Amazon has also updated with some new official high res images of Hasbro's upcoming Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Deluxes Windrazor, Twinstrike, Smokescreen, and Bumblebee. These figures will be in the new line of simplified Deluxes designed with speedier transformations in mind. Check out the images including packaging shots below.
Autobots beware, because this Windrazor figure is a beastly menace! He can pound his enemies into scrap with his spiky Dragontooth Mace. But when he converts to dragon mode, he won't need weapons to win! Keep converting him back and forth so he can handle whatever his enemies dish out! Transformers and all related terms are trademarks of Hasbro.
Autobots beware, because this Twinstrike figure is a double dose of beast! He can pound his enemies into scrap with his enormous Piston Hammer. But when he converts to dragon mode, he won't need weapons to win! Keep converting him back and forth so he can handle whatever his enemies dish out! Transformers and all related terms are trademarks of Hasbro.
Decepticons beware, because this Smokescreen figure is a two-fisted Autobot menace! He's got 2 battle axes for hand-to-hand combat, and he can convert to racer mode fast to chase down any Decepticon who tries to escape. Keep converting him back and forth so he can handle whatever his enemies dish out! Transformers and all related terms are trademarks of Hasbro.
Predacons beware, because this Bumblebee figure has the technology and weapons to take any of them out! He'll take his Predacon enemies apart with his Dragonshredder sword in robot mode. If they're lucky enough to get away, he'll convert to combat racer mode to chase them down! Keep converting him back and forth so he can handle whatever his enemies dish out! Transformers and all related terms are trademarks of Hasbro.

Reminds me of back when Beast Wars Mega class went up five dollars in price and were rebrand voyager class. This frightens me to further escalation of transformer costs.

This didn't happen with Beast Wars. The $15 Mega Class stayed through Robots In Disguise in 2001/2002. It was phased out with Armada where Deluxe Class became known as Super-Cons and the Ultra Class became known as Max-Cons. In Energon, they were referred to as Combat Class and Mega Class respectively. And for Cybertron's launch in 2005, they were referred to as the standard Deluxe Class and Voyager Class respectively. The Ultra Class and Voyager Class have stayed within the $20 to $25 price range for the past 17 or 18 years, which is pretty impressive for retail products to stay so consistent in price. The exception, of course, being the price Toys R Us charges for their Voyager Class figures which peaked at almost $30 a figure with the Transformers Prime toyline.

But I'm sure the kids will like them!
You know... because they're the target audience, and they worry about catering to them first.
I could see these being like... for kids who "graduate" from Rescue Bots but may not be ready for standard, non-simplified figures.

On that note, I want to ask all of you to cool it with the inappropriate usage of the word "retard" and "retarded". The usage of the word above is offensive and degrading term to many people and should not be used on our forums in that manner.
If there is any confusion about how the word retard is viewed on this site, please refer to other articles on the web regarding the use of this word.

Besides the colors, I wish those two got the same type of treatment Predaking did, where every part was resculpted or even completely reworked. The Terrorcons are pretty intricate for Legions, so much so that they almost feel like shrunken Scouts! Not Deluxe grade, but the best candidates for upscaling I can think of. And best of all they would've looked awesome with the likes of Ripclaw and Laserback and the other Predacons. But alas! It's painfully obvious they're oversized Legions.

Not digging either of the Autobots' weapons, but the morning star and drill-hammer are pretty amazing. Hope they get reused for other figures.

Using Lazerback as a reference, these are just a little bit bigger and bulkier than that figure is.DarkEnergon wrote:I can't tell how big these are,
They're definitely larger than the average Deluxes have been in recent years.

