Tyrannacon wrote:Two things going on in the world of the Transformers Universe: Bumblebee film here, the first is that MercuryNews goes over the history of the filming in Santa Cruz and the subsequent renaming to "Brighton Falls" for the Bumblebee production itself. The article speaks of how filming in Santa Cruz is important for the local economy too. It's worth a read through for those interested in film and the impact on a local economy with it. Here is a little blurb about that fact:“Having movies filmed in Santa Cruz is great for the overall local economy. We do not know if that means the film will begin in current times and be told as an older tale or if we will hear the voice through narration or even if Peter Cullen will be voicing Optimus Prime at all, though it is what everyone would assume.

They don't even need to show him it could probably be just his voice like the narrations from the first few films.

Yes, but the point here is not a "it's not like muh G1" general statement, it's saying that Movie Ironhide not sounding like G1 Ironhide is evidence against Peter Cullen voicing Movie Ironhide like G1 Ironhide.

Unless that one art piece in TLK retcons Ironhide as having been on Earth in the 19th Century.Quantum Surge wrote:I doubt that Cullen would voice Ironhide since we have Jess Harnell for that and the big guy doesn't land on Earth until 2007.

Maybe people got used to him to voice Optimus, but the fact that Peter Cullen still returns to the role should not be taken for granted.

It was a separate piece, yes. It was the button for the car's horn.Quantum Surge wrote:Funny seeing that again, when I saw the first TF film as a wee little boy, I always thought that pressing the Autobot insignia would cause Bumblebee to transform. Maybe it was because it looked like a separate piece when Sam lightly pressed it.

I've never been offended by the messy "trash robot" look, but giving Bumblebee some horns or placing some lights on his feet would not be bad at all.
Bumblebee has some form of horns actually. They're small and subtle.

This

While a few throwbacks in hte design would be nice,I dont think they have to all the way and give us a robot with the G1 proportions.

EXCLUSIVE: Actor John Ortiz has landed two roles. He’ll first join Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena in Paramount’s Bumblebee, the first spinoff of the Transformers franchise. The pic, which will bow in theaters Dec. 21, 2018, has Travis Knight directing from a script by Christina Hodson.
It’s set in 1987, where Bumblebee, who is refuged in a junkyard, is discovered and revived by Charlie (Steinfeld) who, on the cusp of turning 18, is trying to find her place in the world. Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, Michael Bay, and Steven Spielberg are producing with Hasbro’s Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis.

Speaking of which, this wrap up party gives us our very first look at Bumblebee's face in the film which shows differences from the other iterations we have seen. It was shown in the title card which shows the logo and also finally announces the actual name of the film, Bumblebee: The Movie. As said, the face on the title card is similar to what we would expect from a Bumblebee face but the head crest is significantly different from before, with a shape mimicking the front of a Volkswagen Beetle, the alt mode Bumblebee will have in the film.
The logo was then reposted on twitter through various users. You can check out the title card below, enjoy!

It's still the Bayformers universe, so there really no reason to expect anything more than a new flavor of explosion porn.
Second verse, same as the first.

I'm interested to see where this one goes. TLK was definitely a let down the more I watched it and thought on it, but I'm hopeful maybe this movie can help pull it back

While perhaps the most notable snippet from the piece, which you can read in full here, is a hint at this being a whole new franchise (read: series of movies, probably trilogy), there are some interesting nuggets throughout about both Steinfeld and director Travis Knight, some of which are copied below!
“It's very character-driven and storyline-driven, which is good. I think will be interesting to see it play out because you still get the action and the Transformers themselves. There's a whole lot in it for the Transformers fans that I think they'll love, but it's definitely about storyline and characters.”
[...]
“It was definitely a process. With his background in animation, he was able to see, visually, a final product. It was nice to have somebody that could verbally translate what that was. But it was difficult. It was hard, I think, for both of us to sort of maneuver,” she explained. “Not only was this something completely new to me but it was something completely new to him and a different, you know, a different way. It was definitely a work in progress but I think we got a good thing going and hopefully, we'll see what happens.”
