Fans who ordered Transformers Legacy Breakdown on Shopee have received him since, hence our earlier photos. And now we have a video review, from JoeyBoy pommers Chompilo lacson Marquez. In it we see a good comparison with his moldmate Wild Rider. We also see that he indeed only comes with 1 gun, which can be stored under the car in alt mode. We also see combined Menasor from the front and back. We will probably have an official reveal tomorrow.

How about we don’t take the word of people who get their stuff through questionable means before they’re even announced, yes?

He comes with two to emulate the old double canon in car mode.

I see you're assuming, too. >:oP

It's not just the wiki though, it's the fact that Hasbro, according to previous posts here, based their designs upon the original G1 cars, which were repaints of the original Diaclone toys, which were named after the actual official cars. The new versions look like them.

There's no "interpretation" at play here. These are cold, hard facts.

However, if you feel challenged by those facts, feel free to misinterpret them any way you feel like.

Menasor was designed as a complete figure, so each component was designed at a similar time. Breakdown and Wildrider sharing the same parts was decided before anything went into production. So neither one is a retool of the other, they are simply 2 figures which share parts. That distinction could be crucial because through this lens we can see how the alt mode was not designed to be specifically a ferrari or a lambo but simply a sports car that could accomodate either make in a generalized fashion.

Does Wildrider look more like a ferari than Breakdown looks like a lambo? That's my question.

Because if they are both generic enough, then technically Wildrider is the first retool they showed us.

How about they both look like cars 99% will never be able to touch let alone afford?

He does come with 2 Guns. It's just that because of the detachable spoiler, he now has 3 "accessories" (yay this is what we always wanted right, more accessories ;) ) but no practical way to utilize them all at once, at least as far as we know for the moment.

I mean at the end of the day, those of us who complete the Stunticons are going to display them combined as Menasor, and you won't be able to see Breakdown anyway so it's kind of a moot point.

Heck, people could display smaller figures in front of Menasor so the legs can't be seen and you could get away without either of the leg bots thus saving some money and being triggered because a little white toy car not looking how they think it should.

Yeah there’s no assuming we know he’s coming with 2 guns but sure let’s take the word of someone who 1. Doesn’t prove packaging. 2. Doesn’t say where they actually acquired it. 3. Conveniently picked up a second only to get a gun with again zero proof of packaging, purchase or showing both in a photo one in bot mode and one in alt mode. But hey, we’ll know in 16 hours.

Also as others pointed out his characters description rumor says 3 accessories. So there’s that.

It's not just because I'm going to display them as menasor a lot, but also because I genuinely don't care how they look, the wildrider figure is nice and the colors on breakdown look really clean, so I'm excited for it. Exactly. Even the bonnet isn't fully "known" right now, so it's best to wait. Any potentially "teefed" (or even officially sourced) figures that aren't ready for sale may differ from the final products. They even state this on the official packaging as they often use such figures for the packaging...

I'm going to split hairs with you on this one.

I agree that neither is 100% "correct" in terms of resembling his G1 self. However, if you look at the 2, IMO the immediate conclusion is that Wildrider looks more accurate than Breakdown, even with the latter's spoiler. Therefore I make the conclusion that when the mold was created, it favored Wildrider.

That would mean that even though they were on the design phase at the same time, it was Wildrider who got looked at first, and since they look very similar, Breakdown is the one who is more inaccurate.

Calling him a retool wouldn't be exactly correct, if he had gotten a proper Lamborghini front, then he could be considered a retool of Wildrider, since it was the Wildrider design (by virtue of it being closer to an accurate Wildrider) that was the starting point for Breakdown.

This is great. I don't know my cars too well, so I was really trying to open more of a debate by adding this dimension to it. So thanks for responding and giving me your opinion on whether or not one looks more like a retool than the other.

As for my opinion, I've not been a fan of any of the stunticon alt modes so far, all of them have a bit that bugs me (best one being Wildrider so far). So I'll either have them in combined mode or robot mode most of the time.

Randomhero wrote:Doesn’t say where they actually acquired it.

So far a buncha chin scratches from me, but we're about to get official info soon anyway so I'll just wait until then. :-?
Still won't mind getting the figure in the end, I'm considering keeping these versions in robot mode since they seem more toy-accurate than the CW versions but probably keep the CW versions combined as Menasor since that's more toy-accurate than the Legacy version - not by a long shot but the limb bots actually form limbs yadda yadda.

I also wonder if we'll get official insight on why BD's a retool, beyond the obvious reasons like cost cutting and similar functionality in combined mode. :-?

Or use duct tape or something to stuff into the mechanisms which control the spring-loaded 'doors' which cover up Menasor's shins. If you can just jam those mechanisms and force those doors shut, then you REALLY don't need either of the leg component deluxes.

Hasbro Pulse Con 2022 is underway and you can watch it live below:

It seems like Legacy year 1 is over at wave 3, at least in terms of new characters (there may be repacks or solid case sent to retailers). Any new reveals, including Breakdown are for the year 2 of Legacy which is subtitled Evolution.

