Video Review of Masterpiece Movie MPM-09 Autobot Jazz

Fellow Seibertronians, TonTon Review is at it again, this time bringing us a review of the upcoming Masterpiece Movie MPM-09 Jazz figure! Thanks to forum members Nathaniel Prime and Riley Hoffman for sending us this scoop! If you're not already familiar with TonTon Review on YouTube, know that these reviews are narrated by a computer generated voice translating into English from another language. TonTon gives us a nice look at both modes of MPM-09 Jazz, his Pontiac Solstice and robot forms, both looking incredibly screen accurate. He also offers some size and detail comparisons with other versions of Movie Jazz, including the Human Alliance release from several years ago and the more contemporary Studio Series Deluxe Class figure from 2018. The transformation is VERY intricate, as would be expected for a Masterpiece release, to get every detail from the Pontiac Solstice mode into just the right place in robot mode for the most screen accurate version of Movie Jazz we've seen to date in toy form. TonTon shows off the transformation both ways, from car, to robot, and back again, taking some time in robot mode to show off some of the accessories that come with this Masterpiece release, including a Sam Witwicky figure holding the Allspark, Jazz's signature cannon-shield, and a robotic spine piece to help replicate Jazz's battle with Megatron in the first movie. Have a look at the video yourselves below!

What do you think of this latest in the line of Masterpiece Movie figures from Hasbro and Takara Tomy? Will you be adding Movie Jazz to your collections? Let us know in the forums and stay tuned to Seibertron.com for the latest news on all things Transformers!

I really like the figure, and I think he's well worth the price. I do wonder, did Barricade sell at a similar price? Because I dont see why they could exclude a minifigure of frenzy.

I was also surprised to see that his backpack isn't made with faux parts (not 100% at least)

I HATE transforming RiD (2001) Hot Shot, but I would go Sisyphus on that toy forever if only to avoid transforming this Jazz toy once.

Looks beautiful, though. But the Kim Kardashian kind, where there's so much crazy coming off it that the Hate Plague cries in jealousy.

Jazz genuinely looks fantastic. I think he's out of scale though like bee and barricade which is a bit annoying.

The nails don't bother me, but the bug at 24:43 ooks me out.

Jazz look really good and the articulated figures are cool. I dig the movie Jazz design.

He seems to have mistransformed the legs, there's a die cast part that looks like a toe on the outside of the legs when he's taking him from vehicle mode to robot mode that he doesn't swing down. Understandable though, as he probably doesn't have any instructions. He's probably an employee at the factory that keeps the test shots and reviews them.

You don't get it at all. There's a big difference between wants levels and just downright hating the thing. Like hit-n-running in bayformer thread just to say you hate bayformers (like a certain poster always do) for example.

Please stop being an extremist. There's more than black and white in this world.

Nah it's just being cheap. Nothing more, nothing less. >:oP

This is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever read. Waiting for sales is not, never has been, and never will be “cheap”. It’s intelligent. I can easily afford these figures as well, but I don’t pay full price if I can at all avoid it.

Every single MPM figure, every single one, has hit massive discounts on Amazon. At this point, paying full price is a bit stupid.

You need some life experience, son.

It makes little difference to Takara of these are on sale or not as they already got their money when suppliers bought stock, what they want is not to be hit by unsold stock. Waiting for sales is a viable tactic to getting the best for your cash. Especially if you can put down the FOMO monster (Fear Of Missing Out).

Items sitting on shelves for a long period of time decreases the chances of stores ordering the same or similar items which then leads manufacturers to not make items in the future or cut corners. It's a sad and stupid way of thinking of a brand new figure to wait for a discount. Improve ones situation with some ambition and all is well.

That FOMOnster is a real asshole and a hard one to slay :-(

Absolutely nothing wrong with waiting on a sale, I do it all the time for my maybe list. Even though I really like the look of MPM Jazz, that's where it sits.

If it goes on sale cool, but too bad for me if I miss out.

I have a strong feeling that isn't the scenario here, and I think you're being a tad dramatic. These will sell well, the first shipment and when the sales hit. Nothing to do with ambition. If you want to get this on release then all power to you :) there'll be more shipment for you to grab ;)

Yeah, keep on trolling. If, god forbid, you are serious, enjoy throwing money away, either way, I’m done.

Don't be annoyed at me purely because you're cheap and lack the finances. No need to be behaving like a pauper.

I think we all need to take a step back and calm the fuck down a little ...

Trolling by who-know-who aside, that Jazz is DA BOMB!
Truly, the good old Human Alliance is now officially outdated. At first, I feared the MPM Jazz's backpack would be one lazy "same-old, same-old" bullcrap that we see on every single figures. But now I see that even though the backpack is still there, it's cleverly camouflaged with details! Even the back of the legs have not been neglected.

Let's hope by the time I finally clear my card off my latest binge purchases, it will go on sale. That would be one hell of a happy coincidence!
