Yup. Well I already got Jetfire before that review but Megatron looks fun too and I almost got him at same time but there's only so much money in my bank account.

If it wasn't sent to us to news, it might have gotten overlooked. Was it posted here in the thread?

I guess that extra chest piece means DOTM Optimus will be metallic red, which would be really disappointing after SS MV1 Prime got the red right. Guess we’ll have to wait and see!
Also, fun fact: the claw in DOTM Crankcase’s Mechtech weapon lets Ironhide store it on his back in a not-so-bad stand in for the heavy iron rifles, at least until a third party company makes some proper ones. It doesn’t tab in or anything, but I thought it looked kinda cool!

I dunno. I think I'd be fine with a metallic paint job on DotM Prime. Would be a nice variant to make the main figure different enough from SS32 (thought I wish paint budget could give him his damn robot mode flames!) and I presume they'd be interchangable so you could put SS32 with the DotM trailer thingy and obviously (from what we assume) DotM Prime with Jetfire if you want. I just find it a bit strange that the ab piece is included with Jetfire and not as an extra with the DotM Prime. Cos at the moment it's completely unnecessary (and confused some people who switched the piece with the ab piece on SS32 cos they thought it needed to connect Prime to Jetfire when it isn't) and just a strange extra piece to put in the accessory box. Maybe DotM Prime is gonna max out the Leader class budget and Jetfire had a smidgey bit left in his? I dunno how it all works.
More weapons for Ironhide always fun. Heck, more weapons for any character is fun.

As for Megatron....eeeeeh....I want to like him. I was hoping that maybe I wouldn’t mind his huge blocky legs as much, after having so much fun playing with Siege Magnus. His legs are huge blocks. But I feel like the aesthetics are just too different. What works for Magnus might not work for Megs. I’m also disappointed to see how little articulation Megatron has, and some of those clearance issues. That’s a real bummer.
I was immensely impressed with his shotgun! Until we saw the reverse side. I just don’t get going all out to make a finely painted, highly detailed sculpt, but for only one side of an object. Igor is awesome though.
If someone like DNA comes out with a real good upgrade that fixes some of the issues, then I’ll probably pick him and the upgrade up at some point, but as of right now, I feel no rush to get him.

However, I did change my mind over Jetfire. This is a pure MASTERPIECE who blow the previous ROTF version out of the water with a friggin' NUKE. This will certainly be a buy for me.

Yeah, considering he's a 'second round' on this figure, instead of a 'sixth round' like starscream, they got him surprisingly well done

Megatron on the other hand is a total disappointment.
Like, here's the DOTM Voyager:

Yeah, the chest isn't quite as good and the cloak is restrictive because of being made of plastic rather than cloth. But his limbs are much better. More consistently proportioned and nowhere near as excessively chunky. And this is a Voyager figure. A Leader-class toy cf him could have and should have more refined and complicated engineering to pull off the design even better.
But no.

I agree about Megatron. Aesthetically, the Voyager figure is better. If they simply increased the dimensions of that figure into leader size, it would have been perfectly fine. I wouldn't have been mad.

Also wanted to show this off to see how the scale has changed over the years, and that's ok, cause I have a large scale Movie 1 cast with a nice smaller modern scale
EDIT: There are 2 more layers of shelves with Cogman, Nemesis Prime, and a few more in front of books.

Also taking these pictures shows off what we really need from Studio Series to fill out the ranks from the movies.
Notably missing for me Autobot wise is a Deluxe Leadfoot and Dino, as well as some good Arcee triplets, a Voyager Slug, mini figures of Brains and Wheelie coming with another figure, and kinda a want but not need would be WWII Hot Rod. Decepticon wise, the new updated Devastator coming will be a hugely welcomed addition, as will the Bonecrusher and Shatter figures; missing still but welcome would be a TLK Leader Infernocus, good voyager Sentinel Prime (I just traded mine, wasn't good and I do despise that character for his role in the movie, but still), and some toys of the Con crew from TLK like Onslaught (from Long Haul) and Mohawk.

I see you're also a big Cussler fan.

Rodimus Prime wrote:Nice shots! And speaking of the Arcee sisters, how do you think they should be packaged and sold? 3 deluxes in one package for maybe leader price? Or individually? Weren't they supposedly able to combine?
I see you're also a big Cussler fan.![]()
Considering their size and if they would go with the concept stage ability to combine, I feel maybe a Voyager pricepoint with the 3 sisters would probably suffice. the ability to combine would be awesome but is not essential to me.
And hell yeah Cussler!

TonTon shows off the conversion of Rampage from bulldozer to unipedal robot and back, as well as how to transform Rampage into Devastator's right leg. Rampage comes with a four-point black plastic stand to help him stay upright in robot mode. TonTon also provides size comparisons to various other figures in the Studio Series and other Transformers lines in both vehicle and robot modes. The review is narrated in English via computer voice. Take a look for yourself below!
Are you excited for Constructicon Rampage and the other seven members of Devastator? Can you wait two years to complete an entire combiner team? Tell us in the comments below, and keep tuned to Seibertron.com for the latest news on all things Transformers!