First they revealed the Poster for Legacy Year 2 where you can see a lot of the line. Here are the reveals we got so far.

Core class

Slug
Sludge: There will be 6 core class dinobots and they combine into Volcanicus
Soundblaster

Deluxe
Breakdown: comes out in Legacy Evolution but will have first year Legacy box
Scraphook: new junkions that can break apart and combine with other junkions or other characters like weaponizers.
Armada Hot Shot
Needlenoze with 2 targetmasters that transform and combine into a bigger weapon

Voyager
Leo Prime: very realistic animal take, not cartoon-like
Tarn: many 5 mm ports for all sorts of loadout options

AcademyofDrX wrote:Why do they keep adding fun play features like combination when all we want is toys to transform once and then put on a shelf or stick in a tote

That's subjective, I'd rather they don't shoehorn in play features that are unnecessary. I'd prefer a set of core Constructicons or Pretender Monsters instead. I can only hope they worked a Dinoking into the mold since Grimlock isn't forming any part of the torso this time.

Poor Hot Shot can't bend his knees! Glad they improved the arms compared to the previous versions and he's got his bazooka, but they really screwed him on the knees.

Needlenose looks PERFECT! Might be the surprise hit of Evoloution.

Scraphook is a neat looking figure, cool that they were able to make a "weaponizer" with a normal transformation.

Leo Prime has a great looking bot mode, but I'm a bit indifferent about the Lion head. Don't mind it being realistic like the other beasts, just not sure that it's a good sculpt.

Tarn! Man he looks absolutely incredible! Judging from the poster there's something up with him that hasn't been revealed yet and the team seems to be confirming that. Is he starting a new combiner or maybe it has something to do with the next Titan? Very curious.

I was all prepared to skip the core Dinobots are seeing that they didn't look that good, but then they said they combined, and that this time it is a 6-bot Volcanicus, and that torso looks cool, and I decided I need them.

Soundblaster should be a pass for me, I have and love my Takara selects one and FOC one, I am good on the character.

Breakdown still looks good, 1 blaster.

Scraphook looks incredible, he may have just changed my mind on the current Junkion lineup.

Hot Shot looks great! Love it!

Needlenose: about damn time, a bit disappointed in how simple he looks, but still happy he is here.

Lio convoy looks good! I like how this came out, it is neat and I look forward to adding him to the Beasts.

Tarn looks AMAZING. They nailed him. Well done. I am now very torn on keeping my Super7 preorder, since now Nickel is the only real reason to get that set

Scraphook looks great, the only worry is the truck will come across too small at deluxe (and nots even when thinking of next to ss86 voyager junkions). A buy either way.

As for Tarn, frankly my dear, I dont give a Tarn....but it looks really realllly good so it's a buy.

Lioconvoy is looking really good and despite being more than happy with takara legends i think he will be getting bought.

core dinobots easy pass, at their prices they are close to being potp deluxe prices and the modes look a bit ugly with the odd coloring combo of toy dino mode cartoon bots.

Hotshot looks incomplete in vehicle mode and no jolt, but its a maybe.

Needlenose def buy.

Shattered glass soundwave a buy too even if the ravage can go straight in the bin when it gets left in the box by..erm... accident.

This was my first thought exactly. I really hope this isn't a test for Monstructor/ Dinoking. I know they were small originally, but a proper update each member needs to be at least deluxe class.

eh ... like you said, they look good regardless.

Um, . . . no.

Motormaster, absolutely. Menasor is "cartoon accurate" to some of the laziest, slipshod animation the 80's had to offer. He's no more a combiner than a cheerleading squad climbing on each other's shoulders to make a pyramid. The cars are totally irrelevant and unnecessary to the "combined" form. They're just hangers-on. It barely qualifies as a half-assed attempt. While I do have some issues with CW Menasor, at least he doesn't remind me of some cheap, Chinese bootleg knock-off.

What are they? I haven't seen them before

That's Dinoking, a Japan-only redeco of Monstructor:

Transformers G1 1989 Monstructor Gallery

They were released in 1989, well after the cartoon ended in the US.

Monstructor is the combined form of the Pretender Monsters. As per their name, they changed into "monsters" and as Pretenders they had monstrous shells, made of rubbery plastic (that didn't age well). In Japan their shells were replaced with Dinosaur ones, matching the original Dinobots plus a new genus for the sixth member.

The layout for those wondering:

Triceratops & Brontosaurus (Kakuryu & Rairyu): Torso
Pteranodon & Ankylosaurus (Yokuryu & Gairyu): Arms
Tyrannosaurus & Stegosaurus (Goryu & Doryu): Legs

I caught that in one of my posts. Let's see if they actually follow through this time.

The chat is PISSED that they're still talking about Transformers when the Power Rangers panel was supposed to start over 10 minutes ago.

It would be really nice if they remembered the latter series combiners. Considering the Legacy line has super jumped from UT to IDW...
