The Lord of Chaos. The Planet Eater. The Chaos Bringer. Unicron stands alone as the most menacing figure in Transformers lore, capable of devouring entire worlds and civilizations. He debuted in the 1986 film Transformers: The Movie and his insatiable appetite nearly brought the entire universe to its knees.
But his legacy transcends both space and time.
“I have summoned you here for a purpose.” - Unicron
Transformers fans may be mere humans, inhabiting a miniscule planet hardly worth consuming, but they are some of the most passionate fans out there. That’s why HASLAB, the Hasbro Pulse crowdsourcing platform, is the place to awaken such a massive project.
Introducing the first ever Transformers HASLAB project: Transformers War For Cybertron Unicron.
“Then it pleases me to be the first.” - Unicron
Join us in a historic opportunity to celebrate the legendary Unicron with a figure whose features, detail, and scale are worthy of his gigantic legacy.
This campaign will move into production when it reaches its minimum goal of 8,000 backers. All support must be received by 11:59 PM EST on October 6, 2019. If the campaign is successful your payment method will be charged on October 6, 2019. Orders are estimated to ship in early 2021.

I'd assume so, band-wagoners are fair weather fans.Plutoniumboss wrote:If it was already backed, wouldn't they get more buyers by posting up the real numbers and catching all the people who'd rather put their money on a sure thing?
The backer jumps just seem odd to me. I could assume their system only updates at regular intervals, but it's gone up 7 since the above screen shot. So who even knows.

Still prefer "Divorce Class"

One tidbit John Warden shared was that they did the Autobot shuttle because it's the same molded colors as the PVC bits on Unicron. #NYCC2019 #NYCC19 #Transformers

I believe it too. After such an emotional roller coaster this victory is going to feel so good. I’ve waited for this figure since ‘86, and I never anticipated it would ever be this screen accurate. Hell, this is fate. After this much of an investment in man hours, design, and a launch that included as much fanfare as it was rocky, Unicron is too big (no pun intended) to fail. I can’t imagine Hasbro having this many backers, this close to their goal and not making this happen. I don’t want to be petty but after all of the hate, vitriol and threats from “fans” to go support 3P knock off Unis in hopes that Haslab’s official offering would fail I can’t wait to see him go into production.

I've always felt that 7000 was the real minimum, and as long as they got that many, they would make things work somehow. Sure, they would be settling for less profit that they originally planned, but at least they wouldn't have wasted the time and money spent on development.

Is it just me, or is that a lot darker now? Maybe it's just he lights?
Anyway, as I write this we're nearly at 7,200. Japanese pre-orders ended yesterday and other shops should be placing their final orders soon so I wouldn't be surprised if it well exceeds 8,000. I think Hasbro is just enjoying the free PR drama.
That said, I finally placed my order on Pulse.

I think it'll make it. I certainly hope they fudge the numbers if it's just under 8,000. But I don't think this was ever a sure thing.

Then someone down the line will get the privilege to do the drop test.

Rate is staying about the same. I expect that the final day push hits the mark.

Because I'm an engineer (and a nerd), I'd love to see this graphically. A slow steady rise, then a plateau, and then at the end it either rises because not enough bought in, or falls because they are going to make it.

Nemesis Maximo wrote:Man, I want this thing so bad, but now that I’m buying a house I need to save for a down payment, and this guy is going to cost almost as much as my monthly mortgage payment. That’s **** insane.
Man, so I've been in a fiscally tight situation as well, and I ended up having to cancel my HasLab order. But this thing (if getting made) is a MUST HAVE for me... so I ended up going with BBTS. I mean, it really really sucks that I'm essentially paying an extra $200 more than I would have normally, but this figure is too worth it to miss out. It really helps that they don't make you pay everything upfront, as well as supposedly still letting you do $4 flat rate shipping. I still don't fulling understand how TFSource does theirs, but I'm believe the shipping on Unicron will be completely free due to its price. I just think that because of how once in a lifetime this figure is, if you can and really want to, you should. I mean, over a full year is a good amount of time to save up, it's practically just $50 a month less on normal Transformer spending (or other stuff of course.)

Impossible Haslabicron dont happen. Too bad I have no choice to miss out, but man, I REALLY want him to succeed. Because he may open the door to even crazier projects and I want to see them happen too.
