Episode #291 “Til All Are 2021” is available directly and in our RSS Feed, and should appear on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher Radio and many other Podcatcher sites within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.
Here's what we discuss in this episode:
- Our superlatives for 2021 start out with what we thought was objectively the best Transformers toy released in the past year.
- We follow that up with our subjective favorites - those with flaws that we love above most others anyhow.
- We pick through a tiny pile of Transformers TV and comic releases to choose a favorite among those.
- 2020 had an energy all its own that carried through mostly uninterrupted to 2021, so please enjoy our Second Annual Most 2020 Moment of the Year segment.
- Not everything was good, so we give one last jeer to what we thought was the worst Transformers toy of the year and the worst Transformers anything of the year, while answering a listener question along the way.
- Our greatest collecting achievements of the year
- The always fun time of making predictions for the year ahead, featuring our easy-street, layup predictions plus those that are purely in the realm of wishful thinking.
- Bragging Rights take us away as usual

This is the kind of feedback that makes me want to keep doing this, so thank you very much!Otaku-mus Prime wrote:Happy New Year, Twincast podcast cast! Keep up the excellent work, gentlemen and lady! I look forward to each new twincast episode. Sometimes I listen to a single episode twice while I wait for my next fix of the twincast podcast! Only started listening about 2 years ago. I even listened all the way back to episode 99 -- couldn't find any earlier ones. The past predictions and thoughts are entertaining and, at times, spot on! I don't have many collector friends, so twincast acts as a viable substitute for nerding out. Thank you for the hard work and dedication you put into the show.

So, my thoughts:
Objectively, I think the best figure of the year was SS BB Starscream. That figure really did own the tetrajet mode from the movie, the tetrajet heritage it came from, the robot mode was very posable and expressive, it was a nigh perfect toy.
Subjective favorite is the Ark. Iaconus, as I call him, is just so much fun. I love him.
As much as I will continue to disagree on Cyberverse Volcanicus, I do agree the 2 Cyberverse specials were the fictional highlights of the year, hands down. BW and King Grimlock are also good, but I can't rate them proper yet, i need the trades to read in hand as god intended.
Most 2020 moment of the year? I think the fact that Tigatron won figure of the year when he wasn't out yet qualifies, which piles on to the fact that toy reveals are getting worse in the brand. We need to fix the reveal process.
Worst toy of the year? I am torn by Road Rage, Rhinox, and SG Goldbug. 2 of these are BS to transform, the same 2 just aren't fun, and the other used the wrong mold and body type and is a disappointment because of that fact.
Worst anything from the year TF wise? I think the reveal process deteriorating that I mentioned earlier is the winner here.
Collecting achievements? I think my main one is getting the DotM Ultimate Optimus Prime. he is the true MP of movie Prime, and I got him complete, and even got an Axe for him too, to make him totally complete. That was the achievement of the year for me.
Predictions?
Layup = SS86 Sludge will be a retool of SS86 Slug.
Wild ass prediction = They will reveal 2 more Gobot repaints to go with Bug Bite and Road Ranger
