choose to go that route, the tailfin tampos will be upside down after you switch them up. F**k it, Im calling for a credit but I cant do it alone. Anyone got my back ?
It was reported, I remember linking to it from the front page and seeing a bunch of pics about the rampant qc issues.

I believe John Warden has said as much publicly. I also believe he went on to say that for creative reasons, it was decided that a new character would make a better Stunticon than Ruckus.
Of course that then opened up the opportunity for the Club to pick up Ruckus from the concept pile.

I'd imagine if they replaced the hydraulic claw with a harpoon or drill, it would quiet a lot of the complaints. Alas, FunPub can only do very limited retooling.
Oh, and if you add Impactor and Mystery Figure (assuming it's a combiner, but that's not an unreasonable assumption) to Brake-Neck and Quickslinger, you have a full spare set of limbs. Likely suitable to stick on Galvatronus.

It baffles me why they don't do more to hide it.
I understand it's unpaintable, but it's made of two distinct parts - why not make them different colours? By making the chest and abdomen different colours, the outline of the peg is broken up entirely.
I appreciate Hasbro can't do this at this stage in the game - the tops and bottoms of the pegs are on the same mold. But the club are making these - they have known and identical quantities of the different figures. They could swap the bottoms of one peg with another, improving both figures at a stroke.

I was holding off on the answer for a little bit, hoping that it would develop into another "soon", but really it is just a bit early to give an exact time frame for when pre-orders will go up. Next month is the hope, however.
Price should be comparable to TFSS 3.0. More specific pricing information will be available shortly.
