Magnus is a big bot... What did you expect something like this to look like considering it's an add-on kit????

There were some pictures floating around of the mockups of the trailer and it looked really good. Only thing we haven't seen is the coloring.

Personally I thought the Cliffjumper set was over priced and overrated. I bought a Valkfan head and was completely happy.
THIS on the other hand is SWEET! Pricey, yes, I would have preferred a higher production run, and lower price, but this, i feel, is worth it.

Who knows perhaps they can do this again if this, the coronation set, and the Optimus trailer sell well enough.

Da, now I know for sure that I will be getting Animated Ultra Magnus!

Going to have to pass on this one.

Oh, and I forgot, we'll probably know more about MP Thundercracker and Grimlock too. What to do, what to do...

I'll have to spend time on my Lego version of G1 Magnus. If I stay focused, I can have it completed by the end of summer.

I could not agree more. BBTS doesn't penalize you for canceling a preorder. This doesn't come out until September, surely you can save up enough by then to cover this, that works out to less than 20.00 a month. With this being limited the preorder will probably sell out fast, then it will be Ebay rape time.

OK, that twist of the arm did it. Preordering it gives me some time to think about it. Done.

Why not go ahead and preorder it, if your still broke five months from now cancel. I wouldn't bet on there being a reissue.

Nickel for every time I've had that problem....
At any rate, I ordered one of them. But... Wasn't there once something about a Universe/2.0 Ultra Magnus? A brand new mold, not a repaint? Do I recall that correctly, or did I dream that?
Posted by Maldroth on April 27th, 2008 @ 7:40pm CDT
Well Animated Magnus is different (and very cool looking), so I'm 99% certain that is what Hasbro was talking about.

I'm gonna chime in with everyone agreeing on this. Preordering is safe, your not fully committed to anything, and personaly I have a feeling that another site may put it up for cheaper.
Still, why take the chance, cause once this sells out, yeah, I bet thats gonna be it. It's undoubtadly a nice rarety for a collection.
As for people that are saying they wanted it, but can't afford it, you have till September to save, plenty of time to put in some extra hours.
As for the younger folks out there, hey same deal! I was doing some yard work today and the kid across the street offered to help for $10. He worked his ass off, I gave him $30!
When I was a kid, I use to do the same things, and I always had my own money.
So basicly, theres plenty of time to make the money, put in some extra hours, grab a lawnmower and ring your neigbors doorbell. Just don't tell me that you can't get this cause your broke, when you have 5 months to plan.
If it's a principal matter, thats one thing. But if it's a lazy thing, then more nice toys for me, and "wish I hads" for you.

My fiance put it on her credit card.
Love, people. Find it as soon as you can and don't let go.

Exactly, you hit the nail on the head. I'm not saying 80.00 for some add on parts isn't a lot, becasue it is. But were talking five months down the road. If this is something you really want, preorder now and save up for it. Like you said this will be a rarity, and it will really look nice along with all the rest of the classics.

And I just made $60 for helping a friend, and $100 selling our couch.
Maybe I should order a third kit.
BBTS ships internationally, right?
EDIT:
If I go back and order another one, it's just added to my original, no?

Well it looks incredible, I can't wait to see the fully colored version, and how it looks in trailer mode. The same guy/company is also doing a trailer for classics OP, right? Sounds like you may have some insight on this.
