TRU Cyber Monday Starts Today: Metroplex $77.99 And Free Shipping!

I bought Jetwing Optimus Prime at TRU yesterday, and didn't even know that figure was even coming to America. I always thought it was a Takara exclusive or something. But now, I'm kind of wishing I had saved my money for Metroplex, now that they're having this sale... I can never win.

You made the right choice, trust me. It was a Japanese exclusive for a long time, and then Amazon decided to take a chance on it and import it. It's assumed that their overstock is what led to TRU getting their allotment for this sale. I'd imagine that both stores could end up being horribly overstocked by this guy if he doesn't sell out during this sale, which there are indicators that he just might.

You'll always be able to find Metroplex, you won't always be able to find Jetwing Optimus for $50.00.

Well, Jetwing Optimus was on sale. His regular price was $100. I got him for $50. So... I guess I might have gotten the better deal, but I still really want that Metroplex.

Well, Jetwing Optimus was on sale. His regular price was $100. I got him for $50. So... I guess I might have gotten the better deal, but I still really want that Metroplex.

It'll be a test of will-power but hold out for as long as possible. If you can wait till well after the holidays most stores will start clearing out their stock for the Spring line-up and you can get even better deals than what they have now. Years back I snagged Supreme class Starscream from the Cybertron series for less than half his normal price.

However, it does hurt just a bit seeing the prices as they are now. Looking at the ad I see 4 figures I've purchased within the last month and all of them are at least 3 to 4 dollars cheaper than what I paid for them. At the time I was gambling that they wouldn't be in stock around the holidays and they very well may not be since I only pick up toys in brick and mortar stores and not on-line, but that's my own personal choice and my own problem if I gamble and lose. The rest of you who shop on-line will fare much better than I will on snagging these figures even if you wait a bit.

No kidding. I either buy these guys too early (i.e., at full price) for fear of missing out on them, or I wait too long & miss out on them completely.

Can Generations Metroplex be bought under $80 bucks in the store too? Or is this just online?

once again the only figure i want doesnt have free shipping nor can i use super saver shipping, glad i dont pay for that useless service. But most of those sales arent even good, most have just been brought down to just below normal price. If TRU wasnt the only place to get Alien & Predator figures id never go there.

Blame some stoopid multi-language laws and Hasbro's unwillingness to comply. The Canadian Metroplex only have sound effects. No talking at all.

The thing that enrage me is that there's TONS of English only speaking toys on the shelves and nobody gives a fawk. So, why the hell does Transformers get the shaft alone?

Has anyone heard anything about Metroplex being discontinued already? A friend of mine in California was looking for one in sores and a TRU employee at one store told him their system showed it out of stock and listed it as discontinued. He ended up finding one at another store and let me know what they told him. I hopped online to grab one for the sale price to have it for a future custom repaint, but they were already out of stock online. Basically I just wonder if there is any confirmation Hasbro has already discontinued him, or if it is just that TRU will not be restocking him? Also, considering my past experience with TRU employees, it is possible the TRU employee has no idea what they were talking about and just wanted to make a customer leave them alone

Yeah, that is the same thing I am getting. Every TRU within 100 miles lists it out of stock or not carried. Glad I already have one, but it was tempting to get one for a custom at this price. Oh well, money saved for the next Generations wave

I called two stores in my area and they say it is not in stock. And that they don't carry it in the store anymore. Which is odd! They say Generations Metroplex can be ordered only online to ship to home or store pickup! And that $77.99 is only the sale price online.

I'll be buying Platinum Magnus and maybe Beast Tracker Prime tomorrow off the website and pick him up in store.

EDIT: Well BT Prime is out of the question because store pickup isn't offered for him. Oh well, 35.99 for Platinum UM is good enough.

Does that mean, Metroplex sold out? That should be good news right? Titan class future is assured? Or is it just Hasbro's distribution system sucks?

He doesn't come with batteries, but once you buy a few and install them, he has lights and sounds (like that "Metroplex heeds the call of the last Prime" business).

I just came back from home and was finally ready to buy the thing. Even with no voices and a 100$ price tag. Of course, the sonova is out of stock.

Sigh.

Got Platinum Ultra Magnus today!!! Having the figure in hand, I take back everything bad I said about the mold. I'm glad I got him on sale too. $59.99 is too much for this mold. The $35.99 sale price made it more worth it. And let's face it, this guy is clearly the superior TFP Magnus. The BH voyager can only dream about being this guy.

Now I need to get Wheeljack from Five Below.
