Up first, from Chuckdawg himself, we have a video review for the soon to be released Selects Smokescreen figure. Smokescreen is a redeco of the retail release Barricade, though he comes with both the shoulder cannons Barricade comes with as well as the regular Prowl/Bluestreak gun. Smokescreen was available for pre-order through Pulse, and he should be arriving early next week and start shipping out to all who pre-ordered him.
And secondly, we have a new review form Chefatron, who shows off the upcoming Selects Hot Shot figure! This review shows off Hot Shot, who is a head retool of Wave 1 Hound, a reveal that was long awaited after the box art showed off this Hot Shot head. We have rumors that he will be available at New York Comic Con from the Entertainment Earth booth, and should hopefully be available online around the same time.
Check out the reviews below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!
Out of the three Datsun brothers, Smokescreen is my favorite since the character got quite a bit of development in the G1 cartoon. Like Bluestreak, Smokescreen comes with the shoulder launchers that are clearly based on the animation model for G1 Smokescreen. If you can find it for a reasonable price Smokescreen is a must for any collection.

Star Convoy is the first Takara initiated Selects figure, and is a retool of the Power of the Primes Optimus Prime figure, featuring new leg armor, chest pieces, shoulders, and headsculpt for the larger robot, and an almost entirely retooled smaller robot. The alternate mode ends up looking about the same as the original mold, with almost all the retooling done to the robot modes.
Star Convoy is shown to have stickers to attach to his trailer, meaning you can decorate the trailer up how you want it to be and have the stickers as straight as you can get them.
Star Convoy is currently scheduled for a November release. Check out the images below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Was also dissapointed about that with the Power of the Primes mold. Why couldn't one chest be real?

So the smaller robot mode resembles the Action Master toy? Huh, never thought about that.

Heard about that from others.chuckdawg1999 wrote:Did anybody get an email from BBTS canceling the pre-orders for the first two figures in the set? I'm hearing people have and that the Seacons will be Pulse exclusives going forward
It's probably just a temporary thing allowing Pulse first dibs on these figures. I'd imagine other venues will open back up for them later on after Pulse is satisfied with being the only initial outlet for these, but which will probably happen only after the figures' release in January.

I have the first two pre-ordered but I haven't gotten a notification yet. It makes sense since BBTS hasn't put the other sets up yet.

Hm and it just so happen the original G1 mold of Tentakill was redone as a fembot in Beast Wars 2nd. Do we have a potential redeco awaiting us down the line?

I don't see why not, since they did Baldigus from Bruticus in Unite Warriors.Skritz wrote:ThunderThruster wrote:These pics have made me realise that Tentakil is based on the POTP Moonracer mold.

Yeah, but a lot of parts have been changed. In fact, the only unchanged parts I'm spotting are the fists, the waist swivel, hips and back piece with the Combiner peg. Very impressive, and easily the most retooled out of the bunch.
Scuba had better start hiding...
