Up first we have a deluxe class that includes a very varied collection of bots, which includes Arcee and Smokescreen as standard bots, Airwave as the 2nd Micromaster base to be given a robot mode and named a Modulator, the first ever Alicon figure, and Fasttrack as a weaponizer/modulator type bot for Scorponok.
In the voyager class size, we have a new Earth mode Megatron who is a retool of his Siege self with new parts to resemble an Earth tank. We also have a Quintesson toy that turns into a base/prison mode complete with a cage large enough to hold Micromasters. Finally, we have Snapdragon, who finally complete our G1 Headmasters set from The Rebirth.
The larger classes include Leader class Doubledealer, who has all 3 of his original modes plus new base-compatible pieces to join up with the growing number of base/city bots. His powermasters will be sold in the Selects line as the Soundwave Spy Patrol Part 3. We also have a glorious Commander class Sky Lynx, and the Titan class Scorponok with Lord Zarak himself.

The silver paint on ER-Megatron looks nice.
The figure is very similar to Siege overall but I think I prefer the detailing on this one -- closer to the cartoon. But again with the tank. I hope you can fake a decent gun-mode.
Smokescreen looks better than the Siege version, too. Both the deco and mold, like the MP.
Allicon actually has a tail, that's good.
How long till figures usually go on sale?

Sad but true, the rumours even said it would be his G1 self.

unfortunately for you i throw the term around willy nilly and aren't actually a stickler for accurate car forms and just wished for a mold that was more accurate than the cw mold and not crap like the classics (or was it universe?) mold
also i agree that there was no hope for prime smokescreen at all. if we see any homages at all to prime i will be surprised

I don't think the the Universe mold was crap, but the legs sure as hell aren't G1-accurate.Rainmaker wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Except that you can't really count ER Smokescreen as a "Proper Earth Datsun" per se, because he actually looks less Datsun-like than the SIEGE mold. I nitpicked the Datsun name use b/c I'm something of a fan of Datsuns and I like the aesthetics of the Autobot cars' '80s altmodes better than I do those of the Classics and Universe modernizations.

Liking what's here for Earthrise. If it's gotta be G1, at least there's extremely little 84/85 here. Quintesson looks fun and I'm glad they just went with a base mode instead of trying to do too much. Hopefully the Alicon can "lay down", maybe it can and I missed that in the pictures.
Really dig the little snake ramp dude. Reminds me a bit of that Headrobots kit from forever ago.
The Siege repaints do nothing for me but it's smart to get those out for when the show's on. That Mirage redeco gives me Rescue Bots Morbot vibes, at least in the alt mode.

Arcee is just mediocre. The "hoverboard" is pretty feeble and gives her a gigantic backpack if left on, also the rear of her, uh, rear is unpainted, making her look like she's wearing backless panties gone wrong.
Doubledealer looks kinda gaff too, the robot mode has some weird proportions and the vehicle mode is a bit shonky. The bird mode is awful but that's to be expected from Doubledealer.
The Alicon, YIKES. That looks bad. His arms really should have pulled a POTP Terrorcon and been reused for beast mode with the hands flipped around for claws, rather than...whatever the hell they went with there. On the plus side, he did give me and a friend a laugh; we've decided he is Blot's processor-challenged little brother, Plop. As such I might buy him for a giggle.

I mean, when I think of a classic Import car the Datsun is what usually pops into my mind. And the Siege Smokescreen looks closer to this than the Earthrise Smokescreen. I think it's the bottom grill that makes it look more like a Japanese tuner.I do like how the Earthrise figure has side mounted rearview mirrors.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:I nitpicked the Datsun name use b/c I'm something of a fan of Datsuns and I like the aesthetics of the Autobot cars' '80s altmodes better than I do those of the Classics and Universe modernizations.

The overall silhouette is like the Fairlady's, and the way the shoulder pins are done ends up looking like the signature Datsun headlights.blackeyedprime wrote:If you are a car enthusiast and think the siege smokescreen looks like a datsun or a car... I mean, it has a long front without much of a lower bumper and that rounded hatch-back look. But upon closer inspection I really hope they make Smokescreen and drop the bottom bumper. That thing is huge and sticks out. Get rid of that and the new mold would actually be way more accurate.blackeyedprime wrote:If you are a car enthusiast and think the siege smokescreen looks like a datsun or a car... Egads. While I'm not bothered by ER Megatron and Smokescreen, I would be bothered by another Jazz. We already just got PotP Jazz who was okay and RTS Jazz is already setting a high standard.

If they make the others, the spoiler and the bottom bumper are hopefully Smokescreen-specific. They makes sense on him, but not the others.

It definitely sounded like this is the closest we're getting to the Rocket Base for the immediate future. I'm not sure there's a middle ground between the vintage toy and the Sky Lynx base model.

Hopefully they'll remove them, I can't believe it'd be possible for them not to but it is because CW Smokescreen exists.

Consider this, the actual car whose livery inspired Smokescreen's deco:
It's a lot more accurate than you realize, other than the aero headlights, which are actually seen on some Fairlady racing cars and tuners. It's hard to imagine a more accurate alt mode that isn't officially licensed by Nissan. Now, I don't see them removing the front air dam for the inevitable Prowl and Bluestreak repaints like they should, but even if they didn't I'd say they did an excellent job of capturing the essence of the vehicle.

You're welcome. It's pretty cool what they did with the old Diaclone-based TFs. Jazz and Mirage are also based on real racecars.

I think these are due out in September. Also, be wary of that paint on Megatron, these are usually painted prototypes, I would not take these as the final deco in any instance.

It was brought up by D-Max. I guess that means it's one of the extras found inside.

The preorder listing on Pulse has the dino mode.

As a huge fan of the Titan Master gimmick, confirmation of Titan Master compatibility puts Snapdragon on my list.

Agreed! I was super happy to see them revealed in the live stream. That will complete Doubledealer.
I consider Prime and Getaway sort of complete since they have headmasters named for their powermasters. Dreadwind and Darkwing aren't complete since they don't have their partners. and we still need Joyride and Slapdash

Frankly, I'm hoping for a proper Lightfoot/Getaway in part 3 of the trilogy alongside Joyride and Road King/Slapdash, and maybe a fresh go at Dreadwind (possibly as a CW Mirage reshell rather than an Aerialbot retool).D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Sentinel_Primal wrote:D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Sentinel_Primal wrote:Was anyone able to ask if Knok and Skar have any way to interact with Doubledealer outside of 5mm pegs? Probably, but I don't think they're meant for use in this mode since it's his Autobot mode. In his bird mode the symbols would still be visible from beneath so it makes sense to be able to change them.
One thing that I don't think has been mentioned is that not only does the blue chest portion flip all the way down to over his legs for bird mode, but there's also a pivot point just below it so you can spin it around. I bet you can turn it around and snap it back in place to expose Skar or Knok in his chest (or under the bird) outright, basically making him a Breastmaster. Trying to figure out why he comes with the little gun. Nothing wrong with more weapons, but it's strange when the original didn't have it and they're usually so frugal.
The Allicon is neat, but when I look at it all I can see is this:
Also his descriptions says, "An obedient guard, this Quintesson Allicon converts into beast modes in 14 steps and comes with a spear accessory." Beast modes, plural. Probably a typo but he does have an extra forward tilt joint just above his feet that isn't used for either mode. Maybe he's hiding a third form?
Glad the Judge looks good because I have no intention of changing him into anything else.
I'm so tired of Micromaster cars. Howabout some more jets or something?

He has hinges and flap on top of the symbol. You just flip that hinge up for down to change allegiance