Thank you for addressing your post, we do appreciate it when the members work with us. Makes it easier on everyone. On the other part of your post, it's not calling massive attention to the issue. It's the board/site owner telling the public that we do not condone the use of such a word or the derogatory meaning behind it. He has that right, because the words of a few should not speak for the entire site.
MR Optimus Prime wrote:Yes, these do look ******. I will have NO ONE tell me not to use that word in regaurds to a toy.
Uh, yes you will. When the board owner (or any member of staff, for that matter) tell you (not asking) that you can't say something and that it violates the rules, you are to follow those rules. There's no need to continue causing trouble "just because".
And your follow up post where you edited to remove the censoring has been removed and had better not return, otherwise further action will be taken. We don't mind people posting their opinions, but we do ask that they respect their fellow members and not use offensive terminology, even if it is aimed at a toy.
Do not post that again.

Why is it they're deluxes and can't merge? Hasbro's/Tomy's(?) logic escapes me Saber.

Deluxes? To make money. Can't merge? Why make them retain the functionality when they have no plans to release the rest of the team? (And we've yet to see anything that says they'll release the other Terrorcons in Deluxe Class size. And even if they did, it's pointless since they can't combine.)
It's a crap tactic. Fortunately, all signs point to the profits of these being funneled to Generations to fund things such as Metroplex, and a slew of new product that's supposedly coming.

Theyre toys FOR CHILDREN! As in young people, under the age of 10. We had 5/6 waves of Beast Hunters, its done, now we move on to other lines. Let the little kids have their fun toyline.
this is NOT just a line of upscaled legion toys, they said the first wave or two would be as a necessary stopgap till they could bring out the designs they were now working on. personally, i wouldnt put this kind of thing NEAR my display shelves, but id keep one or two as a toy for my desk to mess with occasionally. This is not the 'high end line' or the 'fan pleasing' line, this is a toy line for little kids and im sure it will suffice.
Either way, grow the hell up and stop throwing round words you barely understand the meaning of.

Not because of their simplicity, but their paint applications are unappealing and sometimes ugly as well as the awkward proportions that comes with making Cyberverse/Legends bigger.
Though, we'll see how well this does with the younger kids.
Stumpybot wrote:Theyre toys FOR CHILDREN! As in young people, under the age of 10.
I'd say under the age of 6 or 7 rather than 10.

That would defeat the whole point of upsizing existing Legends molds. If you want elbow joints, buy the normal versions. These are an alternative.

Plus, I had assumed "the whole point" was to have very simple transformations in mainline toys, which isn't necessarily exclusive of basic articulation. The two Preds already have some tweaks done to their limbs (Twin's got new ankles and Wind's got different upper arms), would've been great to add in proper knees, elbows, etc..

Legion Windrazor has ball-jointed elbows, while this Deluxe one has solid-piece fixed elbows, making the Deluxe have less articulation than the Legion.GuyIncognito wrote:Rated X wrote:Would it have killed them to add elbow joints ?

I was refferring to the Terrorcons which do not have a regular deluxe mold, just the legends size. The whols "upsizing" required casting a new mold to begin with so why not make them better instead of doing a half ass job ? Like I said before, kids arent that stupid. Elbow joints would have eliminated the stiff arm look on the robot mode of Sinnertwin and Cutthroat while increasing the posability of the dragon heads and wings in beast modes.

Smokescrean and BB are an easy pass IMO.
The one character I really wish they would 'upscale' is Hardshell. I got the commander class for my boy the other day, and I've played with it just as much as he has. Awesome figure.
Posted by alternator77 on November 8th, 2013 @ 7:39pm CST
this a money grab pure and simple it isn't about easier transformations or being kid friendly
its about making more money by spending less on engineering, molds(fewer parts), and shipping costs (lighter figures).
I don't say this angrily though as they are a company with shareholders to answer to and the bottom line is the almighty dollar reigns supreme.
that said can you imagine the look on parents faces when their kids get these packages see the advert for the transformers COLLECTORS CLUB on the bottom and go to sign up to find out it costs a couple hundred dollars.
on a side note it makes me scared for future releases in the club if they end up using molds like these because lets face it they're easy to reproduce due to their lower complexity.
in the end well pay more for less and despite our best efforts that will be that.
